Is it possible as a developer to make a game you will enjoy yourself when it's done? Or is it like being an artist in that it's very difficult to fap to your own porn?

I dunno about drawfags but as a porn writer you pretty much have to fap while writing
If you can't fap to your own drawings you're not doing something right
as a writer i usually fap during the event then am too embarrassed of my writing to do anything but revise it a bit
If you're making Uncharted you'll puke as soon as you see the opening title, because you know the game like the back of your hand.
If you developed Tetris or Hearthstone though? Sure you'll play a few games, or even more.
Clearly, you're doing something wrong if you can't fap to your own porn
>fap while writing
I disagree, people (generally) like my writing and I cannot get off to them myself.
I can jack it to my own porn. I also might be a narcissist, though.
Is that your work, user?
no
...
Well, where is it and can you fap to it?

Too bad, it's alright.
For furshit.
I asked for YOUR work, user.
I sure hope so, I want to make a game I'll like
Porn isn't hard to fap to, I did it to the shit I drew until I stopped drawing people.
k here
Yes because games have usefulness, not just mere eye candy.
The creator of tetris became addicted to the prototype and for some time couldn't finish the game because he was playing all day.
I also fap top my own porn
Huh. I just find that fapping while writing gets my "creative juices" flowing, so to speak
Same. I write erotic shit all the time, but I can't get excited by my own stuff. It's like...literary incest.
No
But not all games are the same in that regard. A linear story based game for example would be nearly unplayable for the guy who made it, I imagine.
Tetris has endless replay value. I guess that's the factor? Replayability? But it can't be scripted replayability, it has to be something that varies organically.
I think people who create easily see all the flaws in their work when they experience it. If you can honestly enjoy what you've made it's probably a really good sign.
It's a bad idea to fap while writing the porn story. It affects your writing style especially when you finish your load but didn't finish the current chapter.
Trust me, I'm a pornwriter.
There is the saying that a good book gets better the second time you read it and even better the third.
If the Dev can't bear to read his own writing again then it's probably shit.
I really love games that hide little secrets in them, or when you're just playing and suddenly stumble upon something beautiful and unknown.
So chances are developing my own game with lots of bits like that wouldn't work since you already know what's around each corner.
>There is the saying that a good book gets better the second time you read it and even better the third.
A saying meant for the audience and likely not for the writer themselves.
Yeah, I've had that happen on two of my pornfics that will never get finished.
But you need arousal to be able to channel your sex...
What about procedural generation
Yeah, it's possible. The key is that, as the developer, you programmed the ruleset of the game. How the game actually plays is up to the player.
I have written some stories myself. The best ones I feel like revisiting and rebuilding them over and over again, but that would be really boring for the audience.
I mean yeah, that's kind of your only hope to find things you've "never seen before" but at the same time you still developed the systems that generate it, and can likely deduce most possible outcomes.
This is why developing in group is super important.
You need the surprise and the external input to remain engaged.
Unless you're the head of the project and all that has to go through you anyway.
Romero seems to still genuinely enjoy playing DooM, so yes.
Pacha inhaled sharply as he felt himself being pushed over the edge of orgasm. With no warning, he grasped the sides of Kuzco's llama head and forced his mouth all the way down the shaft, deep into the wet, waiting throat of the obedient animal. Pacha moaned, and Kuzco's eyes widened, then narrowed slyly with the naughty realization that he was going to receive Pacha's load. He worked the back of his tongue on the underside of Pacha's cock head as the first two- three pumps ejaculated down his throat. Then he uh, did some stuff, I dunno? Shit like, I guess. Uh
I wrote satirical porn where you kill an anthro dragon by shitting down her throat
>But not all games are the same in that regard. A linear story based game for example would be nearly unplayable for the guy who made it, I imagine.
As a dev and artist I have a related phobia. I feel afraid of rewatching old movies/playing old games. I feel like I have to constantly innovate all the time. Neomania(Feeling that surprise=good). I almost never replayed any of the things I did/wrote more than once. Also I never replayed or rewatched movies I liked for fear of "ruining the experience". I'm pretty sure a lot of artists of the digital age suffer from this.
But the more I grow up the more I see the value of repetition. I force myself to revisit old things I have done, several times. It really changes your perception of things.

As somehow who has made several games as prototypes and tests I can confidently say yes. Hell, usually the reason people make games in the first place is because they love playing games, so it wouldn't be worth it if you couldn't enjoy your end-product.
What am I looking at here?
I think that's the part of Sup Forums mansion where the traps live amd serve cock if I remember right
Looks kinda comfy
But how do you get around the fact that you probably know the game better than the palm of your fap hand?
Of course it is.
I have a question for smut artists. How do you draw smut? I always get too horny, fap, and then not draw any smut.
I edge.
I enjoy watching the YouTube videos I've made. So I'm sure people enjoy the games they've made. I agree that fapping to your own porn you drew is difficult. Tried it, no use.
not every game has a story that ruins the game if you know it. And understanding the code that makes something happen doesn't mean that the game behaves in some way you don't expect. If you accidentally use the wrong variable type in a piece of code and some result down the line overflows the variable type or returns an argument of a different type, crazy bugs pop up that might inspire you for a new mechanic or something.
Drawfag here. Most people don't fap to their own porn because all we'd do is hone in on whatever can be fixed about the image rather than wanting to jack off to it, there's also being desensitized to lewd stuff which plays a big factor.
>"creative juices"
Learn to draw.

Knowing that I can't listen to music that I make, I would assume it's very difficult. Especially if you make it by yourself
