I think the message behind the video was solid (how people from different cultures and backgrounds can give charm and personality to a product), but it's blatantly ignorant to claim every white American shares the same culture, background and ideology and that their creative vision is the same. The main thing I disagree with in this is the way he characterizes gamers as wanting everyone to fall in love with their hobby, or at least take it more seriously. I'm sure there's plenty of people that feel that way, but there's plenty of others (especially around here) that don't give a fuck about how other people view their hobby.

Aside from that, he makes some decent points. Especially when pointing out that any game with narrative elements isn't apolitical, regardless of how simplistic or centrist is attempt to be.

What he said was that the game promotes a national perspective on history. Its not completely clear that he dislikes it but he seems to prefer the more fluid and complex grand stratgey genre.

I'll have to watch the video again, but I don't remember that being stated or heavily implied. Like you mentioned, he does say that having more diversity behind video game development could lead to a wider range of experiences offered, which would counter some of the stagnation people bitch about these days.

And while it's true that members of a certain ethnic group (or any cultural group) have significant distinctions between them, it's also fair to assume that they have a closer shared experience and perspective than members of different cultural groups.
