Is this the best pc controller available?

depends on the game..
Yes
Xbone controller is better, but also costs a bit more.
It is the best for games that don't really require using d-pad precisely.
For 2D platformers and stuff I have an old Dualshock.
For everything except fighting games
Ever since Microsoft fixed the shoulder buttons, the Xbone's is superior in almost every way
It's the most compatible controller out there. I hate the dpad to death but it just werks
What games sufferer from the 360 controller?
Sticks break way too fucking easily.
I bought one to play San Andreas, but it doesn't work with that game for some reason. It'll work with Vice City though.
The Bone looks like a better version, although the Steam Controller is said to be fixed in latest versions
No
Rts games in general.
Though i loved the shit out os c&c on the psx/ c&c3 on the 360.
The Xbone pad is exactly as compatible
>Completely worthless dpad
Not even close.
Yes, completely. I use it for every game recommending a controller, along with fighters.
I want to get into fighting games. Recommend me a middle-range stick, Sup Forums; not a $1 chinese ching-chong or a $4000 FGC EVO PRO, but something between.
Why the FUCK is it so hard to find this thing in white? The official one of course, not some 3rd party shit.
you need to downgrade to 1.0 and use silent patch +deji g-input
It would be if the dpad wasn't shit.
White colored controllers have been discontinued for years.
Xbone is better. D-Pad isn't shit.
dpad games suffer the most.
Other than that, solid controller
Does the dpad actually work in this thing or does it just look nice?
That's the P$4 controller you're thinking of.
Hori RAP4
Man a xbone controller is extremly expensive and I'm never gonna buy a xbone.
It's pretty good. Very clicky. I like it.
>two new Xbone gamepads
>left stick broken in both of them after not even two weeks
>meanwhile two X360 gamepads are working fine, even though they're years old
I know I can replace the sticks, but it'd be easier if I didn't have to. Other than that, yeah, Xbones are better.
What about the triggers, are they the same as in 360?
What does everyone think of this model with the rotating D-Pad?
it's also more burgers to buy
No, I'm deadly serious. The black version of the 360 controller has fragile sticks. Went through 5 of them in the last 5 years.
Thanks.
Get it in black, and yes.
Well shit.
What about these things? Does anyone here have one? I am not interested in the "glow" part of it, I just think clear controllers are neat and this is supposed to be officially licensed by Microsoft so I assume they are durable. Are they?
NO
You can't use it on PC, so it doesn't matter.
I have never heard anyone using that controller on a pc.
Does that thing even use usb?
How can you use this on PC?
Can you use it without resorting to some shady as shit third party driver or something?
It does have USB
Because it's not a PC controller, he's just being a shitposting faggot.
Dualshock 4 is better
You can use it with a bluetooth dongle, faggot.
Not for the old games.
I was about to buy one to replace my 360 controller, but went with a standard Xbone one instead. Do the smart thing and get an extended warranty if you plan to buy one, even if it has good reviews online.
...
Does anyone know if you can map the Elite's paddle buttons to separate functions on PC?
Normally you can only make them do the same action as another button on the controller which is fucking useless and redundant
Xbone controller is better for 2d platformers since it has a d-pad that's pretty good but you can't go wrong with the 360 controller.
>wireless
>best at anything
>that mushy ass d-pad
Not really
If it had the Vita's glorious D-Pad it would be GOAT but they really fucked up
Absolutely not.
Just get a DS3/4, install SCP Driver and be done with it.
Why do people here hate wireless so much?
>implying you'll even notice the couple ms of delay
k
see dualshocks a shit
youtube.com
>$149.99
It works but only if you buy some special adapter, otherwise you need a bluetooth dongle, special bluetooth drivers, and a lot of tweaking.
The controller feels great when you make it work but I'd rather plug & play.
Cool, thanks for the input m80
I've thought about the Xbox One controller too, that thing is so damn nice. Having a proper D-pad would be rad too.
This video is fucking great
I know it's expensive, I probably wouldn't get it, but the paddle buttons are pretty cool and if they actually worked as separate buttons on PC it would almost be worth it
i ran though 5 of those things cause of the deadzone getting fucked up.
i still think they were good purchases
Better, and they vibrate in Forza 6 Apex which is pretty cool.
>the engine revving drift part
Gets me every time
Also, no force feedback.
This and the xbox one controller pretty much. Its the de-facto standard on PC, works natively with no need to install drivers, and many games are pre-configured for it and button prompts are mapped to an xbox controller.
I've had the one I use on my pc for about 4 years now and it still works flawlessly. What the hell do you do to your sticks?
What do I need to buy to run a bone controller on pc
Personally, it's the battery. I fucking hate recharging those and planning my play time around them. Even with a secondary controller it sucks.
Had one and wish I didn't. Its much cheaper in price than the official ones and you can definitely feel it. Dpad is even worse than the original. Triggers were extremely lose in their housing. 0/10 would not recommend.
Not through the official program, maybe something 3rd part
I agree with this. The new dpad and closer face buttons are worth the price. The bumper buttons work a bit differently though. You have to press down on the left side of the left bumper and vice versa for the other bumper. It's annoying at first but you get used to it.
I have a ds3 it is a pain to set up and most games dont work correctly or expect 360
The Xbone pad is better as a controller but has some problems with drivers in win 10
360 pad is just plug and play
Anyone here have moments where their SCP Driver/DS3 freaks the fuck out suddenly? After plugging the usb cable back in, it works fine, but bluetooth is spotty as hell for some reason.
Problem with the controller is the FUCKING STICK DRIFTING!
>Need to slowly sneak in game
>Tap the joystick left
>Character keeps moving left
>Recalibrated controller 90 times
>Have to remap keybinds to use dpad instead
>MFW
I have 4 of these controllers, and they all do it, the fix is real simple, though, you just smash open the controller and apply some duct tape and rubber bands and some glue and it's perfect!
That's because you did not install SCP driver or any other 360 controller wrapper.
Games where you want a D-pad and a second set of buttons on the back where you might not want triggers. Also the bumpers aren't great to rest your hands on. So usually fast paced PSX games with regards to the back buttons.
i have both and the Xbox controller is better. by far
Yes you can
>lot of tweaking
not really you just need wiinusoft and you're good to go once you pair it
>Dat rubber band "fix"
I love the Xbox 360 controller, but holy fuck the drifting drove me nuts in games like Splinter Cell, no idea how to fix it without using some ghetto rig shit.
that controller has some black magic in the battery department, shit lasts for like a month
used it for 1.5 months and the left bumper just crapped out on me. the contact is fucked and I need to press down HARD to get it to register, or else it just glitches with phantom clicks. went to check the warranty and discovered that they try to pull a fast one on their customers by making their website a convoluted piece of shit to navigate and giving you false server errors that encourage you to give up. because of these shitty business practices I'm never buying Microshit ever again.
xbox one controller, its like a 360 controller upgraded and it run natively with 99.9 of windows game.
Its the same shit just way overpriced. The D-pad was not improved at all, the same shitty internals for the rocker design is in place.
The funniest part of the Crowb video is that he still thinks it's the best controller on the market. Inital runs had problems but now it's bulletproof. And there's always the Lunar White or Forza 10th Anniversary pad if you want the comfy grips.
Not sure if that is just the current city state of controllers or the Elite is just that good
No because the D-pad is trash. The XB1 D-pad is even worse since its loud as fuck.
Honestly I wish I could just use my DS4 but it won't connect to my pc properly.
>The XB1 D-pad is even worse since its loud as fuck.
The fuck? Have you actually played with it?
>The XB1 D-pad is even worse
What games are you playing where this even annoys you? Most games implement some kind of dead zone for the analog sticks. It used to be an issue for me on a lot of PS2 games but I haven't really run into the problem since the next generation came out.
Yes I'm not even kidding.
I'd rather use the mushy piece of crap 360 one than have to listen to CLACKCLACKCLACKCLACK when I'm mashing the dpad.
imputmapper work fine here.
even with blutooth
What is dead zone?
Mainly emulation, Super Smash Bros it's the worst in, same with some platformers like New Super Mario Bros, and some Mario Party minigames
It's insanely annoying and makes enjoying emulation hard when the damn analog is drifting all the time.
My cousins have it, and even when they really take care of their stuff; an inside piece of plastic of one the triggers broke.
You're quite an autist. It's not even that loud.
I hope you never go near a keyboard or an arcade stick.
Sony has dedicated 15 years to fucking up the Dual Shock 2, so kind of.
Terrible b8
I prefer the Logitech f710
No, the Xbone's is.
Are you talking about the dolphin emulator? Because they have deadzone settings. You should really try them out.
I like wireless but I think that the ones who hate it is because they are into competitive games or believe that it's not accurate enough.
