The Nep games are basically just a JRPG where all the playable characters are over-the-top cute girls and there's a lot of self-referential meta humor involved. Neptune herself constantly refers to herself as the protagonists, references her world as being part of a game, etc. Other than that, it's pretty standard JRPG stuff. Bad guys show up and do things, the good guys have to stop them, etc.

Basically, the four main characters are all goddesses who represent video game consoles. I'm not gonna get into the plot and such because I don't want to spoil anything, but the games are actually a lot of fun if you like the humor and think the characters are entertaining. If you don't like the characters then you probably won't like the games.
