ITT: Best boss fights in their respective games

I seriiously want the ladder segment redone in vr. Would be fucking jarring.

What a meme

Almost done with mgs4.. where do I go after that? I've completed mgs1, 2 and 3 so far.

people need to stop asking retarded fucking questions like this. Just play everything in release order. Why would you play it any other way? If you play ahead you're only going to miss references and callbacks or not get what the fuck is happening in the story

Retard. Peace Walker next, then GZ then V. kys

Before you beat MGS4, play Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2.

why do people pretend portable ops doesn't exist?

because it was retconned?

cause it's not in the Legacy collection
cause it was not directed by Kojimbo

...

He should have played Portable Ops before 4 anyway.

>recommends PW and V
>calls others retards and tells them to kill themselves
lol

well hes not wrong, playing PW & V before IV is the correct order.

they're canon and should be played at least once, kys you fucking plebe

first of all, it's semicanon. the overarching plot is still canon and pretty important

again, and?

Because it doesn't really contribute anything to the story, and I don't think Kojima's ever really considered it aside from how it sets up MGS3's radio team becoming the Patriots. Not only that, but even on its own terms PO's is kind of dogshit in most respects. Python was kind of neat, though.

>they're canon
MGSV is not canon.

>it's not canon cause I didn't like it xd
kys

Fun fact: the lights on the walls in the ladder room aren't actually lights, they're baked in the texture.

one of the few good things about this piece of shit 'game'
I love how the MGS4 segment of the fight is just 'press square for cutscene', couldn't fit any better

This bossfight redeemed the shitty Act 3 and the mostly bad bosses (besides laughing octopus).
Such a great way to end Solid Snakes story.

>MGS1
psycho mantis (this is the hardest one to pick because i loved all of them)
>MGS2
solidus snake
>MGS3
the boss
>MGS4
liquid ocelot

>the overarching plot is still canon and pretty important

no it isnt.

>ebin facebook memes
Fuck off.

Yes it is. The only reason people say PO isn't canon is because they didn't have a PSP to play it on, and they don't know the story so they just spew shit to fit in.

How do i emulate MGS3

>The only reason people say PO isn't canon is because they didn't have a PSP to play it on

thats retarded because PW is canon

>they're canon and should be played at least once
one is flat out bad, and the other is a game where the disappointment outweighs what's good.
if I could go back and play the series for the first time again I wouldn't play either of them.

you fuck off you plebe cunt

But it's kind of strange how little Portable Ops gets referenced, and it's also interesting how many contradictions its story suggests. The story works better without it entirely. Kojima doesn't even reference it as being part of his "saga", and even when it would make sense to reference the events of Portable Ops in Peace Walker no one ever talks about it despite it being a major event in Big Boss's life. At the very least, more of it is non-canon than canon.

It's a somewhat trivial story either way though.

it just blows my mind they could cook that up but couldn't devise a satisfying conclusion to MGSV

it was included in the HD edition for PS3 and 360

....so? people were still saying it was canon before then.

>it's semicanon.

some of its canon and some of it isnt, so who gives a fuck doesnt help that the gameplay is shit

What contradictions?

Kojima himself said it was barely canon, just insomuch as anything that didn't contradict the games he directed was canon. all we can glean was that Big Boss founded FOXHOUND with Campbell, concocted the idea for Outer Heaven and eventually met Kaz. everything else is non-canon.

HA HA HA I GET IT, LE EBIN STAIR BOSS HHA HA HAHAHA SO EBIN, UPBOATED XDDD

Just fuck off with your Reddit crap, retard.

thanks for the bump shitposters

literally every game contradicts the previous games
the whole lore is a joke since they keep building around the events of MG and MG2, yet these games themselves become less and less canon

Seriously, I enjoy the plot of MGS (the first couple games, anyway) but even in MGS1 you had massive sweeping retcons to the MSX games where grey fox helped snake out the whole time and bonded with him (actually you talk to him once and then never see him again) and big boss revealed that he''s snakes dad before burning to death in metal gear 2 (never happened)

>posting the edited version

Are you one of those faggots that think MGS4 is the worst and MGS3 is the best? Because you are factually wrong.

Ocelot killing the CIA director implied to be the same one he answered to in MGS3, despite the fact that Coldman is revealed to be that DCI in Peace Walker. You can rationalize out of this, but it's clear what the intention was.

There's also the fact that Big Boss immediately refers back to his conversation with Granin when discussing Metal Gear. But he also encountered Metal Gear at San Hieronymo. Wouldn't that be worth bringing up?

What the fuck ever happened to Gene's resources he gave Big Boss access to? At the start of Peace Walker MSF is hanging on by a thread.

I guess I made a mistake by calling these outright contradictions, but they comprise the bulk of Portable Ops's narrative heft, so their exclusion from Peace Walker is weird. They're inconsistencies, at the very least.

not him but MGS2 is the worst and MGS3 is the best

There's actually no indication in MGS1 that that's when Big Boss told Snake about the relation, IIRC. It could've happened during his days in FOXHOUND for all we know.

Regardless, the core of MG1 and MG2 remain canon by way of being outright confirmed in later games. Portable Ops? Not so much.

>There's actually no indication in MGS1 that that's when Big Boss told Snake about the relation, IIRC

Campbell : There was no way you could. It happened in Zanzibar 6 years ago. Only Snake and I know the real truth of what happened there.

Naomi : So, is it true? Was Big Boss really your father?

Snake : That's what he said. That's all I know.
it was said in the context of MG2 so reasonably that's when he was told.

Youre right about 1 and 2, but timeline wise pw is quite a few years after when po says it happens. He probably ended giving it to zero before their offscreen falling out

Either way po is the only game that even tries to show why the mgs3 crew became the patriots outside of the stupid powerpoint presentations in mgs4

Plebs with no taste will deny this.
>best design
>best difficulty level
>haunting soundtrack
>massively varied moveset
>fun to fight
>a legitimate challenge at low level
Abyss Watchers did have a better soundtrack though.

please explain why
I honestly want to put all you MGS4 fanboys in a theather and let you rewatch the 30 hours of cutscenes while they have to keep a straight face

The "There was no way you could" was specifically about Snake killing his father, and Naomi asks if it's true that Big Boss was his father. It's a reasonable assumption to make that this happened during MG2, but it wouldn't be a contradiction for him to have been told at any other time.

The gist of my point still stands, though. Snake being told Big Boss is related to him, even if we assume that it occurred during MG2's events, is a comparatively minor detail.

>factually
No
>everything else
Also no. How do people even like mgs4, its 2/5s of a game with shit bosses and 3/5s of dumb story exposition.

>Either way po is the only game that even tries to show why the mgs3 crew became the patriots
Sure, and because MGS4 revisits this it's one of the things that's canon about Portable Ops. But it's also the only real thing with any confirmation, and the inconsistencies elsewhere are pretty damning.

Not an easy pick because literally every boss fight in AW would be easily be the best boss fight in any other game.

you stop playing the series

seriously dont ruin a good thing, peace walker and mobile ops are ok but 5 is hot garbage

i actually liked the sad wolf one though

handheld ones are eh

mgs5 was unfinished as fuck so i cant recommend you buy it

play acid

>handheld ones are eh
Ghost Babel is fantastic.

i like the lamb fight but by the time you reach it you are usually stupidly strong already or you are headed to the chest instead since its much safer

i wish there was more reason to go to the dark room

hush is alright but i do not like the defense scaling at all

Also Ocelot killing the remaining Philosophers and the foundation of the Patriots.

Fucking summer overtime
