Looks like cheap twitch bait

Looks like an Amnesia clone. mite b cool

It looks good.

What would Shinji think?

Fucking come on.

I wanted a shakeup with RE but not like this. Give me something different than just making yet another twitch survival horror walking sim/stealth game.

Shit, I'd take open-world over this bullshit. At least that could be cool and would have actual gameplay.

>How can I make this into a console shooter that controls like shit?

Agreed

I'd rather have this than the continuous rape and rehash of the original series. They can still release something else different from this later.

Pretty clever, cashing in on the PT style horror people were interested in.

The new metal gear looks more like resident evil.

jp.ign.com/metal-gear-survive/5680/news/metal-gear-survive

we want the amnesia audience

The game's still going to have guns, herbs, an inventory system, etc. Just because it's first person, doesn't mean it's going to be bad. RE4-drones get out.

Maybe they should actually show that, then.

i dont want hide and seek first person game
there is no gameplay

and a first person resident evil sounds terrible as well

resident evil wasnt about zombies it was always about shitty puzzle solving and over the top monsters
now its a woman with a lantern

>new Metal Gear trying to be modern Resident Evil
>modern Resident Evil trying to be spooky

RE4-drones pls leave.

>resident evil wasnt about zombies it was always about shitty puzzle solving and over the top monsters
Well we have shitty puzzles. If we get a reveal of monsters, you have a more Resident Evil game than everything after RE2.

i dont like re4

You realize old school RE wasn't anything like these modern walking sim horror games either right?

No, it was about zombie, or zombie esque monsters

Frictional Games perfected the horror genre, now the big boys are copying them. This is how horror games should be.

They've said expressly that the game will have combat and healing.

>the grating sound of someone fumbling a camera and slapping their fingers all over the mic
>Shakey cam
>In a horror setting audibly and loudly repeating shit like "I needa hide, oh no I needa hide" "what is this I'm so scaaaaared"
>"If you find this that means im blah blah"
>Constant loud breathing coming from the character into the camera mic
>Literally every hinge in the county creaks
>Hiding behind a crate from a slowly patrolling enemy
>Enemy is rando with a messed up face
>Character has a loud ear piercing panicky attack at every environmental movement
>"Huhuhuuhuhuhuhuhu-*wheeze*- huhuh I'm really scared right now guys, are you scared? I-i'm s-s-super scared"

Like I know its their game and they can do what they want but Jesus Christ could they fucking do one thing different. I'm surprised they don't just go the whole way to cliche town and the girl yell "g-g-g-g-gGHOOOOOOOOOOOOST" when the spooky lady shows up

This is so bad. This and the new Metal Gear, oh my god

Its all about immersion user. Fp, slow walking, shallow breathing and limited light honestly makes for great horror immersion. The old resident evils sucked. Stupid ass controls mixed with a faggot ass camers that attaches itself to a corner on the wall makes a good game to a loser whos caught up in nostalgia about his childhood. Dont you realize eveeything you liked as a child sucked? Time to grow with the world around you

Again, they should show that.

Are we getting a demo at Gamescom too? Or no?

Oh, for a second there, I thought your post wasn't obvious bait.

From my understanding, these are VHS footage tapes you play through of missing people. You will probably play as another, the protagonist to uncover the secrets of the Bakers and the missing people. I do think they'll bring in some new virus or an old virus, as usual for RE games.

RE has always been different genres with each title but key genre was always about survival. I like how Capcom evolves their title with time, you can't keep rehashing Re1 with sequels.

It realised the path it was going down was god awful and alienating classic fans so they changed the formula for the better. The only people who disagree are people born in the 21st century.

That looks really bad.

It's just awkward. It's supposed to be scary, but there's nothing even remotely disturbing in it. It's like watching a crappy stage play, or a very lazy haunted house ride.

most likely TGS

>it's another "hide and wait for the game to happen" episode

just as bad as the action shlock the series had become

That entire post was serious, user. Dont just brush my facts under the carpet. You need to learn to deal with the truth. The truth that Resident Evil WAS a garbage series and that this new one will bring in a whole new audience. Will bring a whole new experince to old players who are willing to accept change.

Remember when people saw RE7 gameplay and thought "What the fuck happened to Resident Evil?"
It may be drastic, but you people wanted something different than the Michael Bay shootyshooty-bangbang, and now you're getting it.

You only have yourselves to blame.

>All these fucking fags and their opinions on what an RE game SHOULD be

lel
RE has done everything from very early on

BATTLE GAME etc
This series has done so much over the years that changing it's formula is the norm.

So easy to spot the secondaries

t.shill

Yeah where the fuck are the meat-zombie-transformers?

Im not going to buy it, but that doesnt mean i cant defend it.

Natalia thanks to alex wesker is all about that fear.

I bet the new virus is a version of the one in revelations 2.

>Im not going to buy it
well duh, you'll get a free copy for your efforts

>You only have yourselves to blame.
If only because Capcom is retarded as fuck.

Only THEY would look at all the criticisms of RE6 and decide that this would be the ONLY direction they could go in. Because Capcom isn't creative anymore. Let's be real, they could reinvent the wheel with RE yet again, and for a third time it could become influential again. But they won't, because Capcom wants to try to play it safe yet again by chasing an audience that isn't necessarily their series' traditional audience.

Capcom can never truly do anything completely right, let's be real here.

How many of those were spinoffs?

Thank god. If it's my fault that RE7 has finally moved from it's post 2015 steven seagal movie roots to an amnesia clone, I will happily take all the blame.

Battle game was basically Raid Mode in a bare bones fashion for RE1

I'll watch Huber play through it on Twitch while doing cardio or something.

Looks like a fun movie.

Best post

Yeah. PT was basically free advertising for this game.

Well how many of those were spinoffs or extra game modes?

I'm torn about this, on one hand it's trying to be spooky which is good since the action-based ones felt wrong & ungfitting, but on the other hand it's really Amnesia/PT-esque and doesn't feel like a Resident Evil game to me.

Many of them.
The numbered games have also changed a lot with each one, all becoming more action oriented with each new installment.
Them changing in a different direction is still them trying different things.

Why couldn't they have just made a new Outbreak instead?

>those brown nosed comments

>The numbered games have also changed a lot with each one, all becoming more action oriented with each new installment.
Well yeah. But to be fair, they weren't wildly different from one another until 5/6 and now 7, unlike what you were implying.

>they go all out with the Resident Evil games/spinoffs
>Outbreak for people who want a co-operative classic RE experience
>BSAA TPS spinoff for people who want a co-operative 5/6 experience
>REmake 2 for people who want old school RE
>instead of RE7 being what it is, they reinvent the wheel in a different way entirely
Why the fuck doesn't Capcom just do something like this instead of greenlighting shit like Umbrella Corps?

This marketing campaign PT tiier shit was okay the first time but this is getting old

unless the game really is like that then its fucking trash. either way im not hyped.

>In a horror setting audibly and loudly repeating shit like "I needa hide, oh no I needa hide" "what is this I'm so scaaaaared"
This shit right here sealed the deal for me. No way I'm getting this.

>DON'T WORRY GUYS IT'S JUST A DEMO
>THIS ISN'T WHAT THE FINAL GAME WILL BE LIKE
>IT'S TOTALLY NOT AN OUTLAST CLONE, I SWEAR

I wish I could shove it back in the faces of all the Anons shitposting when the demo came out.

The game looks what I thought TEW would've been... excluding the lack of weapons, which, I admit, is a pretty significant difference.

>What the fuck happened to X?
>"We want the Y audience."

Always.

Literally who?

I like it. The tone an setting makes sense for an RE game. The "tapes" mechanic is cool and refreshing. BUT, I am worried about it being the sole mechanic. I really am hoping this game is RE1 in first person, with the tapes being a new puzzle/lore mechanic. But the developers stating that the main character is more of an average person doesn't really allow for that, unless they become a bad ass throughout.

Other than that, I am glad to see they are adding some varied game play in the tapes themselves. I was worried it was just going to be cut scenes where where you could move.

This looks better than 4, 5 and 6. Turning RE into an action game ruined it. This might finally revive the series.

>Reviving the series means turning it into Amnesia/Outlast clone

Monkey's Paw.

>we want Silent Hill's audience

I don't mind the action part, but I don't like when it takes the focus.
They are similar, but I wouldn't call RE7 a clone, that's a bit of an exaggeration. But, this game could still be shit, I'm reserving judgment until we see gameplay outside of the "tapes".

Not to get anyone's hopes up, but what if you play as an established RE character in third person outside of the tapes?

Lol at all of you RE4 action cucks, Resident evil is finally going back to its survival horror roots.

see
I bet you watch people stream, faggot.

It got great again.

Yeah, RE's routes, an FPS where you run around from a Friday the 13th-style unkillable monster

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE POINT OF THAT GODDAMN FINGER CAPCOM

I'm just going to chime in and say isn't that the point? All the "tape" segments of the game seem to be about horror found footage tropes so far. I'm more interested in the story implications, like who fuck the lady is and why she said "I can't let her catch me AGAIN."

I think the demo was just a lifted section from the full game. The finger is probably used later on.

There is no point to it but to show off that there will be puzzles in the game.

After 6 and the spinoffs recently im optimistic about 7

I enjoyed the rail shooters on the wii.

>found footage tropes
There's a reason most of those type of movies are shit. Listening to a character state what should be obvious while breathing loudly isn't scary.

Fucking Re4 killed this series and at least it's something new it's not another generic third person shooter with tons of protagonists who can lay waste to small armies by themselves.

If there are good puzzles, spooky atmosphere, and some decent mechanics then im cool with it.

I'm pretty sure it's designed in mind with the fact 0 and Remake sold well

Kill yourself, faggarino.

Kill yourself, nuREfag

>meme prefixes

I would agree about them not being scary, but that's what I am trying to get across. The tapes are obviously there for story and plot purposes, it's just there to introduce us to Marguerite and giving us a little more context to the the whole plantation.

Also in my opinion, RE's scary parts have always been the jump scares anyways aside from some unsettling journal entries.

>shift to action

Resident Evil has always had action.

Fucking autist acting like RE was always 100% pure horror.

>People claiming RE was always action-packed.

????

Go play 1 again like i did recently.

Its fucking BORING AS SHIT

>RE has always been different genres with each title
Did you mean gameplay style? Because that would be a wrong statement either way.
0-3+C:V were all the same style
4-6+Revelations were all the same style
You're gay

>0-3+C:V were all the same style
>4-6+Revelations were all the same style

Ah yes, because those are the only RE games ever made.

>don't like RE when it's too action-packed
>don't like RE when it's too scary

Gee no wonder no one panders to you sad fucks, you're the pickiest children ever

It's still goofy as fuck, and I mean that in the worst possible way.

>Steven Seagal still alive
WTF?

>"H-He didn't mention EVERY single Resident Evil game!"
>"ARGUMENT INVALIDATED!!!!!!!!"
You're still gay

I wonder what a new Onimusha would look like if this is what Resident Evil could turn into.

I get what you're saying. Horror is known to ride that line. Guess it comes down to your suspension of belief.

Umbrella corps was made by airsoft faggots for airsoft faggots.

Nioh

Well you did say a different genre with each title when it clearly isn't the case. Even among the spin-offs it's not as if they're truly unique either, Outbreak still plays like a classic RE game just with multiplayer, and last I checked there were at least 4 different light gun games.

Yeah no shit, the original games had a great balance of the two.

P.T., Amnesia and other "scary" "games".

>game is 5 months away
>still haven't seen any real gameplay outside of those quick shots from the sony E3 reveal

game is going to be shit.

Resident Evil has been:

>5 fixed camera survival horror games
>5 over the shoulder action shooters
>2 rail shooters
>3 of whatever-the-fuck-Gun-Survivor-was
>6 live action movies
>4 CGI movies
>7 books
>5 comics
>5 volumes of manga
and even a fucking stage play.

Enemies have varied from zombies, to parasites, to sea monsters, to lizard men, to ghosts (kind of). The plots and overarching lore has been cheesy, over the top and repetitive enough even to make Marvel and DC chuckle.

Setting have ranged from mansions, to cities, to underground research labs, to graveyards, to cruise ships, to the African bush.

What is so different about this one that it is such a bastardization of this clearly focussed series?

>walking simulators
>gameplay
ayyy

Horror games are the hottest meme among the Youtube gaming audience.

It's going to sell more than the other RE games combined because it has epic jumpscares in it that Markiplier and Pewdiepie will act out in their let's play videos.
