But going remaster was the best possible choice for them, at least for now. All MGS fans would love to play previous MGS with TPP engine and gameplay.

See, they could have done the survival thing pretty well. You're a random MSF soldier who survived Skull Face's attack and you have to survive being hunted by XOF. You get to deal with the years between Ground Zeroes and the Phantom Pain until you eventually end up one of the wandering MSF soldiers that is in TPP, but no. It just had to be fucking zombies.

The actually smart thing for the continuation of the series would have been a complete reboot with new characters in a new setting in a new story but retaining the basic premise of the series. This is what Kojima himself intended for the series.
I find it hard to give a shit about Survive since it's probably just some glorified DLC side content for MGSV, but it's not a good future for the series. There's really no reason to tie it to Metal Gear if it's indeed being released standalone.
