It's really hard for western audiences to really get emotional over jap stuff anymore, barriers and what not. And don't say kojima, that guys a westaboo
>jrpg is film
Often more story driven and grand in its story telling.
>shooters, multiplayer, platformers, ect movies
Generally just there for entertainment. It's good, but rarely goes past the Baisic story if any
>mobile is flick
Utter trash. Stuff made for brain dead people just looking for somthing to do.

the soul of a videogame is the challenge.
the less clear an objective and purpose is in a videogame, the less videogame it is.
i have to agree wit this.

videogame =! roleplay
a videogame is defined by challenge. Those challenges are not just of character, otherwise, they have little point to being digital or even fully interactive.
a game that asks you to have good coordination and reflexes, or to have good math, reading, perception skills or just a very proactive and daring attitude and patience is just as much of a game as an RPG that has "deep storytelling" and "choices with repercussions".
S2g everyday Sup Forums finds a new way to be pretentious shitters
>Game V
>Game SURVIVAL
>rating videogames by story instead of actual gameplay merits
Unlike kino, in videogames gameplay is the key feature, not the story. So using story as a defining category is fucking retarded, and following that logic it makes trash like TLoU a game of the year, which it is not.
Which it is not.
Which it is not.

No it doesn't, TLoU is also incredibly poorly written.
nigga don't you talk dirty about Mulholand Drive
you hear me?
But user, DaS has nothing "best" when it comes to souls games.
It doesn't have the best bosses, that'd be Bloodborne.
It doesn't have the best armosphere, that's DeS.
It doesn't have the best PvP, that's a tie between DaS2 and BB, depending on whether you prefer more freedom/variety or more slick mechanics.
It also doesn't have the most polished online mechanics, that'd be DaS3.
There is nothing "best" about it.
