Xenoblade

Let's talk about Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles X and the future of the franchise.

Does anyone else here feel like the games are both amazing, but simply different? I understand the disappointment with XCX coming off of XBC, but that's because you're looking for the wrong things in the wrong places. I hate to be that fag who says "y-you have to play 50 hours before it gets good!!" but in this case it has some merit. It takes a while to really click. Exploring Mira, doing side quests, hunting the tons of cool tyrants at the end of the game, it's really something else. I also think the story was pretty good, if not living up to it's full potential. Elma totally carries the game in terms of characters, but I think she does a good job of it. And the music overall is good, but the worst tracks play the most often, which is a huge shame. It's definitely underrated as hell, but in a way it's kind of warranted.

At any rate, what do you feel going forward? Some people believe they'll make a direct sequel to XCX. I disagree, but feel free to discuss. Also Takahashi says they'll put more focus on story this time around, so that's something to look forward to.

X was trash an incredibly overrated

It was also downgraded

I wanted to fuck the Potato

Is playing XBC from the wiiu e-shop a viable option if you pc is too shit to emulate it?

I don't see why not.

>Xeno collection

Xenosaga has literally NOTHING to do with Xenoblade, you retard.

I liked XCX

They have the same director.

and they're both video games. and they both start with X :^)

Somebody never beat Xenoblade.

...

Where's Xenogear?

I liked XCX so much I'm actually replaying it at the moment. Something about the gameplay loop of it is very satisfying to me for some reason. Plot's pretty trash tho, but sidequests make up for it. I've always liked side content more than main content in games anyhow.

And yet it's still better than FF15, even in terms of graphics.

Really stimulates the old grey matter.

And? Might as well get Super Mario and Star Fox games and call it the "Mario collection".

>pulling shit outta the ass
Cute.

>Xeno collection
>it's a collection of Xeno games

I don't see what's wrong.

I really liked X. Nice open world and it always felt I was progressing in the world unlike most open world which makes me feel like I'm just wondering doing nothing for hours on end. Also some of the side quests are damn good even if the main story isn't. Sadly I quit before flying because I just didn't really enjoy the Skell fighting and really only cared about it to get to new areas.

>doesn't even bother to object
Well, I guess that confirms it.
Sorry kid, skimming a wiki page doesn't actually substitute for playing the game.

Where is your copy of Xenogears?

I really like X

I know right?
Add Xenoclash to the collection.

Wonder why only X got one of those, when nearly every big game the last ten years has been downgraded

I thought X was great and the sequel would be great if it was an MMO. add a 2nd NLA size town where the lifehold core was, and add one large central beach/tropical/coral reef area where there used to be empty water in between the continents. 32 player servers with trading system and call it a day

Xenoblade X was the worst jrpg I played in recent years.
It won't get a sequel.

You forgetting it also got censored because Nintendo kids.

I'm still fucking mad that only Xenosaga II was released in PAL regions, while I and III were totally left out. And Xenogears never got a release here either.

I think you mean upgraded, unless you want to change that image to include shots from the actual game instead of comparing two different pre-release trailers

That sounds fucking awful.

At the end of the day I would much rather have a more XC type game set in XCX universe, but I still enjoy the MMO idea because of how single-player-MMO XCX felt, espescially in post game

You havent played many jrpgs then you faggot

Seemed to me like the story in the final moments of the game was really looking like this is eventually going to lead into Gears, with names changed because copyright.

Next game is probably finding the Zohar on Mira which accounts for the strangeness of the planet and is eventually used in conjunction with the Kadomony, er... i mean the Lifehold Core, to create the Deus system to wage war against the Ganglion/Samaar and Ghost.

If I wanted to get into early xeno games, would it be a good idea to skip gears for now and go straight to saga? I keep hearing that Xenogears has poor gameplay and I'm afraid of starting with a game that drags.

>and I'm afraid of starting with a game that drags.
>wants to play Xenosaga

I've got some bad news for you

A lot of people say XCX ended on a cliffhanger, but I don't really think so. It was open and vague so that people could try to come up with their own explanations. Another common opinion is that Mira is the world Shulk created at the end of XBC.

And because of that, I don't think they'll make Xenoblade 3 a direct sequel. When you make something like that, it either goes against expectations and makes people mad, or it goes exactly as expected and nobody is surprised. I think the next game will be once again separate characters and scenario with a few subtle connections to previous games.

>putting xenoblade in the same series as xenogears

lol
Gears and Saga are a completely different series produced by Soraya Saga and her husband.
Blade is its own thing that her husband started in Monolith Soft, it only has the Xeno in the name as tribute.
Always leave it to Sup Forums to be oblivious about games.

OP here, I just wanted an image with both Xenoblade and Xenoblade Chronicles X together. I Googled for like three whole minutes and this was the best I could find.

Are you telling me that saga's gameplay isn't engaging either or the that story drags over 3 games?

Saga was originally intended as an Episode 1 as described by Perfect Works.

I think that X now replaces it.

That the story flounders of the course of the three games. Game 2 in particularly if I'm remembering right.

XBC is one of the best games and got me hyped for X, but X sucks
>enter a new area and everything is 50 lvs higher than you
>lost in menus
>the same goddam bug Thats in every area that disguises its self a a plant
>lost in menus
>menus

>>enter a new area and everything is 50 lvs higher than you

I liked that aspect. It made this hostile planet actually feel threatening. You had to be careful when exploring.

ITT great games that went from Soby to neegratier console for.....reasons.

Looking at you fucking Monster Hunter.
