I've been wanting to start a generic LP style thing for the longest time but I have no idea how to start
youtube.com
I've been told this is my best video so far and it's going good, 260 subs and lots of positive feedback :)
I've been making mashups recently. Anyone have any thoughts on them? Criticism would be well appreciated.

(I know the last one is a little rough, though)
Going well, I suppose.
Mostly just use it for stream vods, and Fightcade replays, so I'm happy with what views I get.
Subscribe. Now.
anyone?
How do I go about making video essays about vidya?
emulating others the finding your own style.
If you're asking about formatting then just do it in essay style but make sure the visuals contribute to your argument and aren't just background noise
What good video essay guys would you recommend?

>want to make a fighting game tutorial
>can't into video editing
Surely it can't be that hard, can it?
losing a lot of subs and views going down a lot
Im back to posting daily again at least.
>Tfw stopped making vidya uploads and now just want to turn my channel into a piano channel
youtube.com
Anyone have any vidya song requests. Will upload in ~2 weeks depending on song's difficulty.
Do you know what dead means?
youtube.com
Its going well, at 500ish subscribers, I do game reviews and a little bit more.
Recently I have been doing freelance work for Bethesda too.
>3 minutes of watch time per view
dude, seriously? make longer videos, if you can.youtube algorithms eat that shit up.
congrats on being one of the few who put effort into their channel intros
I usually do 10m videos and then hour compilations. Then a complete video like 4 hours long. Then maybe a best of 1 hour long video.
Simple editing is best.
I wanted to make a gaming channel but would people ever care about reviewing games that other people have already covered? Should I just stream and edit 4 hour game play and turn it into lets plays?
Anyone wanna give me advice on how to fix the last song?
Subtle editing and removing pointless filler is best.
Think like...avoiding dead silent air if you were hosting a radio show but instead of talking its a video feed.
Thanks, I only used Premier Pro to make it. Nice and simple.
Gotcha. I mostly need to do text on the video, which shouldn't be too hard.
The rest I can use photoshop for, like a rundown at the end.
Non that user, but what do you mean exactly by algorithms? I know that longer videos can have ads show up several times per video.
I personally make heavily edited videos where a couple of seconds of video ends up taking 15 or so minutes of editing and thinking. Doing long videos is difficult because I have to actually come up with A LOT more handcrafted content.
That said, I recently made the longest video I've ever made which was 8 minutes long, and after I reached about 10K views and stopped shilling it on relevant forums and reddit, in about 4 or so days time a sudden, constant surge of views began, and it's still going hard as that video just hit 40K.
Is this what you mean by algorithms? Any insight in that system would be greatly appreciated.
That's what ive been doing. Just playing the game and ending the videos in the same way you'd end a scene in a movie or a play.
youtube.com
ex:
>zombies attacking the base
>run to base fight all the dudes
>save the princess
>sorry but the princess is in another castle
>video ends
Please do not do Let's plays. The market is oversaturated with that, and it's horrible, low effort content. Don't add to that steaming pile of shit.
There's a really crazy amount of channels that made it within the last year, from zero to fucking hero. Not a single one of them does Let's plays, at least not primarily.
What isn't the market oversaturated with?
Everyone does YouTube nowadays.
HECK OFF
youtube.com
Pretty generic then I got lazy about uploading. Then I also lost my footage. Now I just cba to do anything
Are there any vidya youtubers that aren't eceleb trash?
youtube.com
I'll shill my own channel.
What about group lets plays? Not so formal.
See
Yeah, everyone who isn't a celeb?
Fuck you and whatever's in that circle
Slowly but surely, dying.
LOL
it says fuck the colour blind hahaha
I am curious: what kind of channels and what content?
Do it, I'm not knowledgeable on music but that sounded extremely nice.
>Anyone have any vidya song requests.
Any of these:

I'm not even that heavily disabled, meanie but thanks
Delet this
Yes, Youtube is bigger than ever, but Let's plays take the absolute minimal amount of effort to make, period. The only thing below is reaction videos where all those dumb shits do is watch a video in it's entirety and chuckle once or twice.
People see that it takes no effort and see all these big Youtubers who made it years ago in that, and are like, hey that looks easy, I can do that too. And they are absolutely right, they can. Them, and the million others who had the same idea.
For fuck's sake, you even use the same thumbnail and just put a different number on it. Others come up with video ideas, write down scripts, painstakingly edit their videos to near perfection, and they actually make it if they are persistent and smart. What do you do? Turn on the webcam, and play whatever shitty game you want to play while talking to yourself.
If you want to do this kind of thing, and think your personality and acting is good enough to make people gather, go on Twitch and stream. That's live entertainment and people can interact with you.
Those kind of videos have a better chance because it's an effort to get several people to do this at the same time, but in general the same shit still applies to you. The only way I can see this working out for you is by setting up a couch with a camera where all of you play the game in question IRL, and that needs a starting budget for a proper camera and lights. And putting up effort towards making a proper intro.
I've been animating live on it, seems to have attracted a crowd (and people wanna see R&M more).
im doing silent long plays friend, and you can't stop me
>being proud of this
Good. Just been bothered between me being compared to Cryaotic. Someone earlier said I sounded similar to bunnyhop. Though, I don't know who that is.
>Telling him what's in the circle
Fucking newfags.
Heyo boyo
Ok
I try to do gameplay and "longplays", no commentary because fuck pic related. I'm having fun and I think that's what's important.
I would honestly love to hear your piano version of this, even though it's gonna be difficult to translate.
I mean if speedy can do it, why cant I right?
Because you're literally going out of your way to sound like Cryaotic, user. Don't give us that WOOOOOOW I DIDNT EVEN DO ANYTHING shit. Neither you nor him talk like that in regular day conversations. Which is fine. Nothing wrong with showmanship but come on.
Hola
Just to throw a couple off the top of my head:
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
I don't really like all of them, but I just know they made it in a short amount of time. Anyone throwing out the argument that the Youtube train sailed long ago is just flat out wrong. This is really the best time because anyone can monetize their videos, and have videos of any length with custom thumbnails on top of that. These things were reserved strictly for Youtube partners back in the day. It's one of the reasons there's so many good content creators coming out of the woodwork, because the opportunity is right there.
Nobody is stopping you. Doing videos for friends, with friends is fun. As long as you don't plan gaining a decently sized audience.
There's always been no-commentary walkthroughs of games, even going further than 6 years back. There's less of them than commentary fags sure, but all you really do is look up a specific thing you're stuck on and find the video with the most views and take a peek on the likes to see if the guy who made it actually showed what the title promised.
Even among non-commentary channels the competition is high. Many try to do 1080p Ultra-settings smooth 60fps videos just to stand out.
Someone, anyone make good videos on spooky obscure games.
>youtube.com
Thats real fucking groovy. I'll try find an arrangement if one exists. Otherwise I'll just make my own. Ty user. I still need to play FF X. The HD editions are shit right?
Didn't the H3 guy do something before that? I feel like i saw him before somewhere ages ago.
Dude, I know a couple of YouTubers like that.
You know, people like PewDiePie and Markiplier
Which ones? I've been thinking of making a series for this
No.
>The HD editions are shit right?
They're fine, there is a degree of fan arsehurt about the music and face models but they're fine. It can be nice to listen to the differences though and the PC and PS4 versions let you use the classic OST
He did these really wierd video.exe edits of random shit. A lot of his editing experience comes from that, it definitely helped him get to where he is today.
His audience today actually goes and revisits a lot of his old shit, so it might appear to you that he was just as successful long ago, but he wasn't. His content was pretty obscure but often caught on.
I don't know, I usually like RPGMaker stuff personally but I'd imagine there'd be a decent amount of obscure stuff in the PS1/N64 gen of gaming. Maybe even some unknown Jap only horror games as well. I also wouldn't really mind popular stuff like Silent Hill or RE1-3 being shown off either.
I've been recording a bunch of forgotten stuff from Dreamcast lately. Stuff like D2, Blue Stinger, Carrier, Illbleed. Just need to find some sort of theme.
Advertising is against the rules. If you want to advertise, do ti on Reddit. I posted a video on there and got 30k views on some garbage. Go away, please.
I like that era, too. There's something about the bad draw distance and endless views of nothing that gives you some real freaky vibes.
I only have some external recording device with component/hdmi, so I guess I'll have to emulate the old N64 stuff
This thread is 80% discussion, a lot of anons post their videos for the sake of criticism rather than shilling. You're not going to get many views in a thread like this anyway because there's very few people who open it compared the latest hot 'what went wrong' thread.
There's no place on Sup Forums or reddit for Youtube gaming content creators to discuss shit actively.
That's what I'm doing. Just built a new rig.
1070, i7-6700k, 16gb ram, 500gb ssd.
Runs and records beautifully. Render 60fps, 1080p, 10 million constant bit-rate.
I can tell you it's not on Sup Forums, so get out. The last youtube thread 404'd, and so will this one. It's clear advertisement despite little returns.
If people wanted to advertise, chan-4 would be the last place to go.
I just made this shitty gachimuchi/overwatch video youtube.com
Noones gonna watch your shit so do whatever the fuck you want you can literally just fill the video with curse words and noone will give a shit
>Highwang
Why is he there?
Not the guy who made that list but Highwang is a cool dude, he just hasn't been doing a lot of essay stuff lately. His Grimrock 2 LP is GOAT nonetheless.
Not bad. Sub count is slowly growing and content getting better. My favorite part is making friends with all the other gaming youtubers.
Don't have a gaming channel but I got 300 subscribers somehow by doing nothing. I always want to start something on my channel but I have no idea what and I can only speak with a VERY noticeable German accent.
Any ideas?
>Making friends
>Ever
Who have you met/befriended so far?
No one huge though a few of them have 1k+ subs. While I have less than 100. It's just nice to have people to help you stay creative and are supportive. Im disgusting.
You're the highest of the low
be my friend!
Pretty well user, at about 160 subs and climbing.
A lot of that is Sup Forums support, though my channel is mainly geared towards casuals.
