User get on vent

>user get on vent

i use skype. why can't you just be normal?

get off vent, or i'll have you bent

>"im getting off soon"
>log out
>log into secret character

blow it out your ass

>Skype with strangers
It's like you want everyone to know where you live.

Also
>That faggot who doesn't use push to talk
>Everyone has to listen to his every cough or little reaction

BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS

>tfw battlenet intentionally ruined secret characters

Every other MMO that I've played with global friends lists allows you to appear offline, but not fucking Battlenet. Fuck you Blizzard.

>not using voice detection.

Whataver neeeorddd

>his mic picks up him furiously masturbating

can't be worse than that guy who holds down PTT just so everyone can hear him take a bong hit

>picking up background noise
>annoying your friends

you're an inconsiderate douchebag

As long as you're using a voip that's not over a decade old, Voice detection works fine. I use it in Mumble, Discord, Teamspeak3, no issues with my mic ever picking up background noises or "hot mic'ing"

Also it helps to not have a shit mic. Clearly poor retards that don't know how to adjust a slider shouldn't use it.

>user, get on TS
>TS sucks lets use Vent
>Vent sucks lets use Mumble
>Mumble sucks lol lets use Discord

And that's why I hate people

>guy hits ptt when he coughs

>or I'll have you bent

The only correct statement in that is, Vent sucks.

>implying that's a bad thing

OH MY GOD
THIS GUY HAS A MACRO

owwww

I think there was a trick to do it

The one thing I hate about being european is that we never get proper voicecomms going on in every game, because honestly nobody wants to listen to eachothers crackling weak english and I don't blame them either

Yeah, been using teamspeak voice activation since like 2005, the only time I ever got complaints were when I had a mechanical keyboard.

Pressing buttons to talk seems foolish to me

Honestly I never saw what problems people ever had with Vent or TS.

I almost shit myself when I heard WoW guilds started using skype calls for raiding

That's only if you add the email of the person rather than the character.

>The one thing I hate about being European is that we never get proper voicecomms going on in every game, because honestly nobody wants to listen to each others crackling weak English and I don't blame them either

This is partly true. I enjoy American servers more for the better overall atmosphere. Say what you will about Americans, but in my opinion they can be some of the nicest people to play with. Very social, friendly and good speakers. Complete contrast to the shitflinging eastern-Euros who'd rather speak their monkey language than the shared common one.

Yeah, well they are one country, still. Shared language brings people closer instantly.

Its a better atmosphere since they speak naturally/normally, while you can always hear the strain on a non-native, especially when struggling with gaming terms and shit.
I know I do it for sure

i hate this fucking shit
>b-but its free
yeah and dont support the plugins we need, god dammit jamaal

okay im going to be that guy, now you got kids and jackasses constantly going off on the mic instead
look i love when people say useful stuff but most of the time its just bullshit

No, it's if you their btag. You don't need their email to do that. The whole email, real name only thing was like when bnet first did the real id update. When was the last time you even used bnet?

Nothing is perfect, but if you are getting 30% useful enjoyable chatter and 70% children screaming and shit, we are getting 5% useful stuff and 95%russians and brs and other mongoloid fucks speaking their own shitty language in game, AND often they are children too, so it'll be a multilingual screamfest!

I wish OW wasnt like the only game that is so shit that playing at triple the ping doesn't even seem to have an effect, cant play most games with 150ms+

Not him but how is it now?
I quit basically a bit after setting up the realid the first time

"omg youre a girl wtf girls dont exist on the internet lol"
"omg show me your boobs"
"omg want to be my online gf"
"hey i love you even though i only know you online wanna meet up"
"dude im underage, stop."
"its okay sweetie, i wont tell if you dont :)"

>OW
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

now thats out of the way i could use more buddies for general games if you like friendly chatter
gibe steam id

You just create a Battletag associated with your account. ex: user#1496, and then people can add that to their friends list, or right click you in game to request to be added. And once added they can see you online on any character or Blizzard game under that tag.

It's just a standard global friends list that would be perfectly fine, if I could choose to appear offline. There's still the old style character only, server only, friendslist, but nobody really cares about that anymore. It's something that I assume people only use to stalk other people that haven't added them on btag.

>playin SA:MP solo early morning
>clan leader enters server and sees me
>user come on vent
>me and him are the only ones awake and playing

>Playing Guild Wars 1
>Join a random guild
>Hangout with a handful of bros in vent
>Vent is owned by some Mexican called Scorch
>He's alright but kind of weird and sounds older
>Constantly buys in-game gold from farms and gives it to us
>Suddenly he goes mia, but the server remains up
>Our small group continues to use his vent server for a few years
>He comes back abruptly one day
>Talking about how he has to go soon but that we're his only and best friends in the world, wants to meet up in real life and hang out
>He leaves
>We decide we need to get the fuck out of vent
>Move onto Skype and then teamspeak3

I've been friends with these faggots for like 10 years. Sometimes I think about Scorch and if he still goes on his laggy vent server, and waits for us.

I'd like to but I haven't played basically since they put in competitive, its ded for me I think

>Join guild
>Decent number of members online
>"user come in vent"
>Only two people in vent
>One never says a fucking word
>I'm alone with another guy who keeps asking me about my personal life
>Leave vent
>Leave guild
>Uninstall Tera

TINA, SHUT UP AND GET OUT OF MY CHANNEL!

>2016
>not using Discord

I've got BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS

Sure, one sec.

>tfw when not autistic

>tfw i was the guy who "didn't have a mic" who actually had a mic but was too shy to talk so just sat in vent listening to you guys and typing replies in chat

Weren't we all?

Aren't we?

Fuck off. Why? Why do you do this? Can you talk to people in real life? Online you can always leave and block people if anything goes wrong somefuckinghow. I play OW with a faggot who does this and reading "Reaper flanking" after I'm dead is annoying.

>someone says his mic sucks so he doesnt want to talk
>come on man it can't be that bad we need to communicate for the raid
>...okay

He had the most nasally exaggerated mclovin like voice I've ever heard. I felt bad but had to turn push to talk on incase I burst out laughing.

>user who keys mic to laugh

actually one of the reasons why I never talked on mic is I didn't have a door on my room and you could hear a pin drop in my house. my parents would think I was weird as fuck if I was talking to people on the internet

not that user but for me it was always not being able to speak english well enough and especially if there's a native speaker on the voice comms there's no way i'm going to talk with him in his language

When my group switched from Ventrilo to Mumble it was mostly because there was a noticeable delay in Vent. It mattered when we played CS I guess. These days it's still mumble with the occasional Discord since someone's friend doesn't know how to use computers and install a simple program

>tfw when being literally on the other side of this situation

I may have been scarred for life I only talk to my friends on TS since 2008.

4 STR 4 STAM LEATHER BELT?

I actually didn't have a mic initially, yet when I got one I still didn't use it because that guild would make a huge deal of it if I did.

Joined another one eventually and started using it without a problem.

Well I heard of Vent issues but Teamspeak has been an extremely reliable thing for like two decades now.

also, must be a joy playing vidya with the computer illiterate

>join mumble
>if there are any girls they always try and flirt with me
>it's annoying and pointless
>this makes all the betas wanting their attention be passive aggressive towards me
>brag to them about getting nudes from one girl
>i didn't really get nudes
>it causes a shit storm in the guild
>i quit shortly after

settle down nerd

Discord is so comfy it's confusing. I'm surprised people haven't completely switched over.

What is vent?

>Oh hey xXfagl0rdXx got a mic, cool
>Anyways blahblahblah

I doubt it would have been THAT big of a deal, user.

>comfy

Its literally the facebook messenger with voip, is that really comfy to you?
Did you really spend that much time on facebook?

nice story m8o

When I first got a mic I was uncomfortable about using it. Now I don't feel that way at all. It's almost a necessity depending on what game it is.

i feel like i am better off this way, it's best if we do not become friends. I will only dissapoint.

ventrilo

Ridiculously enough I'm the same as
What makes it really fucking ridiculous is that I worked on a service desk for several years, taking calls from british people every day alld ay

Still too nervous to speak to random nobodies on the internet. My impending wizard powers will help, I'm sure

I still talk with the people I played wow with back in the day on teamspeak. There's 4 of us that make the "core", the people that are always on. And we have about 5 people who pop in and out from time to time. It's actually pretty comfy, not gonna lie. Non of us really play video games anymore either except for the occasional OW match.

I've known these people for 10 years at this point, I'd consider them better friends then some of the "friends" I have in real life. Sucks that some of you never really found a group like this to chill with.

> yfw people are oddly proud of their inability to talk to people due to anxiety/autism, even in online games.

.. right ..

"Haha user, you sound like a girl"
T-thanks

sure, tired from work and sober though so i won't be talking much

>that guy that was always high and/or drunk on voice chat

I used to be that guy. Fuck that guy. Nobody likes that guy. I don't like that guy.

>proud

No user, we just look for solace in the company of others like us.

thread is basically an autism circle jerk

> i don't like being in voip

> well i can't even talk in voip

> thats nothing i finally bought a microphone, spoke once, somebody commented on me having and mic and then i never spoke again!

don't get me wrong its interesting in the same way I like watching rekt gifs, morbidly fascinating.

Its just people talking of their experience with the topic user.

In fact its just called "discussion", even if not a very interesting one, especially if you cant relate.

>talking to manchildren

hahaha yeah right

But I use ts.

sure, i don't actually care

merely pointing out how funny it is to be proud of an inability to communicate with other humans, even online, due to anxiety.

good luck.

And I was merely pointing out that "proud" is not the correct term at all.

ok

goodluck

>dislike talking
>only listen
>peoples complain with "user, why are you so silent?"
>tell them that i just talk when i need to
>they think i'm cool
>a weird fella invites me only to hear my silence
>he starts to talk about his personal life and problems
>just listen carefully
>he stops talking and say thanks in the end
>never see him again

Well it probably felt good for him user.

BALLS OF STEEL

People at the end of the day need a release.

You did the guy a favor just sitting and letting him spill everything out.

Came to this thread just to see and or post this comment. Glad I wasn't let down.

fuck off, blackdebby

you can set voice detection so that you can only pick up voices, background noise or quiet coughing can be blocked out.

>Join a guild that speaks my native language
>Force myself to use a microphone
>Good times

I don't know what I expected.

BALLS BALLS BALLS OF STEEL

DUDE! my mom, she bought me this new game.

I don't talk on voice chat because I still live at home and don't want other people to hear my mom telling me dinner is ready.

Can you please leave? I came to this thread to be alone.

Jesus christ
I know that feel

Is that it?

Dude, I do teleconferences with my work at home, with my mom yelling and shit in the background and coming in to talk to me about the cute thing my cat did.

Imagine its not random strangers you'll never meet again but 3 of your bosses and your entire 20 man team.

Feels good, even let them hear me say "bring it here"
