Why people care so much about sieges anyway? Most boring part of any game.

Exactly.
Most sieges were about who could hold out longer not about storming castles and shit on a daily basis.
The concept is cool, but Sieges are horrible in almost any game that I've played - Total War, M&B. I think the only one that makes them kind of fun is Stronghold.
>most boring part
>make it less boring
Hmmm what does it meannn
That's not a siege though, that's an assault.
>Ported to consoles
>Mount combat still looks like shit
>On eternal hold b/c the devs are locked up for conspiring against Turkish government
For Honor is looking the better of the two.
Why do you think retard? They are looking much more interesting, lets just hope its not scripted
That's the whole fucking point. Sieges were absolute shit so they improved them.
Holy shit that bait is obvious
>siege car
>siege tower
>not a siege
>sit outside castle for 8 months
>wait for surrender
OR
>sit outside castle for 8 months
>get shit kicked in by reinforcements
Technically he's right.
A siege is about surrounding and starving the defenders.
I hope they expand the political side of things
I just noticed something, Butterlord has better grass then FFXV
yeah, i fucking wonder why do they care about sieges in 2 when they were so shitty in 1
Technically if you argue that way the attrition is also not part of a siege but just the intention just like the assault. A siege is just surrounding something and blocking anyone from leaving or entering the object of interest.
Siege means to sit.
You sit around and build shit (or destroy shit) to try to get things ready for an assault. That, or you just sit around and try to win by attrition.
A siege can lead to an assault (or multiple assaults), or it can lead to the enemy capitulating.
They are consequences of a siege but not part of it (technically). They are colloquially the same though.
SHOW THE TOURNAMENTS
SHOW THE FEASTS
Forgot what game it was, but there was an enemy army trying to siege my castle. So I enter the battle, and they just sit there on the edge of the map doing nothing. Siege my ass. Fucking forced me to ride out of my castle to fight them.
Let's be fucking honest here for a minute. Everything except for the combat was absolute dog shit in Mount and Blade. They need to improve every single aspect so fucking much.
The Australian desert has better grass than FFXV
i don't put 700 hours into a game just because of the combat dude
Yeah that's why they're improving them. What's your point?
I think it might be because stronghold can actually properly model sieges, as it also takes into account the economic aspects of it (starving out the defenders) which realistically is the most important part.
Everything else was just there so you don't get tired of the combat but there was no depth to any other aspect.
Because sieges were the most objectively shit part of Warband, so even if the rest of the mechanics in Bannerlord are 1:1 with Warband but the sieges are better, the game will be great
Yeah I hope bannerlord addresses the actual siege parts and not just the castle assaults because waiting the defenders out when they were likely to be reinforced long before the starvation point was dumb and it was worse when you did starve them and they still refused to surrender anyways.
Yeah, torching all of your defenders farms while hurling giant rocks into his castle is so fucking satisfying
The graphics and troop movement is dogshit
The rest is pretty good desu
fuck that
SHOW THE LADIES
SHOW THE HORSESE
SHOW THE LADIES ON THE HORSES (and vice versa)
I hope feasts can actually take time, and not just be you popping your head in for 2 minutes to say hi to everyone
Or you can build two walls of your own surrounding your enemy's walls.
this
Untrue. Although most of the mechanics are underdeveloped (trade, diplomacy, business ownership, marriages) you cannot deny the god-tier agency, character customization and procedural possibilities.
Or if you meant the graphics, you can just fuck off.

I pretend I'm taking a plate of leftovers to go as well
>quests
Shit.
>character interaction.
Dogshit.
>castle and village mangament
Horseshit.
>troop management
Bullshit
>cities and villages in terms of interaction and design
Absolutely disgusting vomit inducing shit.
>recruiting
Barebones as fuck.
>traning
Fucking dog piss.
>tournaments
Those were ok but could still be improved. The reward also needs to be bigger when you fight in the arena outside of tournaments.
>hierarchy system
It was ok but could use more depth.
construction work is hard enough without someone firing arrows at you, chummer
also, where the fuck are they getting all the equipment?
People are hoping that maybe sieges could be fun in Bannerlord, doesn't seem like though
You are the biggest fucking homo to ever walk the plains of the earth. Die you piece of shit, let a mountain of sand and cat shit fall directly onto your ugly big dense head until you are unconscious. It is clear to me and my colleagues on Sup Forums that you are, in fact, a retard in the lowest sense of the word.
Sieges are absolutely nuts and banner lord is about to turn them up to 11. Fuck you, fuck you, just shut the fuck up, fuck you, you bloody fat slimy fuck. I am on my way to your house as I type this weaving in and out of both lanes of traffic so I can reach your home in record time so I can drop my gym shorts and plow your fat ugly birth mother until she claims that I am your father and your older brother. Once I become your father, you will listen to what I have to say or I will beat the snot out of your skull with a line of metal chain wrapped in barbed wire, Jackie Chan style. Apologize, right now, for your rancid and miscarriaged opinion of sieges in the critically acclaimed mount and blade video game series or I will shove my dick into your mouth until semen leaks out of your nose you dirty whore idiot bitch
battles are seriously the worst thing in mount and blade, if you're in it for battles go play another game.
Sieges must have often been successful if they were done a lot.
>wants to siege a settlement/castle
>doesn't fully prepare for possible situations
Someone's never read The Art of War.
And building two walls around your opponent's own settlement has been done successfully. The siegers even repelled attacks on the construction of the walls.
Can some artfag make a picture of the PC standing around a feast like in the one picture of the autist at the party?
>My feet hurt
>I wish I was back at my castle
>I bet none of these fags even won a tournament
Sieges are actually the most exciting aspect of warfare in both the past and today. People tend to think of a siege as a thing where you sit on your ass and occasionally try to climb a wall, but that's all wrong.
A siege is a prolonged site of battle on multiple warfronts. Every day, multiple operations are happening during a siege. At any given time, soldiers are going to be engaging in such things like sapping a wall, bombarding via artillery, battling against enemy sallies, leading siege vehicles to attack the gate, riding upon 30ft helepolis donned with light artillery and boarding ramparts, pouring burning pitch onto foes, raining arrows upon key locations and the list just goes on.
Ideally, a game would portray the chaos of a siege. There would be multiple fronts, or points of attack, where actions and specific operations would be taking place. In Mountain Blade, it would be cool if before a siege you would assign soldiers to do specific things like man artillery or attack the gate. This would leave to participate in the combat, allowing you to move around to help the different operations.
Sieges are cool.
These guys get it
Why am I turned on by this what the fuck
I disagree with you on pretty much anything
I actually disagree about the melees having larger rewards. I think they work better as a way to train yourself in combat, and if they also give large rewards, you'll have too much money to spend way too early.
Anyway, if you're not a shitter you can clear out the arena and earn 250 gold pretty easily.
Yes, I'm sure a solution to one siege is the optimal one and everyone throughout history except that commander and you are complete idiots who fail to see the logic.
>doesn't fully prepare for possible situations
So that's why you brought your swimming trunks to Mars.
That's why they're improving it. Can't wait for multiplayer since this is exactly what the game needs for it.
yes?
In the extended footage they sallied out, at least.
What did I just read hahaha holy fuck
He never said they weren't. They were actually the main form of battle, from what I hear. Field battles were rare because they'd lead to larger loss of life for both sides, and neither wanted that.
I don't care about how boring assaults are. As long as the fucking AI realize I want in on the action too and won't shove me off the top of the ladders.
>Not being the first to charge, taking heads and leading your troops
Beautiful
en.wikipedia.org
Git gud scrub
>tries to talk history and warfare
>doesn't even know the famous siege of a famous commander
>not being prepared for possible situations in war
I see you didn't bring a tent of your own on this camping trip.
That's exactly what he wants to do you mentally challenged mongoloid
>Field battles were rare because they'd lead to larger loss of life for both sides, and neither wanted that.
This is correct. And often, sieges would end in a treaty of some sort. Sieges were insanely common in the 17th century in particular, to the point that watching sieges became something of a sport for the more adventurous folk.
>spoonfeeding the retard
Why user?
Literally just
>F1 F1
>Climb ladder
>F1 F3
Done
kek
Let it all out, user
we need to pool together money to move the turks to the land of freedom so endrogan stops fucking arresting them for being more rich than he is
Bannerlord is the first game I've been excited about since the abortion that was Diablo 3. Haven't been optimistic about anything else since.
I hope the "this is boring waahhh sieges r gay lolxD" and "how long will it take to conquer the map lol" fags stay the fuck away from it.
And nigger I couldn't give a flying shit fuck about co-op. Flesh out the banditry/extortion/crime syndicate mechanics, update the UI/graphics a bit, fix the sieges. Maybe throw in some more extensive trade mechanics and add some diplomacy.
That's all it fucking needs. That's not too much to ask after this many years of waiting.
JUST TAKE MY FUCKING MONEY ALREADY
THIS
Depends on what Siege you are talking about because Feudal Britain didn't really had sieges occuring that much and was more or less dull as fuck. To the point where one certain key fortress was only besieged about few times in it's entire existence
Ottoman sieges were terrfiying and exciting though. They'd even do it every year. Jannisaries gotta get their booty somehow.
For the rest of us who aren't involved in your shouting match but want to learn about cool battles.
10/10
I am crylaughing now
Sounds like your average Total War siege.
No one was shouting though, or even used all caps.
There's a great board to learn about cool battles that I recommend people to check out, it's called /his/. And if you want to learn more from there on out, Google is your friend.
I don't care about your blind fanboyism though.
That works until you get to the top. Then you get squashed in between sweaty man bod and thrown off the ladder due to all the Turkish oil wrestlers. The AI to remember personal space. Even in war, common courtesy is a must. #playerlivesmatter
I really love sieges ever since Stronghold and daoc. Too bad they are rare and boring in most games.
I didn't mean to trigger you, friendo
this, it's all adhd fags who want to go Call of duty with their bows anyways so I'm sure they are a minority
What? I don't get it.
he's acting a like a child, don't give him any more (you)s
Feudal britain had plenty of sieges. Feudal britain is about 900 years of history. There was plenty of excitement. Beyond that, sieges are as old as warfare itself. You can even go back and read about sieges from the ~20th century BC that are hype as fuck.
Like back in ancient Egypt, where the material they built everything out of was soft enough to break with proper tools. You literally had soldiers bursting through walls with picks and axes, hacking each other in a bloody frenzy. It's pretty entertaining.
I wish the (You)s would be removed.
Yes, if I disagree with you, it must be because I'm a blind idiot, and not because I see value in the quest system, the way the world's economy changed with your actions, and enjoyed the atmosphere of the different cities
Because they were the most boring part of Warband and also something you had to do constantly later on, so having them not be boring and shitty would be nice
should've just added laddermen as a recruitable military unit and be done with it.
I'm going to take a week off from work and disappear from my teamspeak group for months, guys. I lmao one the mods the new engine will be capable of. And that overland map is prime, just everything up til now is looking fantastic.
There's always a disaster when a small studio picks up speed and tries to gain traction/wider audience at E3. Praying TaleWorlds doesn't make that mistake.
Those people aren't your fans, TaleWorlds. They don't love you.
so is bannerlord same factions or what
rhodok or die
Of course you're a blind idiot if you think most aspects of Mount and Blade are not shallow as fuck and pretty shitty. I didn't even care about marrying some wench after learning how shitty dating works.
no
SHOW US THE BUTTER
New gorilla warfare
A unit that is useless for like 80% of battles? Nah son.
If Bannerlord doesn't have enough butter I'll be mad.
Imagine** the mods
Piece of shit phone
someone do this please.
well they could just not come out onto the battlefield unless there's walls.
or they could, and hit enemies with their ladder kek
There are precursors to the factions, I believe. So if you really want to be Rhodok scum, I suppose you can be the guys who because the Rhodoks.
I wanna be the drunken King.
Hopefully this game finally lets me.
I hope it would be possible to actually siege in Bannerlord aka starve them out and make them surrender in Warband I had 300 guys, most of them knights surrounding a castle with merely 80 shits and they didn't want to surrender at all.
Btw don't make knights only runs they are op but it's expensive as fuck I went bankrupt and had to use cheats.
