What were your favorite L4D campaigns?

Counting both games.

For me it's the first campaigns in each game. No Mercy and Dead Center were the best, even though they were fairly different from each other.

>Finale takes place on the roof of the hospital and you have to fortify your position, then run all the way to the helicopter
>Finale takes place in a mall and you have to fill up a car with gas by scavenging a huge area

So I guess it's a good thing that those are also the most popular campaigns.

I liked the airport and the amusement park better.

The Parish and Dead Center.

I hated the ones where you just stand there and defend until helicopter/boat arrives. Those were the most bring shit.

Dead Center was interesting since there are tons of spots you can jump off from to save time.

The Parish was really fun the first few times you do it on expert with a bunch of newbies. Really hard but totally unique since you have to constantly keep moving.

Same, but also Hard Rain, especially trying to scramble back through the flood.

L4D2 had better setpieces but L4D had way better overall style and sense of character. Everything seemed like it belonged together and fit each other perfectly just like vanilla TF2.

I can't really pick my favorite from all the original campaigns but I guess I enjoyed Death Toll the most. Blood Harvest and No Mercy are also great but Dead Air was probably the weakest aside from the final stage.

My favorite was Hard Rain.

This is mostly because I am obsessed with muh immulsions rain in video games.

Too bad it was rarely played, every fuckin game was always no mercy.

Also L4D2 sucked because its characters were ass. Nick was the only one I could stand playing.

Hard Rain is also a favorite of mine! But mostly because of the experiences I had with other players

>annoying squeaker gets lost in the sugarcane field during the storm and you have to go back and find him, and he's actually panicking

That field was horrifying.

Dead Air is meh unless you have the "Crashing this plane... with NO SURVIVORS" mod.

Blood Harvest is the same, but its finale is GOAT.

It wasn't that bad. You stand on one of the irrigation pipes and run along it, how is that hard.

Well, you have to find the irrigation pipe first.

It isn't actually that bad unless you're caught in the storm and a special infected grabs you.

>Death Toll

ding dong, ding dong

Griefing in the original L4D was so much fun before they patched it.
>push a dumpster over the sewer exit making it impossible for the survivors to reach the end
>push debris in front of the elevator exit
There are probably more that I don't remember

Hard Rain and the one you play in a concert arena at the end

Dark Carnival yeah

I wish left 4 dead 2's maps ported from the first game had the old special infected and zombie models as well as the horde music, the brighter art design for the southern atmosphere just doesn't translate well into the old game. Can't play the old game either because it's dead as shit.

You might even say it's been left for dead

It's not dead, you'll always find a game for No Mercy :^)

No Mercy, Hard Rain, Parish.
Hold the line style finales were the worst.

If you get the chance to pick, who do you prefer to play as?

But No Mercy and Hard Rain have hold-the-line style finales...

Everything from L4D 1

Zoey because I want to be a cute girl.

Or Louis because he's an everyman.

Nick and Zoey

z-zoey...

Yes, but No Mercy was the first campaign so that finale didn't became stale yet and it does have a lot of roofs and place to actually hold the horde and evade tanks.
Hard Rain is just a unique experience overall, so it's finale is interesting too.

Francis/Louis/Bill or NICK, always NICK.

Nick is the least annoying L4D2 character so duh.

Always waifu.

>imbeciles who don't play versus on realism.

>there exist people who don't like Ellis and Coach

THREE HANDS

Bill.

If bill is unavailable, then nick.

I'm extremely racist and won't play the black characters

Bill or Coach.

if I had to rank...

L4D1
1. Death Toll
2. Dead Air
3. No Mercy
4. Blood Harvest
5. Crash Course

L4D2
1. The Parish
2. Dark Carnival
3. Hard Rain
4. Swamp Fever
5. Dead Center

all-time favorite though would definitely have to be Death Toll
I don't really like L4D2

good one

I always play as Francis because he's such a lovable idiot.

>they make the only character relatable to you black

Louis or Coach every time and I'm not even black.

>common are stronger than the infected

what's the point?

Death Toll > Blood Harvest > No Mercy > Dead Air > Crash Course.

Swamp Fever > Dark Carnival > The Parish > Hard Rain > Dead Center.

Passing and Sacrifice are alright.

On realism survivors don't see the outline of others so they actually must watch over each other or specials will easily fuck up the lonely heroes.

Dead Air
Dark Carnival

Eliss' VA is incredibly annoying.

who cares when a common can slap you for a quarter of your health. no outlines just means random, uncoordinated infected attacks are more effective than the infected team working together

youtube.com/watch?v=yByGwSGGmHc

Honestly I was never able to get into Left 4 Dead. It seems like every time I try to play I am paired up with a bunch of drooling retards.

As are all southern hicks, so its true to reality.

Exactly. So survs must play safe and help each other trying to kill enemies most effectively.
Without Realism people just rush maps without crescendo events.

My fucking nigger.

No Mercy and Hard Rain are my favorites.

Zoey on L4D 1, Nick or Coach on L4D 2

playing slow means the infected get more attacks? do you even play the game? I've never seen a player who plays realism actually be good at the game. just stick to co-op

Well, then get some friends to play. Even with one other decent guy you can have a lot of fun. It's always goes on sale so just get a couple copies for friends.
Valve even gave L4D2 to everyone last year for free.

which is why you need at most 3 quality friends to play with user
always a blast griefing teammates near the top floor of the hospital in No Mercy

is that even a question?

no mercy, death toll, blood harvest

i dont like any of the campaigns in the second game

Have you? I've always played realism versus with two friends in team. And we always had a lot of fun. Both with survs and specials. Got almost 450 hours in the game and over 250 of it is in versus.

>realism mode
>still has special infected

nick>zoe>bill>louis>ellis>coach>/=francis

>kill enemies most effectively
>letting infected get more attacks
pick one

What makes Swamp Fever the best L4D2 campaign? The finale is more annoying that anything else, and I even like all the other "defend area until rescue arrives" finales.

Bill or Louis in 1.
Nick or Coach in 2.
Almost always ditched Roschelle player in the finale.

I found a group of people I played Versus with, I have 300 hours clocked and it was some of my favourite multiplayer gaming ever, this in first game only.

Blood Harvest was the best for Versus, but my favourite was No Mercy.

Maybe you should stop playing as the Infected

:DDD

Diescraper, Dead Before Dawn, I Hate Mountains 2

Change SF and DC then I will agree with you.
SF is the worst campaign because it forces survs to go slow on EVERY map.

Questionable Ethics, Questionable Ethics: Alpha Test, and Helms Deep Reborn were my favorite L4D2 campaigns. The modding community was one of the best in the heyday. It died roughly the same time half the mods became MLP related, how did those two fandoms even share the same space

>Death Toll on L4D 1
>Hard Rain on L4D 2

I could also never get over how Zoey has 3 hands in the No Mercy poster you've posted, OP

Bill/Coach
If not available Francis/Nick

Death Toll and Hard Rain

Dead Center
No Mercy

Suicide Blitz 2
Urban Flight
Questionable Ethics
Diescraper

Man custom maps were cool

anyone wanna play?

>when everyone is screaming out help me help me

>Helms Deep Reborn
Fuck yes. It was incredible, especially on high player count servers.
FALL BACK.

>defend the barn until the APC arrives
>near end tank spawns
>kills all but one guy before APC shows up
>tank gets in the APC with the lone survivor and it drives off
>survivors win

left 4 dead 1 was way better. it was realistic, not a cartoon like l4d2. i wish there was a way to play the l4d1 campaigns without melee weapons.

Dark Wood

>i wish there was a way to play the l4d1 campaigns without melee weapons.

yeah if only they would make a game like that....

Francis and Nick

Is there a game with just as or better modding community? The custom maps and campaigns were incredible

Survivors could push each other through the floors of elevators. I used to do that shit all the time

Do people still play this and if so, is the community still cancer?

I swear to fucking god the random votekicks were absolutely haram.

>griefing
youtube.com/watch?v=4HW7KBEWr44

Hard Rain was so good. It was clever to make backtrack the whole levels again but WITH RAIN that actually changes the whole experiences.

The finale is shit, tho. If the finale is swapped with the mansion one, it would be 10/10.

>it's a rusher kites a witch into the same room before dying episode

what are u implying

Hard Rain with realism mode is the best campaign by far. So much immersion

This game will never be not cancer with strangers

If you actually stray away from it you have no idea where you are

granted, it's a small field, but you can't see shit and if you fight anything you get disoriented

>It's a 'people are too shit to kill a witch before she claws someone to death episode'

>playing on xbox

>It's charger charge you off the bridge episode

>It's a hunter spends the entire match setting up a death pounce at the end of the level and misses episode

Charged/smoked so many people out of those appartment windows where that building's on fire. Can't remember the name of the map but that shit was fun as fuck.

> it's a jockey pulls you right after your team goes down a one way drop episode

>It's a 3 hunters land 20+ damage pounces during a coordinated attack episode

>it's a shitters playing on easy mode episode

No one forced you to join an easy mode game, what the hell are you doing nigga

>i wish there was a way to play the l4d1 campaigns without melee weapons
>without melee weapons

>what is Left 4 Dead (2008)

Holy shit all the replies, not being Francis

This truly is neo-Sup Forums

>Votekick

every fucking time. I cant even play anymore

Other than a few effects, all the infected recordings were unedited to keep them still human
youtube.com/watch?v=GHbZd18f_Dw
can anyone make these noises too

>muh burly "I hate x" faggot

Pills here
