I like the idea of a Sylux game where the Feds are attacked by metroids, leading to them ordering the extermination in Metroid 2.

Weavel and Trace are just throwaway characters. Granted Weavel is kind of the Space Pirate version of Sylux but still. Also, Trace is from a parasytic race of world conquerors. It doesn't hate Samus specifically.
