Depends on which mission, there are some where a different character will do better.

Tomomo is the most consistent sporting a health pool of 6 and the ability to actually get kills despite the high rolls of NPCs and the CPU players.
Split maps you want Poppo so you can easily warp directly to your home and otherwise just avoid everything.
Fernet can sometimes be worth using too.

Otherwise just hold shift/ctrl and hope shit doesn't turn sour.

If you have Tomomo, her.
If you have Kyoko but not Tomomo, Kyoko.
If you don't have the above, Fernet.

Otherwise, don't pick -def characetrs like Suguri because evasion means jack shit on extreme.

I've been thinking about what the best way to even hold a tournament for this game would be. It really doesn't anything except who's the most lucky, but I know some people have done it before.

I don't think it's fair to have a single game and declare a winner from that. I think there should be a "first to X amount of wins" or a grand prix point system in place like in the Mario Kart games.

Training Room is made by the guy responsible for the old fieldmod tool, that is at least before it ceased being compatible as they started to update the game's level infrastructure. He's credited in the game launcher.

Yeah, that's kinda how Poker works too. It's stupid to take a single hand from a Poker game as any evidence of skill rather as evidence of winning that particular hand. Same thing with most videogame tournaments, they tend to play a full set of games, usually first to 3, and can have double-elimination brackets.

The point of having so many rounds/hands played in a set is to determine consistency rather than determine a single instance of victory. If someone pulls a gimmick victory through sheer luck but gets destroyed in the rest of the set, they still have lost. Single-elimination is stupid unless the rounds/hands/games themselves are long enough that any actual victories from them have more than enough time for the opponent to just as handedly make a comeback if it were a case of a gimmick play rather than outplaying them with no funny business.
