Honest thoughts on Dark Souls III?
Dark Souls III
It's.. okay. That's all. Not better than DS1 or Bloodborne. You should fuck off though, there's a million DS3 threads everyday.
honestly it was too hard imo it took me forever to get past deacons of the deep even after summoning and reading my guide. I gave up around the snow place and returned it to gamestop
It's okay.
Not as good as the first Dark Souls game but it is way better than the mess known as Dark Souls 2
It's a great game, if a little unmemorable. Better than DaS2 and DeS, about equal to DaS.
Easy bosses and too few of them. Rolling + Instant Estus made everything a joke.
A lot of assets and ideas were clearly things that were left on the cutting room floor from BB's development.
Despite being on next gen consoles the game still runs at 30 FPS, and doesn't even maintain that in some instances.
Gameplay suffers from a lack of viable options and a linear experience that keeps me from going back to it like I have with the last two entries and BB.
BB>>DS=DS3>DeS>DS2
essentially
It's just as shit as DaS2.
Not fun to play.
Bloodborne, Demon's, and the first Dark Souls blow the fuck out of it
It's a great 'last souls game'.
It's not the best game in the series though. It lacks a lot of content, the game is quite short, and the game is actually one of, if not, the most linear souls game without presenting that many ideas.
That being said, the NPC's are probably best in any souls game. The combat is the best outside of BloodBorne. The game has great bosses. Great level design, extremely detailed worlds and armour. Decent animations. Really cool references to the other games.
I hope the DLC can help fix some of the linearity issues like they did for Ds2; however I'm not holding my hopes.
Too many mysteries without solid ends. It made me start thinking that half the questions don't have any real questions and are intentionally vague just to create theories. It kinda killed the lore for me as a whole, I'll wait for another one off like Bloodborne where they actually wanted to reasonably complete things.
Tied with Dark Souls 1 for worst game in the franchise
>want to make a new character or do another playthrough
>remember how forced the linearity of the game is
>remember how any attempts at breaking this linearness is punished constantly
>remember how all the enemies and level design were made with BB mechanics in mind
>remember how this isn't BB so it feels like shit to have to go through all these enemies
>Nameless King is the most difficult boss ever.
I'm a Pyro, Sorc, Mir build. Try it out, get wrecked. Level up, come back prepared. Dragon mount was never difficult, 800+ dmg each CSS. Steamroll 2nd faze by just backpedaling CBV spam. Did I unintentionally cheese him? Tears of Denial is unbalanced.
It's a dark souls game.
No replay value and pvp isnt interesting to me in this game as it was in DaS1 and even 2.
Buggy mess, linear, bland, often has bullshit happenings, made me like Dark Souls 2 even through I fucking loathe this game.
It's meh at best, feels like they just didn't give a shit about the game after the catacombs and just rushed it. Wasted potential desu... and the only DLC that will be released (don't dream people) will certainly not compensate that.
i love it. can't wait for the dlc
Normie game disguised as something special. Jackoff material for bad idiots.
Worst in the series for me. I got more playtime out of Dark Souls 2, around 70ish hours in that game. Maybe 25 in Dark Souls 3, including first playthrough and an unfinished second one. I can't lie to myself and say I like the game. I'll stick to Bloodborne.
game for shitters to feel like they are good at vidya games, just like the rest of the series
it was ok, felt weaker compared to every other game in the series, even DS2, felt like From took a bunch of Bloodborne assets and threw them into a DS game without consideration the speed of everything else. severe lack of build variety and weapon tiers are all over the fucking place. shortswords demolish everything with no problems. hyperagressive large humanoid enemies with 3-5 hit chain combos are everywhere. linear as hell too
