If Fallout New Orleans is real, what would you want in it?

If Fallout New Orleans is real, what would you want in it?

A good story

They would need to bring back everything Bethesda cut out of the series.

Actual RPG elements, a return to form. Better writing.

Alligators

Yeah definitely needs a good story. Beth has a weird problem that they can create a pretty fascinating world and background lore, but the the writing of quests and dialogue is fucking awful, Also the comedic elements of Fallout 4 felt non existent to me. I need my fucking dark humor.

Mutated alligators, turtles, and frogs

so you want to have to click the ground in front of your character in order to move? you want turn based combat?

What do you all think about the combat change? I'm actually alright with the change in combat. Don't get me wrong, back when I was younger I loved a good turn based CRPG, and I still do to to an lesser extent, but I also really enjoy the Elder Scrolls esque gameplay added in.

Not black people for one.

Comuniss & a hotdog cart

I'm impressed with the improvement to the combat system, although that was a big selling point for F4. Admittedly, I preferred turn-based for this type of game, but at least its better than F3 and FNV.

>you want turn based combat?

Only plebs wouldn't.

I wish Bethesda (and to some degree Obsidian) would cut this level-scaling shit out. It really kills the motivation to improve your characters skills and get better gear. Same goes for the difficulty options, I don't RPGs should have a choice like that.

Flooded areas, mutant chicken dogs.

Crocostalker because at this point why not

A fat Follower's of the Apocalypse member who acts like Ignatius.

More spooky shit. The fallout games have done lovecraftian shit pretty well so far I think. Nawleans would be a pretty good setting for that kind of thing I think.

No. I mildly enjoyed Lovecraft's stories, and the one quest in F3 was tastefully done, but F4 just beats you over the head with fucking Lovecraft references. Most of them don't even make any goddamn sense.

Aw, is that true? Shit, I hadn't actually gotten around to that in F4 yet, I was looking forward to it.

I want to expand to all of the deep south.

Also this.

A
FUCKING
ENCLAVE

Earlier than Fallout 1.

There are only a handful of actual, non-radiant quests in F4 and I can think of 3 right now that are entirely Lovecraft references. Although reference is generous, more like the entire plot revolves around Lovecraftian fiction. Besides those, there are some not at all subtle encounters in the wasteland, including the Dunwich horror which they had already done in F3.

hunger sleep etc., remove all the fortress building bullshit, make it more like a sim. no retarded lisping immersion breaking nigger main characters.

Fuck a fallout game. Confederacy of Dunces game when?

It would need to have Geometry and Theology.

It's actually playable and doesn't put you to sleep like oblivion or skyrim, but it's unbalanced as shit and judging it against the mechanics of good FPSes it's weak

>New Orleans
Fuck, a game hasn't taken place there since this 3d platformer called Voodoo Vince, that's a comfy location.

>babby's first comedy

I still stand behind the spooky part, though. That one DLC thing for FO3 where you get lobotomized was cool. That whole place was neat.

Forts were fun and made up at least 50% of my Fallout 4 playtime. God that game was shit.

>press X to overcome valve pains

>Voodoo Vince
That was a cool game. I always forget it existed until someone mentions it.

If you want a good Lovecraftian inspired game, try Bloodborne!

Left 4 Dead 2 campaign takes place entirely in New O'leens.

Like Fallout 2 + XCOM shit.

New Orleans has too many niggers in it

Gut out the new SPECIAL system
Let a developer who wants to make a real RPG make it.

Fallout: Sup Forums Edition

>if you hate niggers then you must be from Sup Forums
ok leftist

I always felt like certain Fallout locations in all of the newer games should be spooky, but there are two many mechanics which completely destroy that feeling. The minimap blips eliminate the threat of hidden enemies and the ability to scan a room with vats makes it so you're never taken by surprise.

A raider faction based around voodoo
Rad Gaitors
air boats
Rad Hurricanes
Jazz centric radio station

y-you too

That fucking book made me rage so much

turn hud opacity all the way down and don't use vats.

why?

Mrs Levy is the greatest character in the history of fiction.

>ability to scan a room with vats makes it so you're never taken by surprise.
then don't fucking do it fucker
I bet you also make quests active so you can see the quest marker on the radar and then complain about seeing the quest marker
I think spooky shit definitely has a place in Fallout so I was incredibly disappointed that there were absolutely no weird spooky shit in FO4. Fucking New England with wendigos and witch covens and shit but no, nothing.

They'd have to throw all of Fallout 4's gameplay, story structure and dialogue in the trash before I'd even consider playing it.

Basically they'd have to give it to an entirely different developer.

Being a Politics, Philosophy and Econ major, I've encountered many Ignatius Reillys in this world, which only makes the book even better for me.

A nice hot dog cart

While that would work, at that point I'd just be intentionally gimping myself and not using my abilities to my own benefit. Spookiness comes from the fear of death despite doing everything in your power to avoid it. If I'm not using the tools at my disposal, then I'm not going to be invested in the game, and I won't be spooked.

They need to go back to making energy weapons and their ammunition rare as fuck but really powerful.

At this point they should start removing things if they want to make an actual Fallout game.

KKK faction. I want to remove ghouls, mutants, and niggers.

This. And energy weapons should not be their own class of weapon, they should just be guns.

Is playing without the quest marker really that doable in modern Fallout? In New Vegas I suppose it could kind of work because everything's mostly centralised within a few towns which you don't need to home in on but Fallout 4 sends you across the wilderness back and forth constantly until you look in right box for the right macguffin, you can't do Radiant-type quests without the radar.

Really? I've never noticed an Ignatius, probably because I'm one.

A good engine.

you're just making excuses, you don't actually want the game to be harder. i've done three or four playthroughs with no hud, you don't even notice it's gone after a few hours.

The Enkkklave.

what's wrong with that?

An actual RPG with Fallout 4's combat and power armour system with an actual competent writing team behind it.

More guns that aren't mirrored and retarded.
More guns in general
A better game that doesn't get old after only one month

Be careful what you wish for. If it's Bethesda doing the writing, they'll have the Enclave be the bad guys again for no reason and they'll be led by a Trump lookalike because fuck subtlety.

as a lousianafag, I think I would be a sucker for exploring a radioactive post nuclear kenner, metairie and harvey. I wish the asscreed game set in NO was better, city has a lot of cool history.

I know Todd wouldn't be able to resist doing something cheeky with andrew jackson

I thought it was more of a slog since all those unarmored hicks and tribals have a higher attack, defense and HP pool than fucking power armored Enclave and super mutants combined.

Heh, I think everyone has a little bit of Ignatius in us.

I've never tried it in F4, but I used mods to remove the HUD in FNV. If I ever pick up F4 again, which probably won't happen, I suppose I'll give it a shot. I'm all for difficulty, I've done tons of runs which increased it, including making it to level 50 in FNV without killing a single thing, I just can't use self-imposed difficulty to elicit a biological response like fear.

you don't need to use mods dumbass, just go in the options menu and turn hud opacity all the way down and turn off the crosshair too if you're not a pussy, but i suspect that you are.

Did you ever play Infamous 2? If so, what did you think?

click based movement? they only did that because they didn't have any other way. it's horrible. turn based combat is a matter of preference but i strongly dislike it.

I'm pretty sure you needed mods to do that in FNV. I'm aware that it can be done in F4, I just never bothered doing it because I didn't see a reason to.

It's the meth

For me, at least, those kinds of games can become fun if you get engrossed in the story and characters. If that stuff is not in it, don't expect to have a fun time.

Doesn't that game about the electric man for ps3 take place there?

it can be done in all three of the 3D fallout games, youngfaggot.

Any reason you're being needlessly hostile? And hell, I wish I was as young as you undoubtedly are.

>midwestern brotherhood ala Tactics starts expanding south
>intend to subjugate new orleans a wretched hive of scum and villainy
>option to join andrew jackson and his mutant parrot as you help lead pirates, raiders, and the people of new orleans in defense of the city

Vehicles.

because someone gives you a simple and obvious solution to your problem and you have to dance around it by making up stupid excuses in order to continue criticizing a game you pretend not to like.

Weapon mods you scavenge and find instead of "YOU A GENIUS!!!" perk based upgrades. That was wack.

More variety of base weapons rather than 200 mods out of which 5 are optimal and having 4 base weapons. That was garbage.

Lots of factions. Redneck "gib liberty or give death" fighting against Enclave remnant group, with other potential groups

Oh shit, I guess I won't move right in the next game I play because ignoring game mechanics is the best way to make a game interesting. Stealth game? Don't use stealth! Shooter? Don't shoot. Anything else would make you a pussy who is too afraid to play a game by a single person's arbitrary rule set. I've never pretended not to like F4, I think its okay and I can say with absolute confidence that I probably won't play it again.

nope, never played it. last thing I can remember playing set in the area was L4D2 which was pretty sterotypical but not too blown out of reality, ya know, aside from all the zombies

More than five guns.

I'd like a return to the portrayal of (former) Enclave members in New Vegas. Not mustache twirling psychopaths, but human beings that are capable of being very decent people.

now you're exaggerating, i guess that means i've won. good show.

The more south you go the more creole you hear. Mutant alligators. Fanboats! I've ridden one and it's a hoot, if any y'all get a chance go for it. It's loud though, so take the earplugs they offer of don't be a pussy.

There seemed to be plenty of sensible enclave people in FO3 too, they just weren't the ones shooting at you. They were the folks in the bunker trying to make america great again :^)

A mechanic is a mechanic regardless of its scope. You can't pick and choose which are important and which are arbitrary, and then go on to say that your subjective experiences are objective and must be followed in order to play the game properly.

the ones that are important should be obvious if you aren't a complete idiot. or if you aren't pretending to be.

>hey guise what do you want from the next wacky quacky fallout game??? lol how about that old timey robot from fallout 4 lmao soooo funny
>Le babby first meme XDDD

please get some taste before you reply

How about you get a taste of my dick, fuckboy.

Important? VATS isn't important then? A HUD isn't important? These are merely extraneous features? One which happens to be one of the only unique features of modern Fallout games and another which is in almost every modern game. But you said they were unimportant, so they must be.

>reads entry-level novels
>telling anyone else to get some taste
Oh the irony

If you're so fucking culturally enlightened what are you doing shitposting on an anime image board about a mediocre cash grab rpg

True. Hell, Augustus can be a pretty reasonable guy, I guess what NV did that I liked so much was they they were able to make the Enclave feel human and even created likable (as in you would like them if encountered in real life) folks.

not important compared to shooting and turning, obviously. and no the hud isn't important at all when you have a world map in your pip boy and a heartbeat sound effect to let you know when your health is low.

Obsidian or Troika doing an isometric, turn-based Fallout has been my dream since Van Buren was cancelled. Too bad Bethesda bankrolled the IP away from both studios.

Hopefully it gets made by Obsidion.

Whoa! Bethesda Game kick your ass out for tryina get all them po color people throwed in jail, huh?

Yes
