Summon Night: Swordscraft Story

Now that the dust has settled, Was it good?

One of the best GBA games and a really fun little game over all. Had some replayablity due to length and the different things you can summon too. I really fucking like it.

3 translation never

Came here to post this

>Journey the Summon World Night

3 never ever.

Probably the most fun i had with a game when i was younger.

Tried it once, didn't care for the combat system.

That's funny, I started playing it because of the combat system.

I had just finished Tales of Phantasia and I wanted more and I saw that Swordcraft Story had very similar gameplay, although more basic for the most part.

Whats the name of the girl to the right?

Patty.

I played and beaten them both when I was young and oh boy were they fun.

It was good but the only thing that i didn't like was the the main dungeon always looked the same.
Great combat system, great crafting system, good humour.

It's good but overrated thanks to yurifags.

Is it just good 'for a gba game' or is it good even when compared to seiken densetsu, ys, etc.?

I just noticed Summon Night 5 was actually translated and I'm glad they kept the tradition of girl partners loving girl MC.

If anyone has played it here before do bargains really rotate and is there anything valuable missable from it?

Pratty is a dumb name

I dislike them being MCsexual.

>kept the tradition of girl partners loving girl MC.
But Arca doesn't love her back; spinel gets shot down hard in her ending. Not sure if it's like that in the original because vic ireland translated it.

>anything valuable missable from it?
How about all the voice acting. Plus there's some really annoying bugs added in the western release (not sure if they're fixed by now).

I've never played any of the mainline (TRPG) summon night games aside from this and I've heard that summon night 3 is really good, but SN5 is quite bad. Putting aside the mediocre story and poor localization, the gameplay is really simple and repetitive. Often you'll just be standing around killing reinforcements and waiting for a mission to end.

Is it still good? Of course it's good, a good game doesn't magically become bad if you compare it to a classic. Is it better? Hell no, but it fills a few certain niches that you can't really get out of many other series like it, like an in-depth and satisfying crafting system that ISN'T fucktarded, Legend of Mana

Is there any reason to get a starter that doesn't have dialogue? Rasho was my man but it seems like the game would've been a lot worse had I not gotten him (or the girl I guess).

Personally I felt that 1 is better than 2. 1's city had a lot more charm to it than 2. But other than that I don't really know why.
