No

What is the touchpad like? If I emulate Nintendo DS or android games can it remplace a touchscreen?
What about the motion sensors? What are they capable of? can they remplace the light gun or the steering wheel in an arcade game?

that's not even the best playstation controller

Incorrect

doubt if it would be able to do a DS screen as well as an actual alternative.

it's the shittiest playstation controller. the build quality is even flimsier than the piece of shit dualshock 3.

xbone controller is 80 quadrillion billion times better.

I like it a bit more than the Xbox One controller because it fills my hands more and has less clicky buttons, but the thing I hate about it is the awful battery when you use it wirelessly. Can you replace it for a longer-lasting one?

Needs a better use of the touchpad for more games. Does Senran Kagura EV use the touchpad in any way? I think that's the most intuitive use if my question is true. For games that just use it to bring up a menu such as Ni-O, Asscreed, etc, it's pretty fuckin pointless. Why not just build the menu to where it appears when you press OPTIONS.

That's another thing too. Why rename START to OPTIONS?

>implying there's a controller better than the DS3

I like the DS4 but the fucking battery life is fucking shit. I was able to play games for like 8 hours a day for like 3-4 days without recharging my DS3. And even when it was blinking saying the battery was about to die, you still had a solid 2-3 hours of play before it died on you. And the best part? Charge it for like 5-10 minutes and it already had 3 out of 4 bars. The DS4 takes fucking forever to charge and then by the time you turn around it's already half way dead after about an hour or two of play.

DS3 >>> DS4 and it's not even close.

If youre competent enough to take it apart there are compatible batteries with double the capacity

I don't think we can have a best.

You either trade off 2D controls or 3D controls no matter the controller.

If Wii U Pro had analogue though I think its design would win out overall for 3D controls. Saturn Model 2 still stands up as best for 2D and some similar variants over the years. SNES is a decent contender, but Saturn got more buttons in without issue and a better dpad overall. So the search continues for a modern controller at least.

I've heard good things on this one, but the thumb sticks seem eh to me. And I've heard the dpad is great but falls under the whole problem of joystick is prioritized and I can't help but think of the Turbo Touch 360 controller when I look at that dpad's face plate. Granted the fact its not a dpad in a pit like the Turbo Touch means it can't have all the thumb nail pain, but still.

No, this is.

I'm still partial to the GameCube controller

>I've heard good things on this one, but the thumb sticks seem eh to me.
They're personally my favorite thumbsticks, I've never liked the lack of treading that dualshock thumbsticks have.
>dpad
It comes with a classic dpad if you don't exactly like the new one, I use the classic one and it works well.

Dpad is a step back form ps3, but its not too bad

Triggers are my main complaint, cant set the thing down causally without them being pressed

at least the touchpad is a subtle gimmick

Old people probably don't realize it's a button.

Early DS2s that were soft were still better. But the days of those are long, long gone.

Long time Sony fan here and this is the best fucking controller out there. It feels so comfortable and just right in my hands. It sinks right in to my hands idea of what a controller should feel like and I love it.

Buttons feel solid analogs are good, no shitty unnecessary touch pad or lights and it's just hot. Shame I don't want to buy an Xbox One for it and the link chord to it with ps4 still requires it to be wired.

lol

>no shitty unnecessary touch pad
works fine from Bloodborne

i hate how loose the xbox one sticks are

Its not the grips its the positioning. I think the Wii U Pro gets this right. Never been a fan of the off set thing, it doesn't work well in some situations and games.

How are the internals on the dpad? Is it just one button? Is it snappy or mooshy?

The face plate is weird but it may work looking at it, but is the alternative more 360ish or more Sega Genesis or something else?

Sorry for all the questions, I find controller design really interesting and have a shit load of them over the years. The quest for the perfect design is neat to me and I don't think anyone as nailed it yet in the 3D market.

This was so close to perfection but the weird button layout ruined it

But when you just hold it, it fits your hands perfectly

>Left analog stick tilting up and down

Mine has this issue

Should I send it back?

>Should I send it back?
duh

So your posting a video of some dumbfuck Sony shill that broke his elite controller to make us believe that the Elite controller sucks?

It's a shame, it otherwise feels pretty nice to use

Its horseshoe style shape did fit well in the hand even if it was small even for my lady fingers girly hands.

But I really never get the love for this controller. Stiff dpad in a pit, second stick is a stump, gated sticks, missing shoulder button, full analogue triggers but horribly springy, and really just a little too small. I didn't mind the button layout so much but it did limit how many could be there so no good 6 button fight layout. I guess at least it was design with hands in mind, which is more than many oddly enough.

>Sony shill
fuck off microsoft shill

>That's another thing too. Why rename START to OPTIONS?
This confused me when I first used a DS4

Because it brings up the options menu

what in oblivion is that d-pad

Censored dpad

>tfw nothing has topped the ps2 controller for you yet

It's good, but not the best.

XBone controller would be better if it wasn't for how shit the shoulder buttons are.

It's alright. D-pad is too spongy and I want my rear shoulder buttons back.

It's depressing having to use a downgraded input device for "improved" games.

But the pads are in the wrong spot

nah, dpad is garbage

dualshock2 still the best

The DS4 sticks degrade like fucking leaves on fire

Every iteration of the xbox controller has the same issue, from XB to XB1, the left stick will eventually start going up and down or move itself, also the bumpers and the triggers are easily breakable

Cant say much for ds3 because It was really comfortable and feels really light compared to ds4, although it never failed me at all.

Also Wii controllers are resilient af

>I wish I could play bo2 on my ps3 again but I sold it to my stepdad and It's a 2 hour drive to his garage

>and I want my rear shoulder buttons back.
What did she mean by this?

THIS is the best controller of all time.

Both wrong.

My wii u gamepad actually has drifting

Really affects how good it is at collecting dust

...

DS2 is better.

Xbox one is m8. Although for what its worth, the dualshock 4 is easily the best playstation controll ever. But microsoft will forever have the best controllers

Feels like a cheap knockoff product. You would think A company like Valve could create a quality product

Switching the analog stick and the dpad is fucking retarded.

t. person who hasn't used it for very long

The analog stick, triggers and haptics are all god tier. My only complaint is the glossy area.

Sega Saturn controller my man no question

>implying the xbone controller isnt the best gamepad
Top kik

Most of the tools who wear that logo don't even have a clue what that group was about.

???
Batman is about fighting crime, what else is there to understand?

But like, see, okay, they give you this super cool touch pad, then give you the ability to do nothing with it. Like, make that shit your aim in shooters, fuck console shooters with sticks, how the fuck do you aim? At least the touch pad for aim would make sense, you know?
