Hardmode: don't mention pic related
Saint's Row 4
Ultimate Spiderman
Telltale batman seems promising
coh
rip
>Arkham City
>one of the best superhero games
You know what
I'm not even gonna say it isn't one of the best
And that's real fuckin sad for superhero games because City is like 7/10
Asylum is 9/10 though
The Wonderful 101
The Infamous games are pretty good. I liked Second Son. It aint perfect but its fun for a bit
Nah city was much better
Spiderman 2
Arkham Knight
I've been missing CoX a lot lately. I would love to hear about more games that aren't related to DC or Marvel, since I've played most of those. Any upcoming superhero games too, googling it only shows Marvel or DC shit.
>CoX
It hurts
Boss fights aside (and all of City's except Freeze are pretty much just average), Asylum does basically everything better. It's MGS3 vs. MGSV.
One is faux-open-world with a linear series of open-ended areas that works great because it's tight and focused and the other is sandbox nonsense with systems that don't work in a sandbox because it's a directionless mess.
Infamous 1 and 2
Don't play second son unless you are really into the gameplay of the games.
I really liked that part in Asylum where you're in a library fighting off some goons, since that one basically sets you up to scare the absolute shit out of the enemies by hanging their companions on gargoyles. Does City have anything like that? I've only played a little bit and I haven't found anything like that yet.
...
what's the name of the game with top down view from 2003-4? can't remember, you could do anything
>No one mentions Arkham knight
>No one mentions deadpool
The indoor sections play just like Asylum and they're great, they have all the same mechanics but they're improved a good deal.
The issue is just that the open world spreads all the good parts thin in exchange for being open world.
The fear mechanic is still in but good luck every utilizing it under any circumstances in the open world, because goons will never find each other knocked out.
Considering that AA's bosses were really fucking bad and half of the fun of batman is his enemies id say that alone makes city the better game
Bam ham numba one maam
Crysis
Vieutiful Joe
City of Heroes
>Half as long
Injustice Unlimited
Is Sucker Punch working on any games? Wish they would do Spider-Man PS4
...
i think so
Asylum's bosses aren't THAT bad. Lazy, yes, but it's because Arkham combat isn't suited for bossfights at all. It's designed entirely around beating up mobs.
I'd say the Joker fight is the only one that's dead-on awful just because you don't even fight Joker himself like you do the regular titans.
Like I said, the Freeze fight was the only really good one that played well with the mechanics, and it used stealth instead of combat.
The others required the creation of quick-fire for all the gadgets that you never use ever again just because gadgets were the only way to make a real boss fight in the Arkham combat system.
So many throwaway nonsense gadgets that get tossed aside after their bossfight and maybe one puzzle.
Honestly, playing the games on hard, I enjoyed the shitty "fight one/two titans while thugs flood in" more than, say, Grundy or Clayface, just because Asylum's fights were at least challenging.
Both games only have like four boss fights total anyway so boss fights are a pretty minor part of the game. And christ Deadshot's quest finale was so horribly anticlimactic. All of the sidequests were.
>I dont call you brother because I like the sound of it
This one!
ultimate spiderman was fucking 100000/10, infinite god tier
>tfw no arkham catwoman gf
War of the Gems
>tfw no Oracle gf
Barbara please Dick will never love you like I do I'll push your wheelchair around and everything
...
Instead make a thread titled:
>Name a great superhero game besides spiderman and batman
...
Viewtiful Joe
Shattered dimensions
...
>I gotta try
>O: BACK
I'd tap that :^)
Prototype.
Not really a superhero game since you're technically playing as the villain. Then again you could classify him as an anti-hero. Either way, eventually you turn into the Guyver and take on a corrupt occupying government force. Running up buildings, jumping for miles and gliding over the city felt great.
This game, and the sequel, was great.
XMen Origins: Wolverine was actually a good brawler until the end where it remembers it's supposed to be a tie in and gets super retarded
>Either of those good
Knight is the pallid nadir of the series, even worse than origins
Deadpool had heart but boring gameplay
The ant was my favorite, he looks fucking cool.
Nah. Arkham knight was masterfully done in terms of graphics gameplay and atmosphere. It improved those things greatly from the previous games.
...
1/10
Not even trolling tbqh. Sure the batmobile was forced and the arkham knight was retarded and could be seen from a mile away. but that game doesn't deserve less than a 8/10.
Sorry user, the game just lacked any kind of spark or gravitas. I struggled to care about what was going on, and the moment to moment gameplay was boring and lacked focus.
Fair enough. Personally i enjoyed it a lot despite playing on PC. I just restated the game yesterday.
