Games that should exist

>Games that aren't a thing, yet would make cash hand over fist

List your top game ideas, and others will rate them and comment on why they think they aren't a thing.

>Game is basically one of those open-world 18th century sailing games, but set in space
>Have to stock your ship/s with food, ammunition, and hire people at stations
>Can land your ship on planets/space stations and walk around space ports and interact with alien species, ala Mass Effect/KOTOR, but all combat takes place in space
>Space combat is real time with incredible attention to detail, with damage to vessels being modular with real time deformation
>You can board any of your ships within your fleet and interact with the captains and crew (in depth for captains, crew basically just salute you)
>Game play is very similar to Mount and Blade in that you can either maintain yourself as an independent military force, or join a faction
>Can create your own faction if you want and take over entire space stations and planets
>Once you reach this tier of the game, it becomes more akin to a strategy game where you have to hear the complaints of your constituents and make decisions which affect your government and galactic standing, and manage resources

Also

>RPG set in cookie-cutter fantasy world with dragons and elves and shit
>You manage a kingdom, but can embark on your own adventures in third person RPG shit to gather resources and new equipment for the kingdom
>When managing the kingdom, it's autistically in depth to the point that you even have to decide how diverse your kingdom is going to be regarding humans/elves/dwarves etc, and whether you embrace magic or not
>Expand your cities with a Total War system of town/city upgrades which can all be walked around freely
>Can lead your armies to war against other kingdoms, or just delegate from the throne
>Diplomacy means having to actually visit other kingdoms and meet their kings, with real time conversations deciding how the talks go

Harry Potter RPG

Make a year one character, play through all 7 years. Bully meets HP setting. Have someone other the Rowling wright the plot.

Full mini-games for Tri-wizard tournament and Quidditch.

Well written companions "friend" characters and several potential love interests.

I would pay all the money for this.

A free roam game like GTA set on a space station colony.

>Superman action game that plays just like Bayonetta

People think too fucking hard about making Superman games. Maybe don't try to make it open world and have it be like Batman's Arkham series. Just go full throttle Bayonetta on that fucking bitch.

I mean, everyone liked the Spiderman game on PS1. Did anyone complain about no open world back then? Nope. It should work for Superman as well. Problem is that I think everyone wants to put in what works for others. Spiderman and Batman have a lot of games now that take place in an open world. I think Superman operates better though if we have a game where he can REALLY let loose. No worrying about saving civilians or anything, just cut loose and beat up the bad guys.

>Wright

i like it

Panty and Stocking game made by Platinum

I would cry. And never stop.

Yeah they need to stop trying to make him this invincible god and just make him this badass flying dude that combos people and uses cool powers like laser vision and frost breath.

In the original animations of Superman, he's shown to struggle. That's what people want to see, a struggle, conflict. No fucking kryptonite, just make him struggle a bit to pick up something fucking huge like a building, or let him take hits from big motherfuckers.

That would be great, would be cool whether it took place during HPs story or on its own. Join with HP or Voldemort might be kinda cool, but then again just trying to get through school without some outside bullshit messing with you could be really interesting as well.

I bet noone on Sup Forums will get this meme.

Mabinogi, but remade with a better engine. An MMO that lets you be multiple classes freely in one character are quite rare.

I thought most American high schools taught basic ancient Greek philosophy.

>Star Fox 64/Kid Icarus Uprising sections with the individual lions
>LD gives the lions their own attributes so could have levels that can only be done by one Lion (ex: an asteroid field that only the red lion is agile enough to navigate)
>mecha combat sections with Voltron
>possibly some on-foot sections with their bayard weapons, FPS or TPS

>implying american high schools teach the Allegory of the Cave
They are too busy not teaching integrals unitl college.

>Superman
>Practically impossible to kill unless faced against world-ending monsters that are specialised in fighting him, and even then he barely dies and just comes back to life
>Can easily lift the weight of an entire planet
>Becomes so powerful that he can end the entire universe by breathing, and be in every place in every moment of time
>Immortal

The whole point of Superman is that he has to stay on the path of righteousness and good when there's no reason for him to do so. He has always been this way, no matter what these 20 year old Marvel cucks will tell you.

Superman is the god of justice, and the greatest super hero of all time. He is the literal embodiment of what a super hero is; there is none greater, hence why a game with him in it simply wouldn't work.

You may as well play an action game with god mode and unlimited continues. There simply wouldn't be any challenge, and if the game starts giving choices like "Does Superman kill...", then he is no longer Superman and the game is shit.

>you are alone on alien planet for some reason
>the whole map is properly designed, not procedurally generated
>map is at least twice as big as the one in Just Cause 2
>you have to find out all you can about the island
>you uncover the story purely through gameplay

Think something like Miasmata meets Myst.

Ship sinking survival simulator

Starts you in the bowels of a ship you are unfamiliar with and have to survive and get topside and sometimes get downside (ayyy Poseidon Adventure) and the level design might have elements that randomly change from level to level so you may never fully learn all designs and still keeps you on edge

Ship would flood at different speeds depending on difficulty, other environmental hazards too.

Always start in a random part of the ship, but obviously not too close to the top.

a successor to Final Fantasy 1
as in an over head rpg where you choose your team
a game that really fine tunes classes and making more ways to approach the game would be ideal

Platon, Politeia. Not everyone is American.

Check out Freelancer
Not exactly what you are looking for, but quite close

pokemon meets mass effect

Basically subnaitica

>>Practically impossible to kill unless faced against world-ending monsters that are specialised in fighting him, and even then he barely dies and just comes back to life
just have him face those
or maybe an Asura's Wrath kinda game

This is a fact. I went to a locally prestigious college prep high school and we didn't learn shut about the Allegory of the Cave.

Wouldn't have learned about it if I didn't take a couple specialized philosophy classes because the subject interested me

Oh fuck yes. I've always really liked the thought of running out of a ship(space or sea) before it explodes. I think Halo:CE's first mission was what got me thinking about it. There were a tons of modes like that with the Titanic , space ships and airplanes on Roblox. I spent hundreds of hours playing on those modes.

Sounds a little like this minus random enviroment
the game sort of sucked

there has still never been a decent open world zombie game. something like an open world Last of Us. co op would be fuckin sweet too. saddens me.

Isn't there a mobile java game like this?

Yeah there's aparently a Harry Potter Rpg game for phones but it's nothing like that user said.

basically this

>Setting would be Skyrim-like
>11 different kingdoms
>You start off as a wanderer
>Slowly work your way up to be the king's trusted adviser
>Can persuade the king to wage war against another kingdom
>Can infiltrate other kingdoms and work your way up to be a adviser
>Some kingdoms are stronger than others
>You can influence their leaders to battle the strong kingdoms (and lose) making you the new king of the defeated faction
>Can lead your king to victory ultimately defeating a kingdom
>The king awards you reign over defeated faction
>Actions have consequences and you will be hunted by assassins from hated factions
>You can be awoken by these assassins in the middle of the night while you sleep

Kinda drawing a blank but I know I should be listing more stuff

>Have someone other the Rowling wright the plot.

Why do you not want Rowling to write the plot?

I hope you do realize that is literally Mount & Blade.

>I spent hundreds of hours playing Roblox
that's not something you should ever tell anyone, hahahaha holy shit

Mmo where players gather in safe hubs, form a party and then party cant be disbanded until the quest is done. Quest are given by hq, your party gathers supplies, weapons and intel on a mission you go, then you are on your own against ai and other parties from enemi factions.
This can be a sci-fi game or post apocalyptic one and the quests will shape game world and players. You can leave you squad or party only when in safe hq or upon death (wich is permanent).
There should be a list of easy quests, like capturing and holding position, intel gathering or small spec-ops action and some wide scale events, game changing even.

This game would take a talented developee and polite community, since parties are not hor long, but a week maybe and you will have to cooperate or die\lose and evac in a hurry with no affect on a world.
I guess its better to use familiar setting to create a game like this: fallout, stargate, walking dead.
Maybe the fact that you'll have to play with same ~3 random people for a week straight is what makes this concept impossible.

I almost died of laughter, and english is not even my native english.

Setting:
>Above ground, natural disasters have claimed earth due to the amplifications caused by the accumulated effects of global warming happening much sooner
>Humans have long since adopted ant colony structures and moved underground after the discovery of infinite energy obtained by a specific measure of heat and pressure that only Earth's core can produce
>Technology developements have advanced quickly further establishing the human race as a dominant power underground, or have they?
>As quickly as tech grew, so did the longing to return to the surface

Culture and tech is basically a garbled up compilation of the 80's, 90's and early 2k from our universe.

Series Model:
>Multiple games will cover the many aspects of this universe through various genres
>Grimy comic book style aesthetic so it looks like you just walked into City of Dust by Steve Niles

will post details later, keep sleeping on keyboard.

GTA V mixed with San Andreas with Google Maps integration and completely destructible/explorable environments and VR support. Also licensed vehicles and better memory optimization so more than 6 different models spawn at once. Also it's MMO but still has a complete 40 hour single-player campaign with full access to the same assets as multiplayer. Add a Fallout style RPG system for single and multiplayer so you have more unique characters. Let you choose a voice like in Saints Row so your character isn't a mute retard. Add a full-featured map/village editor to let people build their own mini-sandboxes within the city with money they acquire. Literally expand your empire in the physical sense. More diverse and more fun activities like sports, amusements, games, jobs, crimes/heists. Add elements from games like Euro Truck or Farming simulator to make the game more in-depth and less about just shooting people. More access to diverse ways of killing people like booby traps or swords so killing people is more fun. Better gore and dismemberment.

Basically, add all the best parts of all the most popular games of the last 5 years to a giant open world GTA-esque game all running on maps generated by Google Maps based on real-world settings.

I could probably think of more idealism if you gave me some time. But I would literally never play another game.

because I want my friends to be something else than a bunch of SJWs.

HP and the Philosopher's Stone for GB was an RPG in a sense, though the gameplay pushed for a story progression than free exploration and side quests.

Hellsing Hack n' Slash by platinum games.
Crazy music
A nice roster of playable characters
Lots of weapons
Lots of combos
Fanservice
Mission Mode with lots of crazy extra content

My american high school did it in 9th grade

my fucking sides

>open-world
No. Stopped reading there- you're a fucking idiot.

>Allegory of the Cave
I'm a gook and I'm sure the majority of people here doesn't know what this is.

I forever stand by my opinion that baneposting memes are easily the most unfunny memes to come out of this trash heap in the last 8 years.

Of course I know, you dumbass, it's someone from China.

Then go to /vg/ for a minute and delete your comment after throwing up.

Outlaw Star: The Game
>this plays every time you start it up: youtube.com/watch?v=xrjUj-FRorY
>story mode comprises what would have been season 2

>on-foot gameplay is a fast-paced, almost Vanquish-like third person shooter where movement is emphasised over tanking behind cover
>space gameplay varies between cruising around to explore and shifting to dog-fight and grapple modes when you run into baddies
>online mode has you make your own character starting as an Outlaw and picking sides between Space Forces and Pirates, where ranking up on either side unlocks different upgrades for you/your ship and giving you coordinates on the map

I wish I had time to go over how much I've thought about this game and how it would function, but I have to go.

...no?
seriously. no.

I'm tired so I'll summarize it short

>be final boss on small dungeon
>defeat hero
>get power and experience from it
>use that power or experience to level up or expand dungeon
>repeat process
>eventually monolithic dungeon or castle for yourself
>can put in trals, mid bosses, treasure rooms etc etc
>whole time though a count down clock is going
>when clock ends "true hero" comes
>basically super fucking hard guy who is probably way stronger than you are
>small chance to beat him if you leveled up dungeon/yourself right
>lose "good ending"
>win "bad ending"
>"bad end" leads you to harder difficulties and alternate paths and new customization and powers for you and your minions etc
>idea is essentially hold your own dracula's castle from castlevania and win.
>hardest mode is hero resurrects as "blessed hero"
And that's my idea. Make it if you want or whatever I'm sleeping noe

Openworld seamonster hunting ARPG.

You're part-merfolk and upon being discovered during an attack by a giant squid on your small fishing village (a tutorial) you're taken off and conscripted into the navy

You work a ship to hunt another tutorial monster to learn the ropes of sailing, and when the captain dies mid-fight you take over and heroically save the day

You're granted the ship's captaincy via vouching from the crew and the imposition of a government sanctioned agent as your first mate to observe you, and from there are free to explore the Archipelago the game takes place in to hunt any contracts you please - with the end goal being to earn promotion and freedom

You can fight on both boat and by hand, using cannons and mortars or spears and flintlocks as you please - with a bit of low-grade magic and alchemy mixed in.

Possible scenarios
>Have to hunt a Kraken across an ice shelf, dodging it as it bursts through the ice, cutting it's tentacles, and using every tool you have to herd it towards your ship so the cannons can finish it off
>Sail up a river through a tropical jungle, dodging darts and repelling raids from the tribal natives who worship the giant river Eel you're hunting as a god. You finally find it at the great mountain, at the nexus of every river on the island, where it raises it's head....and then another from the river beside you....and the one on your other side....and then you realize it's not an eel, it's a Hydra, as it's body erupts from beneath the rock and it charges you
>Giant whale that forms a whirlpool every time it sucks in the water in search of prey, that requires you either dive into the beast's maw to slay it while dodging debris, or you rain artillery down on it as it tries to swallow your ship whole
>Hunting for an eldritch-like water beast in a lake in near pitch black waters
>A mutated race of seafolk raid a major port town, resembling humanoid frogs that spit and secrete poison - and you have to lead the reclaimal of it

It'd have a big emphasis on diversity of locations, ship and gear customization, and open-ocean exploring.

Naval combat between ships would also be in it, and you could hunt pirates in between missions to build up some extra supplies and gold.

There'd also be a number of mid-size settlements you could visit and find work or play minigames in, though there'd be few actual quests inside of them sonce seamonster hunting and elsuch is the main drive of the game. Maybe they'd have rare loot or goods and secrets to find, like treasure maps, though. Mot really thought much about that part.

>it's a mmorpg
>only two classes melee dps and ranged dps
>melee dps can cc and tank
>ranged dps can aoe and attack from long range
>questing system like runescape
>skill system like runescape except for combat skills
>2 races human and orc
>pvp enabled everywhere including on cities
>you only earn experience to level by killing the enemy race
>your skill levels can't be higher than your base level
>conquer the enemy race cities
>after x days the war is over
>during the first x days of "peace" the winner race gets a buff that increase resourcer gathering and gives a xp bonus
>the loser race must decide when to start the invasion and wich city it'll attack first

Xcom Evil Geniuses Edition.
>Cool 50' game artstyle
>Main base is a standard Evil Genius base, you create your base and do cool shit like the normal game would be
>Can have multiples bases/hideouts all over the world to gather money/safe heavens for your minions
>You can place any henchments you got on those bases for any buff (more money/lower suspicious etc).
>Can create upgrades for each type of minions for both base or missions (es: better suit/pistol for base minions, playboys get a charm boost/dodge boost,Snipers get abilities like )
>Stealth mission are xcom style with a twist.
>Missions with steal objective can be used without killing anyone or get spotted, gaining lower amount
>Chaos/Destruction missions are standard xcom missions.
Multiplayer cooperativd and competitive.

Bastion + Dark Souls + Terraria
Make comfy homes/bases and upgrade weapons, fight shit, isometric camera.

And then a sequel where your save carries over a la Mass Effect.

You are now an adult wizard fighting in the wizard world war. Based on your choices, you either fight for the good guys or the bad. Certain characters are dead now, and allies will vary based on who you sided with previous game.

So on so forth.
