The beta demo goes live on Tuesday the 23rd and runs until September 5th, so all conquerors report in!
>The demo will consist of a new tutorial dojo, Usuki village from the original demo and a new stage, Nakatsu, a mountainside area which eventually spans into a series of labyrinthine caves >The boss of Nakatsu will be a Hinoenma, the Japanese folklore equivalent of a Succubus (We've seen her before in the original TGS reveal and E3 trailers) >Completing Nakatsu will provide you another chance to claim The Mark of the Conqueror if you missed it the first time, with a new DLC, "The Mark of the Strong" being rewarded for beating Nakatsu >New players will have to complete both stages, but players who earned the Mark from the alpha demo are able to skip right to Nakatsu, as well as getting some bonus equipment for the duration of the demo >Despite Team Ninja originally saying otherwise, Daifuzu Shrine will NOT be included again for the beta demo. Nor will the catacombs under Daifuzu where Tachibana Muneshige is fought that was shown at E3 >The changes made from alpha demo (Reworked HUD, Zelda/Souls-style lockon, lack of durability etc.) will be implemented in the beta demo, as well as new content like the dual wakizashi weapon-type and the Earth spirit guardian Fuseushi >Completing both stages will unlock a bonus "twilight mission" version of each stage, which contains tougher enemies and better loot >Another feedback survey will be posted on KT's website on the 23rd
So, who's looking forward to taking control of William-Sama once again?
>Nioh thread right when I was about to leave Damn you sure know how to time them. Gomenasai, I'll stick around a little. Oh and you get the Mark of the Conqueror just for completing Usuki, and the Mark of the Strong for Nakatsu. Who "Conqueror that's reconquering the first level" here?
Xavier Barnes
Ooops, my mistake. Listed Nakatsu twice.
Jordan Lopez
>Giving a shit about another Gook wanking themselves off simulator
Well I guess that settles it. Is there any info on what this is going to be about? I'm only just hearing about it now.
Lincoln Johnson
Oh fantastic, I don't even know about this. Thank you! Any idea about details?
Isaiah Diaz
This is my spiritfu. There are many like it but this one is mine. My spiritfu is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my spiritfu is useless. Without my spiritfu I am useless. I must use my spiritfu true. I must cut straigther than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must cut him before he cuts me. I will. Before glorious NIPPON I swear this creed: my spiritfu and myself are defenders of my country, we are thee masters of my enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, u ntil there is no enemy, but peace. SAYONARA.
Asher Phillips
/r/nioh says it'll also have some of the Bloodborne producers as special guests.
Michael Sullivan
That's interesting. I know that Kou Shibusawa was absolutely smitten with Bloodborne; he referred to it as a "masterpiece" and cited it as his personal game of the decade, so he'll be excited.
Isaac Cook
Do i need ps+ to play it
Joshua Myers
How do you pronounce that?
Liam Robinson
neo
Ayden Stewart
Only if you're in Germany or Austria. For some reason, the demo's locked to PS+ only there.
Co-op and revenants work fine for the demo even if you don't have a PS+ subscription.
Ni-Oh (As in the Knights who say "Ni!" and "O" as in "off").
Landon Gomez
This demo is pretty much the only game I've been looking forward to. Hope they didn't casualize it too much, the difficulty was half the appeal.
Dylan Reed
Stream's starting, so here's a bump!
Joshua Rogers
There's going to be a survey with the Beta, so there's a chance of us reverting any changes that were made for the worse.
Sure wish I understood what was going on on this stream but I'm sure it'll be cool when the game starts.
Blake Jones
I didn't realize how young Yasuda and Hayashi are; I was expecting geriatric old fucks like Cookie Monster, not a pair of guys in their 30s.
Gavin Ortiz
Hai.
William Hernandez
Gomenasai.
Watching these and not picking up on what's going on is almost as unbearable as all those old KojiStation streams where you'd wait for the first look at new TPP footage.
Aaron Walker
Talking about playing with friends, I wonder if he confirmed inviting people for online play, and whether it'll be in the Beta. That would be fun.
Julian Richardson
Sounds like William's fully got his proper English voice actor. Also circlestrafing still looks ugly.
Landon Martinez
Yeah, all his grunts sound to have been fully re-recorded now.
Also first look at the Armita smith!
Matthew Wilson
...
Luis Powell
I'm happy with the amount of damage that giant did to him. Looks like it hasn't been too nerfed.
Mason Sullivan
>blacksmith waifu Nioh is literally unstoppable now The damage seems ok, though it depends on what armour he has. The circlestrafing looks as bad as expected though.
Luis Thomas
Yeah, enemies still hit like a truck. That E3 demo having an overlevelled character in addition to having amazing gear AND a difficulty nerf so journalists wouldn't hit a wall and whine about the game in the press doesn't sound farfetched at all, particularly now.
Anthony Cooper
For anyone coming in, Masaaki Yamagiwa from Sony Japan Studio (Bloodborne's producer) is gonna fight the boss of the first level.
Jayden Reed
Based. I love how Japs actually have legit live players as oppose to the scripted pretend playing on pc they have in the west.
Isaac Butler
It seems the first boss can still easily wreck your shit.
Noah White
That seems alright, but I'm not worried about the damage they do to me so much as I'm worried about the damage I'll be doing to them. They can be as strong as they want to but it won't matter if they die instantly. Still, Onryoki's looking as angry as ever.
Jordan Ortiz
Yeah, he gave a lot of people in the alpha demo quite a bit of trouble. He hits like a truck, but he had a pretty limited moveset and could be staggered reasonably easily if you went for his horns (Though this'd only work once).
Henry Rivera
I think it's more the hammers. They're good for removing stamina/super armor but it'd be better if he swapped to a sword for dealing actual damage.
Brandon Lewis
>dat hand cam
Sebastian Peterson
I've noticed he's getting a buff whenever he Ki Pulses, if this is the Beta version that we're getting, then I think that confirms we're getting new skills to play with! Also he's really showing his heritage with his strats. Hammers are fine, he's just playing a bit too safe and missing a lot of chances to attack.
Ryder Torres
REKT
Cooper Walker
I really like Yasuda's Fender t-shirt.
Benjamin Edwards
The generic grunts have quite a few new battle sounds, too.
Sebastian Smith
SUBARASHII!
Christopher Bell
He got so greedy towards the end of the fight and died because of that. Did he not learn anything from producing Bloodborne?
Adam Bennett
Damn that fight was intense. Can't believe he choked there after all those sick dodges.
Adrian Mitchell
That was Yasuda, the game's director playing. Bloodborne's producer is the guy with the glasses.
Brandon Sanchez
Rather the round-ish glasses and the white V-neck shirt.
Dylan Price
Yasuda is a man to be trusted in many things except to not choke at the end.
Really fun to watch fight though, even with the circling. I was just as sasuga as they were.
Liam Fisher
Oh, I didn't even look at the picture posted. Well the games director should very well know not to get greedy.
Liam Morris
He just wanted to make it look exciting!
So how long until some brave soul translates the info from this, if there's anything new to be learned?
Cooper Green
He was partially just showboating and keeping it entertaining for the others. That character was underlevelled, too.
Hunter Fisher
Also it's worth noting that the new pieces of music for the game they've had partially playing in the background of this is excellent.
Carson Gomez
Well that was fun and quite interesting, even though I understood none of it. Hopefully it gets translated soon so we know what to expect.
Yeah the music has been consistently amazing for this game, I was really liking the new music too.
Noah Rodriguez
The important question is: will the "Conqueror and Conquered" pasta be updated to match the new mark?
Kevin Clark
Here's the stuff I picked up on
>William's battle grunts/damage sounds etc. have all been re-recorded by his English voice actor (Notice in the dojo he mumbles "Come on!" after he dodges away from an enemy) >enemy grunts have been given some new sounds, too >movement on the map is now a freely controlled cursor (Using the touchpad?) >The hub area that Yasuda mentioned at E3 may be some kind of teahouse, judging from the symbols on the map menu >enemy damage dealt hasn't been toned down >armita display is now yellow (Which has been changed even since E3, when it was still white) >Blacksmith operates via gold, as we suspected since the alpha demo
Lucas Diaz
I noticed that the camera didn't go to the dramatic view when he did the grapple attack on an enemy without Ki, so I think that means that this camera is actually the other selectable option revamped, since in the Alpha it behaved like that, but that likely won't affect movement, the important part. It's hard to tell what the damage is like now, but it seems close enough to me, and there were what looked like revenant grave markers on the mission info window. Plus new skills, it looked like that hammer one was an attack buff on Ki Pulse, judging by the pic.
Also blacksmith girl is C U T E
Evan Morris
>Dat pic
The dudebro just wanted to play some cod. Why fedora have to be all bully
Jonathan Gonzalez
Oh I just caught another thing. Looks like "Implement a flow to allow players to exit a mission." means that we have an infinite Himorogi Branch now. Never really seemed like a problem to me before.
Caleb Brooks
I'm glad you picked up on the revenant mound thing on the menu as well actually, because I wondering what it might be for. Difficulty display, maybe?
James Collins
I thought about that, but it looks like they still have the Recommended Level thing there, the 12 in that I think. Maybe it's a measure of how many people have died on that level and how many revenants are currently on there. Could double as a way of knowing which levels are more popular for coop too.
Wyatt Gomez
Yeah, the 12 was the recommended level slot. Good call though, that would be a fairly good measure of saying how "populated" certain stages are, so to speak.
Also I double-checked about the armita display being yellow, and I was partially wrong; it's not always yellow, but it seems like it changes colour when you're sitting on enough for a level up. That's a nice touch.
Daniel Baker
That's really nice. It seems like they're working so hard on making the UI helpful in so many little ways.
