Every time I do hear someone with a microphone they've either got a heavy accent, they're mumbling like crazy or they have 20 dicks in their mouth. Regardless of which of the 3 it is I can never understand what they're saying.

If it's competitive, there's certain compositions that work best and if the guy is more experienced/higher ranked than you, you should probably at least consider.
Even if it's quick play, when somebody suggests to use D.vas to counter six Torbjorns, you should probably do as said instead of trickling in one by one and dying to turrets.

Gold medals mean nothing if enemy Genji flanked and killed your entire team and you were away blowing up damage on Reinhardt's shield instead of covering the exact flank he ran through unchecked. This is not TDM.

You really only need to say shit like "reaper behind us" or "bastion's in the corner" to get good use out of a mic.

Class counters aren't everything. While they play a big role in the game, some people are better off using the character they know well. Say you get a situation where D.va is a better counter character than Tracer, but the guy playing Tracer has 30 hours on her while he only has 1 hour on D.va, you're probably better with him just sticking as Tracer. As long as you're in quick play, you're going to have to deal with situations like that. If you can't then you need to adapt.
