Zero Time Dilemma answers

Uchi answered questions about Kyle and "?" on a twitter.

>First of all, it seems necessary to clear up the misunderstanding about Kyle and "?".
>So-called "? END/Another Time End" was added as anomalistic irregular bonus.
>That was a kind of "afterword" written in a conversational format. In that scenario there was no meaning to supplement main story.
>That was a story in higher realities/dimensions and metafiction. That is not connected to main story time-sequentially.
>Therefore that is not canon. Main story of VLR ends in the hiding place of Crash Keys on April 13 in 2029.
>When young Sigma saw the explosion through the window. That's the ending as canon of VLR.
>When we were recording the voices of VLR, a big earthquake (2011 Tohoku earthquake) occurred in Japan.
>Nearly 20,000 people died due to that disaster. We saw the horrible devastation and thought this.
>"I wonder if the ending of VLR should keep it this way. Isn't it necessary to add a story which gives dream and hope to people?"
>As a result "Another Time End" was added.
>Thus there is no voice in that scenario in the Japan version. Because I wrote it after the voice recording.
>I think I made two mistakes in VLR. [1: I added the voices in "Another Time End" in the international version.]
[2: In the flowchart, I put "Another Time End" on the place after/below Phi End.]
>For these reasons, many players misunderstood as if "Another Time End" is canon. I really regret that.
>When creating ZTD, I wasn't based on "Another Time End". Because not every players of VLR saw "Another Time End".

>There are a lot of players who didn't get all Gold Files. I wanted to make ZTD so that even they can enjoy the story.
>Then, was "Another Time End" all nonsense? Was it meaningless? Of course that's not true. I'll explain.
>(However what I write from now is not necessarily the correct answer. Id like you to interpret this as one of the tentative theory
>Because Zero Escape series has already been out of my hands, and now it's owned by the players.
>If there is a theory that makes more feasible or convincing than mine, you can adopt it as your canon.)
>It goes without saying that what is the identity of "?". It's as many players are presuming.
>At least, I wrote "Another Time End" in VLR with the intention of it. Also there is no doubt that "?" intervened in ZTD.
>In order to imply that, the ability of Mind Hack by Delta was set to resemble the things that "?" can do.
>You can choose one you like from the following 3 theories. The character did it or Delta did it or "?" did it. The choice is yours
>In passing, I'd tell you about Kyle. I said that "Another Time End" was metafiction.
>Therefore I'd like you to interpret Old Akane's words in "Another Time End" as metafiction.
>This means that she was talking toward the player in this REAL WORLD.
>She said "He (Kyle) has arrived at December 25th, 2028." And now is 2016. This year isn't 2028. This is my plan.
>I'm often asked like "Where is Kyle?" The short answer is this. "He will be in 2028." I hope this is useful for you. Thank you!

My head hurts after reading this.
So this is how despair feels like.

Who the fuck is "?"?

I just play the games for the riddles honestly.

Then you should be dissapointed with ZTD even more than everyone else

>he will be in 2028
What did he mean by this?

Enh. The Alien Language riddle was memorably difficult.

I warned niggas about Kyle. I fucking told you bro.

The player.

That he is a complete hack but he won't admit it and will just play some ruse game instead

If you're retarded, maybe. Nothing even close to the minesweeper room, or even baby's first sudoku. Instead you get complete garbage like "make all of the shapes line up on this object" or 8 of the same puzzle in the same room.

>there will never be another game like 999 again
Hold me, anons

>ah, yeah, this part, well unfortunately it is not canon
>as for the asnwers, you can make your own theory!

It's your own story for fuck sake you nip bastard how about take some responsability for it

>sudokus are hard

Alright, whatever you say buds. Sudoku is just putting numbers in a box, and you know the rules of the game. In the alien puzzle, you had to figure out the rules, and then solve the puzzle to boot.

Should have just gone with the Kyle/Player support was necessary to create ZTD theory. At least that was something.

>he is still dodging every question about second Carlos

He fucked up big this time and he don't have any excuses for this one.

The easiest puzzles in the series are from 999. Don't even start this shit user.

What does questions about player mean? I thought we weren't part of it at all?

Least he admitted he fucked up. Still, a disappointing note to end your series on

Non-canon meta-narrative

This is why I'm done buying games at launch all together.

Sometimes they trick you into buying it at launch by making the previous games in the series good, but that's just smoke and mirrors to get you to believe the next game will be good.

And sometimes they promise to give you a cool watch but never do.

Fucking this.
I could buy Odin Sphere remake that released close to this shit and it would be a lot more wise decision.

I trusted this hack and he picked up betray.
I will never ever buy a game on the release day. Worst mistake in my gaming history.

You guys need to chill. The game was enjoyable.

I'm so annoyed by how ZTD turned out. On one hand I liked Carlos and Diana, on the other hand almost everything else.

My only major issue was that Patrick or whatever his name was didn't get enough scenes with a shotgun

I took me far too long to remember what Eric's name was. Q team was a shitty mess.

You can always relief your pain by playing Infinity series, if you haven`t already.

Second Carlos?

Is Never7 any good? I skipped that one because I heard it wasn't great, but found Ever17 and Remember11 fantastic.

>no puzzles

When talking about Infinity and ZE, we always consider sci-fi and thriller as their most importants topics. In N7 you`re more likely to read about romance and dating most of the time, but the twist is considered to be what we like Infinity series for. Long story short, this is one of the first Infinity games, and it starts throwing sci-fi and twists only at the end, in the final route. Nevertheless, I recommend t to you. It isn`t that long in comparison with the other games.

Carlos send himself to the past with transporter.
By using universe logic with Phi and Delta in every timeline after doing this, second Carlos should be now in every timeline as well.

Why would I want to plqy a game with bad pacing and/or shity ending?

Ah, I see, Having the transporter essentially make a copy was kinda dumb. I'm guessing we don't know what happens to the baby Phi and Delta that stay in the present?

What happens when you don't wat for long periods of time?

They died from starving together with parents and doge.
Great family desu

>people refuse to finish my story
>ill reward them by retconning the ending to the game so theyre not confused

wtf

>better retcon Akane's powers because fuck nerds that take their time to read the Q&A

>Not all people 100% VLR so I won't let them to be confuse in the ZTD
>But anyway we are targeting the new audience with the third game in the series

Isn't he with the fire team that's there in more than one end? Doesn't Carlos die in every other route tidying it up anyway?

Why didn't Carlos rescue the worst father on the world tho?

>Zero Escape got thrid game to finish the story
>Everyone expect good game
>Game is shit

>Danganronpa got anime to finish the story
>Everyone expect shit
>Anime is good

I don't know who is trolling who anymore

>Anime is good
Liar.

Yeah it's good and miles better than piece of shit that ZTD was.

It's terrible. ZTD sucking balls doesn't make the animu better.

Life is simply unfair, don't you think?

You do know that different people find different things challenging right?
