lol no
No since their polls are dogshit and will ignore your vote and ban you if you vote against their decision.
I tought smogonfags were dead since 2013.
yeah, no. I'm going to cum in you.
>Ban literally everything
>good
I heard you get DQ'ed if you use sleep powder twice
Only VGCbabbies and casuals hate it, because they don't understand that every team would look like pic related without bans.
>44 pokemon have a usage rate of over 1% in the VGC (wwwsmogoncom
>83 pokemon have a usage rate of over 1% in Smogon OU (wwwsmogoncom
>not banning legendaries
Even Nintendo events ban them. The only "legit" pokemon is Kangeskhan
Clefairy is clearly OP
>banning articuno and regigigas
Smeargle and Talonflame aren't legendaries.
>built by gamers for gamers
This never works, gamers don't know what they want (at least in the past decade)
but Gamefreak surely does, right?
Most non cover or non event legendaries aren't that great.
Works for every single small community-run game.
what's good about talonflame and smearagle
i dunno, but the ubers fags are the most retarded group of people i've ever seen
>ubers counsel suspect tests shadow tag
>most of the no votes are thrown out for "faulty reasoning"
>mind you these people passed the voting requirements
>threw out just enough votes to pass the ban
>shitstorm ensues, goku nigger chaos gets off his ass for the first time in like 3 years then they never tried that again
yes they dropped the ban but what became apparent is that they have no problem being scumbags not to mention enormous autists.
i mean jesus christ read this shit, used to be the ubers room rules pastebin.com
and don't even get me started on shrang
Talonflame gets a 120 base power move that moves first more often than not. Smeargle can learn any move, so people usually give it Dark Void to put both of the opponent's Pokemon to sleep at the same time.
Talonflame has a 120 power move that almost always goes first, other moves that almost always go first have only 40 power.
Smeargle learns literally every move.
Talonflame has an ability that makes every fucking move a priority move
Smeargle can be taught basically any move in the game making it immensely versatile
Talonflame fires off priority tailwinds (great for doubles) and brave bird. Smeragle can can learn every move so it can spam dark void and other such moves.
Boy, I sure feel....
...moody...
...today.
Mence alone is better than almost any single legendary
>that random Clefairy
what
>bidoof has three AMAZING abilities, one so strong it's fucking banned
>basestats so shit it will forever be a shitmon
It's the bulkiest Friend Guard user that also gets Follow Me. It's just for making sure your other Pokemon can tank hits.
How does his evo fair in AG?
>singles are nothing but constant switching and rock/paper/scissors matchup
>ban shadow tag
Faggots
Outclassed by Smeargle in every aspect.
He would be even shit in OU, but Smogon hates anything that causes Evasiveness to increase
>what are sneaky pebbles
Is Golem viable or a shitmon?
Hazards do a better job without making the game cancerous.
>inb4 charizardfag crying about pebbles
>not predicting switches
>not forcing switches and setting up
Git fucking gud
>pu
Shitmon of the highest order, but extremly strong in his tier. (PU)
Shit
At least my bro is okay as a stallbreaker
First, not all legendaries are good.
Second, that picture is from a Nintedo tournament, you retard.
In the 2016 ruleset, you're allowed 2 of the 'powerful' legendaries. As you can see, this results in every team using Groudon and Xerneas. Stupid shit like this is why Smogon is a better system.
And what's wrong with switching? Did you watch two battle videos on Youtube and decide you hate it because it isn't how you play ingame?
>B- rank in OU
>better than Lucario or Victini
It could be worse.
I think his point is that Shadow Tag forces you to take a different approach to team building and battling in general and Smogon just elects to ban it because not muh healthy meta
Well what about Jumpluff?
>Smogon threads on Sup Forums
Worse than Golem.
Jumpluff is to Golem what Golem is to Talonflame.
Eh. They got their problems. But so does VGC. Whether you like it or not pokemon are not all competitively viable and I respect that they try to make balance tiers (Even though they suck at it)
That's why at the end of the day it's more fun to battle in a group of friends.
So what you competitive autists have seen from the new pokemon, are there any that already look super good or super shitty?
>Play Battle Spot Singles
>It's good
>Play Battle Spot Doubles
>It's garbage
Not to be an ass but you COULD look this up yourself.
everything I love is garbage.
Kingdra? Is he at least decent?
I don't care THAT much
He is great in Rain teams and is in BL2, just over the cutoff line for Shitmons (RU).
We haven't seen any stats yet, but Wishiwashi may prove to be alright if it gets recovery. It probably won't because all of these kinds of gimmickmons don't. Salandit could also prove decent against stall teams.
Kingdra is pretty good.
Doubles is extremely binary bullshit where there are dedicated inflexible roles while at least with singles you can employ some kind of strategy that's to your taste rather than the meta.
If Bruxish ends up having good stats it's going to cuck Prankster users out of existence.
Abilities are promising on a bunch, but a couple bad stats could ruin it
Smogon is shit because it murders the fun aspect of pokemon by trying to act like competitive pokemon should even be a thing.
Pokemon is as casual as it fucking gets and anyone who takes it seriously enough to try and balance it is a fucking manchild faggot and needs to grow up and start playing big boy games that are actually built to be competitive.
It's like those full grown adults who play the pokemon TCG competitively, you ever find yourself at one of those tournaments and the stench of failure is so overpowering that you instantly forsake all hope in humanity.
Who hyped for VGC Day 2?
I hope we get more small announcements throughout the whole weekend.
Don't be mean to my kitty. Liepard struggles enough to stay relevant.
I hate smogon but it's better than VGC.
If I see another primal Groudon and Nega kangaskan I'm going to puke.
>Worst tier is infested with retarded power tripping cock-monglers
Not surprising.
smogon.com
I like the joke articles
That is "Brawl Club" levels of sperglord.
>By substituting its leaves for blades and rustling them in the best way that it can, Sunkern can perform a Swords Dance, which allows it to reach an astonishing 26 Attack after just one boost. Seed Bomb and Return together form a fearsome combination that will have many Little Cup Pokemon retreating back to the Day Care. Hidden Power Fire is there to eliminate annoying Steel-types like Magnemite who dare defy Sunkern's might. Alternatively, Hidden Power Ice can be used to remove Gligar, the bane of Little Cup's battalion of physical sweepers. Life Orb is the preferred item to add an extra kick to Sunkern's attacks in exchange for its health, but that's okay, Sunkern isn't one to stick around, it dies on the battlefield like a true fighter.
goddamn sunkern.
>Delibird's signature move, Present, can be used for some novelty value, but let's face it, using Delibird is in itself already a gift to your opponent.
>Fool people into thinking Delibird is a pre-evolution of Articuno and sneak it into Little Cup to see if it will do well there (it won't).
Alright, I laughed.
I feel that they made some questionable bans after gen 5 and some of the people who decide things are sperglords
I have to say that they certainly make more diverse metas than VGC ever did, though
Kingdra is king of crits
Smogon itself is pretty good and I can generally get behind most of their decisions. Stuff like sleep clause and evasion clause simply make sense.
But smogonfags are a bunch of slimeballs. Especially the types who never experiment and only make cookie-cutter teams, and try to wave their dick around to people that don't care about competitive. Almost as bad as Smash Bros tourneyfags.
Smogon is literally just a circle-jerk.
>community gets to decide on balance changes
No. They don't. Every decision is based purely on the personal beliefs or experiences of one of the "owners" of the "system."
>everything I love is garbage.
That's why Smogon exists, so that even your favorite shitmons have a chance to shine within a tier. Flygon would be outclassed in a standard environment due to lack of setup, being outclassed by nearly every other dragon, but is Top Dog in RU, arguably the best Pokemon within that tier.
Unless your favorite happens to be Unown or Spinda.
shadow tag basically cuts out any pokemon that the pokemon with shadow tag counters
it makes them unusable the whole game, because a single bad switch in will fuck that pokemon over no matter what. It's even worse on a good pokemon. see, mega gengar with subperish
>i have no clue what I'm talking about
>I just make up biased claims because the meanies told me that Rapidash is shit, even though they themselves created a tier specifically where Rapidash is good!

luvdisc will always be my favorite meme-mon
>As a classic saying goes, only true love can thaw a frozen heart. Hydration on Luvdisc ensures that it will thaw every time, the epitome of true love
holy fuck my sides
This.
Half of Sup Forums doesn't know jack shit about smogon tiers other than "muh smogon bird". Just because a mon is in a low tier doesn't mean you can't be useful or even usable in a higher tier. It just means that its outclassed by other mons in that tier. Claydol, as trash as it is, can still get rid of hazards and set up trick room. Brozong is RU at best, but still performs well in Ubers. A lvl 1 nosepass is a legit mon in Ubers with berry juice, stealth rocks, and endeavor. Hell earlier this week I got swept by a scarfed malamar while testing out a team I built in OU. Do I agree with every ban? No. Do I think things like Greninja, Aegislash, Genosect, or soul dew Lati@s should be allowed in RU? Pull your fucking head out of your ass with that suggestion. But above all, if you don't want to play with smogon guidelines then don't. Grab your friends and play with whatever rules you want
>Competitive RNG based RPG game
I don't get it
>Tells you not to make Magikarp jokes because "it's not funny"
>Lists "Voldemort is He Who Must Not Be Named for a reason." as a rule
>built by gamers for gamers
good
>keeps trying to keeps the meta balanced
good and bad. good that it's a decent community effort and bad that it's just that, 100% community driven, and that leads to fatheads.
>has various formats so each character is viable
pretty good, but a very unique situation to pokemon itself I think.
>no coorperate sponsors
i dunno how this is a plus? staying honest is great i guess but having any kind of company support is always the better option.
>community gets to decide on balance changes
i don't understand this one. do you mean balance changes in banning things too strong for certain metagames? that's not really deciding the balance as game freak is the only ones who can decide pokemon balance in the end.
>252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 172 HP / 0 SpD Azumarill in Rain: 187-220 (48.6 - 57.2%) -- 92.6% chance to 2HKO
