Anyone who's ever had TASCAM and a pair of 598s willing to tell which are overall a better value?

I've heard TASCAMs with replacement pads is astonishingly good for its price, and reviews on the 598 seem to be pretty favorable too. Is there much of a sound quality difference between the two?

I paid nearly 200€ for that shit and it's one of the worst headphones I've ever heard. It sounds hollow, veiled and tinny and has literally no bass. I'm not even a basshead in fact I dislike overpowering bass but these shit headphones literally have no bass whatsoever. Everything sounds dry and tinny as fuck.

I hope.. headphone and mic together is tricky because they tend to compromise on 1 or the other (the later one is) so u get shit mic and average cans.
Just get an amp/dac combo, good cans or ie and get a mic from a reputable brand like Shure, Audiotechnica, etc. or one of those you clip into you headset...

Mine are chewed to shit and I am in desperate need of a replacement pair.

Mine are starting to show their age as well. Had them for about 10 months. I suspect sweat made them detiriorate faster since I live in a hot climate. Even with AC on my ears get sweaty with the leathery earpads.
I emailed AKG to see if I could get them replaced under warranty of buy another genuine pair from them since they're by far the comfiest earpads I've used. They told me to fuck off and contact the store I bought it from for replacements (Amazon Mexico)
I was considering Brainwavz velour memory foam replacements since they seem to fit fine according to reviews online.
