>msaa x8

Nope.
Can't wait to be the 23.

>tfw Gtx 760
Yesterday I saw people showing off how a 770 could run ultra at 45 fps though. If the CPU really does make all the difference, I'll just have to buy it myself and refund it if it doesn't run well. I'm not stupid enough to pre order a Gabe even if it's gotten good reviews so far.

>970 is fine for 1080p

I've an r9 390, how would that rate in there?

No I didn't. George has a shit CPU and those are benchmarks from a retarded no name random russian website ran with MSAA x8.

Way ahead of you OP, never preordered!

what kind of shit cpu?

Apparently msaa is set to 4 with ultra settings but still this is probably it. And even if it's not because of aa I'm sure there is some other massive performance draining setting.

>jumps on the 970 despite nothing being able to keep a stable 60 fps in the game

>FX6300 and R9 290
>been running most games at 50-60FPS at 1080p
>hyped for DXMK
>this happens
nah, I'm good senpai, wont even buy.

>jumps on the 970
I'm not alone gamerant.com/nvidia-settles-lawsuit-gtx-970-false-advertising/

Running a 4790k and GTX 1080 and planning on playing it at 1440p.

I am fine. Just looked at the graphics comparison for MD and there is not too many changes from Ultra to High. I will probably just turn down shit that won't make much of a difference if its that bad.

ssao at very high usually have retarded resolution set move it to high and suddenly +20 fps without anything lost in quality

Yes, the lawsuit is about lying about the vram amount and this can affect games at times but if every card has issues with a game it's retarded and petty to single out a single card.

why would i preorder a game from a series that has never been good, and has only gotten worse

>consoles are holding game back
then this happens and people start to cry

GameGPU is not a legit source, it has never been a legit source

>AMD CPU

Yeah I wouldn't either, AMD processors are console tier.

Dunno, the 6300 served me pretty well especially since you can overclock the shit out of them, but its showing its age now. at least itll run other titles at 60 till zen releases

Nah, it runs smoothly on the PS4 so I'm happy.

Who would have thought that it would be easier to optimise software for a specific platform?

Full disclosure: I'm a software engy with an MSc in Computer Engy and a BE in Electronic Engy. Threads where gamers discuss benchmarks and technology in general are where I come for my daily dose of rage. You people are fucking morons and PC gaming is a great way to deprive yourself of time and money.

It depends on how the PC version compares to the console version. If the console version is running on max settings (which I doubt but we haven't had any comparisons yet) and the PC version is getting such poor framerates on specs many times higher than either console then that doesn't mean consoles aren't holding things back still, it just means devs don't feel like optimizing and we're still getting less than we could.

People do need to stop using benchmarks on ultra as the way the game runs in general though as you have one framerate tanking setting in there and it's just completely misleading and leads to people complaining about it being a bad port.

I would think a software engineer would have better taste than to play on consoles.

>I would think a software engineer would waste time and money playing on a shitty unreliable platform rather than sticking a disk in a box that always runs the game smoothly without complications.

Yeah no, I prefer to use my time effectively and use specialised hardware that the software I use has been optimised for.

PC:
>Spend €1k on a rig
>Games aren't optimised to run on it
>You need to upgrade every couple of years
>Developers assume you losers continue to upgrade every year, so minimum specs continue to inflate

Console:
>Spend €350
>Games are optimised to run on it smoothly
>Developers are forced to keep this hardware in mind when designing their software

Seriously, PC gamers are cucks, but their unwarranted feelings of superiority are irritating.

I have a 4690k that I overclocked to 4.6ghz...is this thing gonna be a bottleneck now?

only you can answer that

>smoothly
If you call sub 30 fps smooth then you might need to get your eyes checked

>Games are optimised to run on it smoothly

>in truth they run anywhere from 15-30 fps, with a "solid" 30fps being extremely rare

kek

>I don't have a console but I'll give my opinion anyway

Yes, very good Deus Ex, very good.

HOWEVER

>jumps on the 970 despite nothing being able to keep a stable 60 fps in the game
That's 970 in SLI
970 alone is 34 average.
It's fucking amazing how 1080 SLI can't reach over 80fps average while a 1080 alone can do stable +60. I know card power doesn't stack, but there's obviously a problem there.

You'd have a point if this game looked AMAZING.
Like, better than Battlefront.
As it stands, it looks mediocre.

1980*1080

Just drop it top 1270 amd put everything else on high and your fucking laptop can run it. I swear to go, system specs have never been less relevant.

>it's a "Dark Souls 2 is the best performing game in the past 5 years and nothing has ever beaten it" episode

isn't it funny?

>Just drop it top 1270 amd
what?

>listening to this stupid autistic retard
>probably my shit cpu tho
kek, wait for a real breakdown.

I don't need to own a PS4 to know it's an underpowered piece of shit:

>games don't get bad releases on PC, that's exclusive to consoles
the difference is that they ABSOLUTELY HAVE to fix console version, meanwhile most PC fixes are half assed like Arkham Knight, also
>Digital Foundry
why am I not surprised

youtube.com/watch?v=02uxM3vyClY

That is with Low, medium, high, ultra presets.

You can also tweak individual settings and get better performance/perceived image quality ratio.

>the difference is that they ABSOLUTELY HAVE to fix console version
AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

>tfw i5 4670k/R9 280x
Welp I wasn't even interested in the game so nothing ventured nothing gained etc etc

Not really, even then something high caliber like TW3 took literally _6_ months to fix the framerate on PS4. Probably because it was nearly impossible to get it to run decently without severely butchering the graphics.

>Digital Foundry
>why am I not surprised

and? are you implying they're faking that performance?

eh?
you can play the game on medium settings and it'll look fine
it's really not an issue

>the difference is that they ABSOLUTELY HAVE to fix console version
They don't actually, they can if they want to, but just like on PC they can always just tell the console owners to go fuck themselves.

>Games are optimised to run on it smoothly

I'd say about a little less than the 290x.

It still looks and runs worse than the vast majority of AAA games out there.
Not even him, but when I can run DOOM at 1440p at 55-60 FPS on ultra settings (with directional occlusion on medium), then there's no reason why this game should run like such trash when it looks so much worse.

>not stupid enough to pre order a Gabe

youtube.com/watch?v=QVnGix0BVWU

because DF's comment section is full of childlike mustards like you, the jehova witnesess of the internet

A fucking 2D game can't get more than 21 fps on consoles
Is this the real life?

Doom only has a handful of enemies in a small area at any given time, whereas deus ex has a largish open world going on
And Doom is based on an engine that John Carmack worked on, so of course it's going to run quite well.

Apples and oranges

>had to drop the resolution from 1080p to 900p
>still can't hold 30fps all the time

This is probably an odd outlier there for laughs, but you could still take pretty much any decent GPU made in the last 5 years and outperform the PS4/Xbox. And by that I mean I'm sure I throw two 560Tis or 6870s in anything with a quad core and beat consoles.

They're severely underpowered, especially with the 470 and 1060 being so cheap.

>"LOL MUH FPS PC MUSTARD RACE HAHAH"

desu, once it doesn't drop below 24fps I'm happy. You know films are only 30fps right?

Listen, if you want to waste a shit ton of money upgrading your PC every year, spending more than you would pay for a new console, be my guest. However video games are developed to run on the PS4 and the Xbone, then ported to the PC. The developers will maximise the performance on the PS4 and Xbone and compile binary files for each of these platforms specifically. Then they will compile one unoptimised blob for the PC cucks and say "those faggots will upgrade their shit anyway" and assume you'll sink another €200 on a new graphics card, which you will.

Now, you losers don't understand what I mean by "optimise for specific software" (hint: it doesn't mean "x runs on y better than anything else ever), so there's very little I can say to help you idiots understand why engineers view gamers (and games developers to a lesser extent) with contempt.

Sony made a huge mistake when jewed out on the CPU and to a lesser extent the HDD. Literal laptop AMD CPU and a fucking 5400rpm HDD.

GPU bottleneck is easy to fix, just drop the settings here and there, but CPU? Not so much.

1280x720 and*

>HOW DARE YOU PLAY GAMES AT A LOWER RESOLUTION, HOW DARE YOU?
>WHY YOU DON'T ENJOY THINGS THE WAY I WANT YOU TO ENJOY?

Someone needs to find the setting that tanks performance so we can stop with these shitty threads.

Movies are 24 fps and I believe that's an outdated practice that needs to go away. Are you the software engineer guy? Because I am starting to not believe you because of your posts or maybe they don't require software engineers to be intelligent.

We already know, it's the contact hardening shadows. It cuts the fps by 1/3.

>Doom only has a handful of enemies in a small area at any given time, whereas deus ex has a largish open world going on
And what about the small indoor areas in Deus Ex which will also undoubtedly run like shit?

This is my computer. When I turn MSAA on in any game it crawls to ~30-40 FPS. With it off, no game struggles to maintain 250+

MSAA is truly awful and is likely the culprit for Deus Ex MD.

It's with msaa off, retard, with msaa it's 25 fps on 1080 in 1080p
youtube.com/watch?v=n7_NoDM3b9w

> tfw just going to play on PS4
> tfw not autistic enough to notice slighty below average FPS and background textures

Feels great.

What preorder?

I buy my games when they're finished and reviewed. What kind of retard pre-orders when stock is unlimited and downloads take no more than 20 minutes?

>CPU cooler than fucking room temperature

u wot m8
is this cooled with liquid helium or some shit

Give me the counter argument to the following fact:

It is easier to optimise software for a specific platform (a console) than it is to optimise your software for a wide range of platforms (every special snowflake PC you cucks buy with mommys money).

Look, send me as many pics showing how some overpriced rig runs some specific game at some specific level at a higher framerate than a console as you want. The simple fact is that next year, when the next set of games is released, games developers will have continued to find new ways to get the most out of the PS4 and Xbone out of necessity, and expect PC cucks to simply own a brand new €800 rig.

Or you could eun the game at high settings and get over 60 fps.

These threads are stupid hyperbole.

Well that's either an optimisation problem or just some silly futuristic settings being turned on in the Ultra graphics setting.
Which is actually the case here.
So I could just turn off the MSAA and contact hardening shadows and the game will probably run much better so it doesn't really matter.

Like many many issues with video games, Sup Forums just likes to overblow things for the sake of TORtanic-esque shitposting

You wouldn't find us irritating if you didn't feel deep down that we're right.

Who's the cuck, eh?

I upgrade my computer every 4 or 5 years

>25fps on 1080p
>"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH THIS IS TEEEERRRRIBLE MOMMY BUY ME A NEW GRAPHICS CARD ANYTHING BELOW 60FPS IS EYE CANCER WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"

>ur dum pc master race
You sure showed him.

>980 Ti
>nonsensical settings choices for benchmark
I'm cool, thanks.

I find you irritating because you're arrogant but wrong at the same time. If you weren't autistic you would understand that.

Pro-tip: The reason people don't like you IRL isn't because "they know you're right".

Several games run the same or better on similar PC hardware at similar settings.

He is dumb because 24 fps in movies is nothing but tradition. Film makers are basically a tribe of superstitious villages afraid of advancing technology. Their argument against higher framerates is literally "but muh cinematic feeling"!

desolation of smaug was a 60fps movie and it looked fantastic

I dont know how to read this graph.
Why does the graph key have two values labeled min and avg and show the same color for each value? Do the colors represent how hot the machine runs on average?

>CHS
>MSAA
>Futuristic settings
m8, the game's just poorly optimized.
Stop making excuses.

Have you noticed that literally no functioning adult has ever said "gee, I sure am bothered by the low framerate"? Only the worst kind of autists care about frames per second once it looks smooth (at 25fps)

>Several games run the same or better on similar PC hardware at similar settings.
And several more run like complete shit because the developers spent their time optimising their game to run on two specific platforms.

Nigger, it's on one of the most powerful GPUs on the market, a fucking $600 GPU.

Not playing on futureproof 720p

I never said it wasn't.

I'm just saying you can fix the issues by disabling some things

>Sup Forums thinks this game looks good enough to run like shit even on a GTX 1080
Kek

And yet a PS4 costs $400 new.

PC gamers: told.

The thing is you shouldn't have to, games like Thiaf (while shit) incorporated these settings without running like shit on hardware available at the time.
Hell, I'd argue that Thiaf looks better than DXMD.

Can you give me an example of a game that looks good and isn't just a tech demo?

DOOM

Nice hair :3

Why would anyone pre-order a cash-in sequel from Ubisoft?

No.
But I've put my screen order on hold.

Fair point, game was fucking beautiful. To be fair though, DOOM is an exceptionally good game, that doesn't mean that everything uglier than DOOM is bad.

>Tfw this look worse than a fucking CoD game
Why is this allowed?

>You know films are only 30fps right?
24hz films aren't interactive, and the only reason they look even remotely smooth is because of camera exposure time
even for games which require no reflexes whatsoever, like turn-based rpgs, 30fps will still look jerky as fuck unless the developers have made the huge advancements in technology to create 100% photorealistic motion blur filters

>Ubisoft

It's not an Ubisoft game.

Broforce is made with Unity and console CPUs have had horrendous CPU related issues with the engine. Every Unity game runs like ass on consoles. Great game btw

is his skin made out of cement?

And to be fair, you don't have to go as far up as Doom to get games that look better than that screenshot.

You have Crysis 3, Metro, TW3, etc, all of which look and run better.

Dude I have way more fun with games on my PC. Before with a PS4 I felt like the industry was just shitting Into my waiting mouth, but now I can access mods, pirate shitty games I don't want to pay for, and play both 15 year old and current modern games seamlessly.

It's early the inferior platform, and you're insecure that you are too much of a cuck to spend the time and money to actually get all you can get out of the experience.

>digital preorders

Literally why

What do you even get out of this, is Steam gonna run out of stock?

you can refund anyway so it's fine

25 fps doesn't look smooth in video games. In movies it does because they're drenched in motion blur but if you get any camera movement it turns into a blurry mess. I have heard people complain about "lag" in console games. They know something is wrong but they can't put it into words because they don't know much about it.

>And several more run like complete shit
Yes, because these devs don't bother putting any effort into it

I haven't played MD but Thiaf's maps were tiny as shit and pretty claustrophobic. I don't think it had contact hardened shadows though. It also didn't have msaa, it had ssaa.
