And thats a bad thing?

only problem i have with this game is that it feels lifeless

Hopefully it is. Your point?

Well it makes me wish I was just playing with a bird and a bear instead of these new characters whom I have no feelings for.

I also wish that it was just a Banjo and Kazooie game but you can thank Microsoft for that one m8

How do you know you wont ferl As inclined to these characters? Its not like they lack any charm design wise , as long as they have good chemistry i think itll all be gucci.

Reptile protagonists need to make a comeback

Well it's the little things, like the way the text boxes slide out along the bottom of the screen or how the menu screen makes different noises depending on which option you highlight.

Some of this is a little too on the nose.

How is the game supposed to garner its own identity if it keeps trying to be too much like the past?

You're right, we should add some new features that encourage creativity and mobility.

that's the eternal plight of kickstarter, either have a beat by beat bootleg clone or promise a molyneux game.

the problem is that people will pay for an exact remake of the thing they love while critics will throw a fit about the lack of innovation. you can't win

The same way Banjo copied off Mario 64 of course.

I loved this game

>bought Rare Replay
>which technically means I bought B-K:N&B for $1
>and still haven't played it

Save innovation for the sequel

Banjoe kazooie on pc when?

That's just a rare thing. Didn't you play their other games on n64 or are you just an underage memester?

I saw no merit in playing JFG or DK64.

Banjo-Kazooie is probably one of my favorite games on the platform, though.

Well that is exactly what the marketed it as.

It's a Rare Banjo team thing. DK64, Conker, and the other N64 game don't share a lot of those little elements, most of them are pulling explicitly from BK and BT.

It's very similar, but it'll also be different.

You won't enter a world, milk it and then leave. You'll have to come back and expand them or something like that.

DK64 was made by the banjo team.

What about conkers bad fur day?

>I saw no merit
How pretentious of you

>dk and conker don't share the same elements
Underage memesters exposing their self one post at a time

Today, I will remind them

If you want to post in this shit thread. You must pay the shit tax. Look at it.

Here's the 6 minutes of gameplay without voice over and less video compression.
jp.ign.com/yooka-laylee/5752/video/yooka-laylee6
Something about the first clip is really nice without any music.

They said that the demo world's missing NPCs and stuff for spoiler reasons, although I've only noticed the lack of Trowzer, Vendi, and any attainable pagies.

No it wasn't. It was made by the team that worked on DKC3.

The Banjo team was previously the same team that worked on the first two DKC games. This is the division that contained key people like Gregg Mayles and Chris Sutherland, the latter working at Playtonic now.

>strech goal: bosses

DK64 was made by the DKC3 team, Banjo was made by the DKC1-2 team. After Tooie, the Banjo team went to work on Ghoulies while the DK64 team moved on to Kameo.

That's interesting. Thanks for clarifying.

Thank you, king of shit.

>day one an unknown anonymous uploader uploads a patch to convert yooka and laylee into banjo and kazooie in the steam version

I wouldn't care if it's an exact clone.
You know if they had the rights they would have made a new Banjo Kazooie but can't. So this is the best we get, a thinly veiled Banjo Threeie.

And I'm more than happy to have that.

If people end up turning on this because its exactly what people wanted and asked for a classic 3d platformer i am actually going to lose my shit.

You should play it, it is pretty fun

...

no kidding, fuck my life.

holy shit, that looks amazing. If the music is good im fucking sold.

>Great sound design
>fun dialogue
>comfy atmosphere
>goofy aesthetic

theyre bringing it back boys

I unironically liked this game.

I think in this case that's not an issue since what they promised and what people wanted is really just another Banjo game in a different disguise.

Maybe if it turns out good enough and they make sequels, it'll start being more of its own thing.

But Banjo-Tooie was inferior.

woah

Same. It was fun and vibrant. Can't really say it didn't have annoying parts but overall it was just fun, which a lot of games seem to lack these days.

This is why I am hesitant on this game.

Best bet is to wait for the full release.

Do we know if...

1. Is Grant Kirkhope doing the OST?
2. What platforms its being released on
3. Game length & funding (dont want another NMS)
4. Whose directing the game?

Yeah it just came out at a really bad time and joking about the dead 3D platforming genre didn't help. More people would have liked it if it wasn't the only thing Banjo was getting in a decade, like Federation Force.

What am I looking at here?

Shouldn't it be since Xbox shit is coming to PC???

>Yes, along with David Wise
>Wii U, Xbone, PS4, PC
>I believe it's 5 huge worlds on top of the hub zones
>dunno

yes, we already do know that actually.

Nah.

or perhaps its not enough

That's why people want it. Banjo looks like the best game ever by modern standards, fuck it give us a clone.

>Is Grant Kirkhope doing the OST?
ye
youtube.com/watch?v=jLKikiy_ZFM

nothing is ever enough for you is it

>1. Is Grant Kirkhope doing the OST?
Yes, he's doing most of the music. David Wise is doing one world as well as assorted music, and Steve Burke from Kameo is doing the multiplayer and arcade music.
>2. What platforms its being released on
The three consoles and PC.
>3. Game length & funding (dont want another NMS)
$2,730,000, five main worlds + the hub world.
>4. Whose directing the game?
Chris Sutherland, lead engineer of B-K

I thought people wanted it for the furry porn?

>Grant Kirkhope AND David Wise

my nigga thats the best thing I've heard in years

>PC port

good answer

>5 worlds with hub

Pretty good

>dunno

Thanks mate. I appreciate the answers

no kidding. boo fucking hoo, Banjo Kazooie is quite honestly my favourite game of all time but I'm just glad to have that gameplay back, I don't care if it's them or a new universe. If the writing is good, great.

game doesnt look comfy.

banjo kazooie is maximum comfy

As did I, and as did most of my friends I played it with, it was fun, and I would have loved an expanded version with no build limits on PC.

But it wasn't Banjo 3, people were explicitly expecting banjo 3 after the early marketing , and the early shots at BK in the beginning of the game perma-triggered people.

The game itself is solid though.

I'm in it for Yooka's feet. Ever since he got revealed I've been jerking to his feet every day. Toybox was a dream come true!

toilet paper roll, put up the wrong way

Feel free to off yourself

Same with pretty much everyone looking forward to this game, unfortunately we might never get another one.

nice chart user

If you guys watch this anons video, its literally Banjo Kazooie. Don't you think they would've made it the bear and bird if they could? The characters look a bit different and sound different, but aside from that you've got Banjo Kazooie. Watch the video and see, its pretty comfy.

...

What are you, the fucking lord of shit? Thanks shit lord.

>mfw there's an enemy that is just a pair of googly eyes

I know, that was my point ().

a real loose cannon

Not him, but I'm fine with Laylee, it's Yooka that seems really god damn soulless no matter how I look at him.

Yeah, and the dialogue hasn't really given much of an idea of Yooka's character either. Laylee's the one talking 90% of the time.

Also I hope some character tells Laylee off somewhere in the game because she's been a cruel bitch, which is funny but she needs something coming to her.

So far this seems like the levels are way too big and not as tight and polished as in BK

Oh cool, now we're actively looking for things to dislike in games that seem great just because we're unable to play a fixing video game as entertainment and not act like it has to be fucking art. And not just art, but the pinnacle of art. Fuck you OP. Fuck you people who really think like this. Enjoy a fucking game for once and stfu with needless complaints

These.

this guy gets it

So place your bets. Which will come out first, Y-L or AHiT? Both are slated for 2017 release. I'm betting on Y-L just because they've made more progress in a shorter amount of time and are experienced devs.

will the bat be more useful than the chameleon?

Yooka-Laylee for sure. It's made by industry vets who understand where they're at within development. The initial release date (October 2016) was a rough date near the beginning of development. I highly doubt they'll delay it again

okay, this is legit mindblowing

> now we're actively looking
>now
Hi, welcome to the board. Please don't shit post and enjoy your stay.

>Kartos, God of Ore
For fuck's sake

I hated the fact everything had googly eyeballs in B-K and I hate it still with Y-L.

Hate it in Mario too, but it's usually not as obnoxious since they are almost always just two dots instead of googly eyes.

Did you see the enemy that is just a set of googly eyes?

>taking the piss

Thats why I love the Rare devs

That's not their logo anymore though, otherwise Rare is and was golden toilet rolls :^)

I wonder what people think about the fart-bubble ability...

haha

Haha

If it wasnt obvious by this point this game is literally supposed to be Banjo Kazooie 3.

I wish there was some sort of animation to it. It just kinda appears.

haha.

haha

It's a neet gameplay ability and I'm excited to see the water world now but the visual needs a lot of work
Haha

this desu
