One of many reason why mgsv didn't felt like the game set in its time period, but current.
I know series have many fictional things, but look for mgs3 for instance, that game manage to do it right with its own crazy shit.

One of the main fuckups of the MGS series, apart from making the MGS3 codec crew into the Patriots, is the fucking Metal Gears between MGS3 and MG1. Fuck me, Sahelanthropus and ZEKE were more advanced than the TX-55 or even REX. I also bundle Huey having anything to do with Big Boss into that fuck up, too.
