I personally like to rush ahead of the party, pulling everything in my path, but instead of keeping aggro I just continue running. It's OK user. Just remember that if you're going too fast, too slow, doing too little DPS, ever drop aggro ever, wearing anything but top notch gear, don't know every boss strat in advance - then you should end yourself. It's fun!

Should I play Neverwinter or Final Fantasy XIV? I'm level 30 on Neverwinter (thanks to a double xp weekend), and I'm only lvl 6 on FFXIV so far, but I've had a lot more fun with Neverwinter and I have friends who play it. The only problem is, I hear Neverwinter has a lot of pay2win bullshit in the end game. I think I'd rather just rough out FFXIV if it gets better instead of investing my time in a game with pay2win shit.

i used to tank heroic raids in WoW and while im not great i would atleast consider myself good (since all MMO's with tanks are wowripoffs or even worse than that so do i think these advice apply to most)


the first and most important is understanding your own class. your abilities, when to use them and all that jazz.

second is dedication. you should start training untill you're using the correct abilities as a reflex, silence, proper damage mitigation but also as in having proper gear, potions, professions, etc, etc.

thirdly, know the battles. when i was going into a new raid i would first read up on it, then find a video of someone doing it while they were explaining the mechanics, then -if possible- someone playing my spec, to watch how he did it. before i would enter the battle i would talk to the other tank to make sure that we were on the same page on everything.

you should be a fairly competent tank by this point, but to be a extraordinary tank so should you also

take command, while not neccesary so have i noticed it to be beneficial for the tank to be the one that makes the calls, this however requires mastery over all other points, and for you to be the kind of person to be able to make said calls and have people listen to you

know the other classes, the deeper your knowledge of other classes -and thus, your own raid will- the more you understand and thus use the synergy to your advantage

know your players, this will compliment the previous two points and help create better teamwork


and then you just polish all of those skills ad nauseum
