>san andreas has fully working mirrors
this game is 12 years old. why are devs not capable of doing this anymore??
San andreas has fully working mirrors
Other urls found in this thread:
unreal engine is hard to work with sometimes
consoles can't even reach 30 fps. what makes you think they can do mirrors?
b8
mirrors are generally just rendering another version of the room and another character to sync animations with
with the new modern ultra HD graphics most games can barely run at 30 FPS, trying to effectively double the amount of shit they have to render would make the game shit itself
>mirrors are generally just rendering another version of the room and another character to sync animations with
This is an old myth that is entirely untrue.
Because mirrors mean rendering the entire world twice, and stuff can't handle it
it takes like 10 kb of info to render the same room twice in san andreas, and takes probably 1000x that to do it in a more modern game that has the level detail modern gamers seem to need
Consoles.
They are? Dead rising 2 had working mirrors.
you ever read the foundation series?
mankind gets so apathetic and content/lazy that they start going backwards
New Hitman has working mirrors
retard needs a book to brainstorm armchair philosophy.
realistic mirros look unrealistic in videogames for some reason
Duke 3D and Prey also did it.
The thing is ,you can't do it "properly" as it tanks performance, so you cheat by creating a duplicate room, and nobody can be fucked to make it work unless absolutely necessary.
>fully working mirrors
it's not a mirror you dip
>muh its just a videogame so its not a real mirror
yeah we already know that you fucking autist
>caring about mirrors instead of gameplay
PCfags, everybody.
so does GTAV...
TOPPEST kek
>drive around in my car
>want to use rearview mirror
>oh wait its just some grey pixelated shit
san andreas is a console game you fucktard
How else would they reflect the same imagery?
with cameras
Umm.... a mirror?
>SA was released 12 years ago
Games with working mirrors released in the last 5 years off the top of my head:
>Max Payne 3
>Hitman Absolution
>Hitman: DALE Edition
>GTAV
>Batman Arkham Origins
>Uncharted 4
>The Last of Us (I think)
>Dirt Rally
>Euro Truck Simulator 2
>Sleeping Dogs
>Serious Sam 3
>Metro Last Light
>The Witcher 2
>Spec Ops: The Line
>Shadow Warrior
This isn't counting games with screen space reflections, just mirrors.
Forza Horizon 2 has really janky mirrors that reflect but not certain details.
Halo 2 "remake" had a reflective window in the opening mission which was weird.
>there are anons on Sup Forums who believe san andreas look better on PC than on PS2
MGSV and GZ had real time visor reflections in cutscenes. I don't know why the quality took a giant drop from GZ to TPP though. They were in cutscenes so they shouldn't have had too much of a performance hit. Dead Rising 3 had weird looking window reflections too.
But they're technically two models on the screen, all with their own polygons, shading, etc. They're not like IRL mirrors.
