They're easier to play and get into I guess. Although in SFV Ryu and Ken are seriously two of the best characters in the game. They have meterless DPs and shit out damage. Ken also has a ton of approach options and corner carry.

Combos are literally artificial difficulty. If being fun or hard to pull does not add meaningful decisions and complexity to the game, which is what makes a game good. If I made a game in which all bnb combos required deadly rave inputs it wouldn't be fun learning how to do it.

If you want to argue that it's simplistic I can agree with you, but low execution does not mean a game is bad. The SF series in general still has a high skill ceiling because it greatly rewards intelligent play.
