fun game. i liked building towns in the first game better but the dungeons were a lot nicer in 2. and having only two characters instead of FUCKING SIX was much more manageable.
i do not need to think about the greatest game of all time
Good game, but too cinematic for my tastes.
I wish they'd remake it for 3ds
Fun as fuck. I had more fun building my robot than I have with some entire other rpgs.
>Max and Monica never kiss
>don't even hug
Stupid game.
it's a meme game favored by reddit
>i liked building towns in the first game better
How? DC2 gives you lots of freedom to build stuff while DC1 has preset buildings and it gets rid of building towns halfway through the fucking game for stupid gimmicky shit
they hold hands, that's like third base for animes
also monica uses a one way time travel to stay w/ max in the bonus ending
Dunno, man, fucking six characters was great too.
all of those characters are just glorified door openers unless you do crazy amounts of grinding though, because the enemy scaling is really bad and it's built around the level toan is at from fighting solo for most of the first dungeon while all the characters start at the equivalent of level 1 but with more health
No Xiao/10
all the houses in DC2 look identical to the houses of their same type, too, you know? all the wooden houses and brick houses look the same as each other. the houses in DC1 might be preset but at least they're more unique and have different interiors. also, the villagers in DC1 actually walk around outside instead of staying put in one stationary location inside their house forever, until/unless you tell them to get back in the train.
sure, in DC2 you can decorate more to your own tastes, but the villages in DC1 felt more lively to me just because people actually walked around and had relationships with each other.
also, it's only the last two areas that are 'gimmicky shit'. the last one doesn't have proper Georama at all b/c it's memories, which i agree was boring as fuck, but the place before that you built a giant robot, which was at least equal to building the stupid garden thing in the final dungeon in DC2. that was 'gimmicky shit' too. in DC1 you build the MC's village, the foresty/jungle village, the seaside village and the desert village. in DC2 you build the forest village, the mountain platform village, the sea village and then the volcano village. it's the same amount of towns.
2 has the equivalent of 6 characters because you have two characters with two weapons, robot and monster transformation
it's the same general amount of stuff to level up, only consolidated/made more interesting and it cuts down on the "time to switch characters just so they can open a door and then go back to someone I actually want to use" nonsense which just wastes time with loading screens
I enjoyed it.
I hated the golf though, cause I was really bad at it.
Also the Mayor was a fucking pedophile, why in the actual fuck did he have clown costumes for boys and a skimpy tiger outfit for girls?
Zelda ripoff, have you even seen the cover art of the first game? They don't even try to hide it or anything, what a bunch of copypasters, if you faggots played these games you deserve the chair, all of you, fucking dipships.
I could not have imagined playing Spheda on some of those levels, thank the nine for quicksaves.
DC1 < DC2
DC1 OST > DC2 OST
Monica > Xiao
>I hated the golf though, cause I was really bad at it
I loved the explanation for it, mentioning that people can't pick it up or bad things will happen. While standing next to Max's fucking robot.
You bastard.
Shit was controller throwing rage enducing at times.
I hated, well all of it, but in particular I hated the first dungeon because touching the sides was a fail.
>spheda
triggered. i sucked at it EVERYWHERE but the seaside caves. the sewer dungeon had those fucking channels i'd always knock my ball into, the forest would end up ricocheting into the trees and end up on the other side of the map, in the mountains i'd just knock the damned thing off a ledge and i remember really hating the volcano area because of holes in the ground or something. i'm fucking garbage at spheda.
Just fuck off already with your shitty zelda ripoff discussion you bunch of whores I hope you all die you fucking dipshits.
This is Dark Cloud, not Alundra.
Dark Cloud is a Rogue Like with base building.
get your spikey dildo out of your ass already, jesus fuck.
>hurr durr muh zelda
zelda is good, too. but at least Dark Cloud has catgirls
It was the one time I was truly glad I never got far in this game when I was younger. I know for a fact if I ever got the chance to play Spheda when I was younger, the game would have been destroyed for bringing the demon out to the surface.
Just like Medievil did. I did not get to play that game again until many years later.
So you're telling me you see this pic and think of nothing about zelda? Right on, faggot.
it plays nothing like Zelda. who gives a shit about box art?
You dare say hurr durr muh zelda to me when you clearly go
>hurr durr muh catgirls
Is that really a selling point of a videogame to you? What a depressing person. Go fap to lolis on you drooling retard.
there really wasn't any reason to use anyone other than Toan, Ruby and Osmond except on forced character floors
the only resemblance is the green hat.
but if that is your logic, then every boxart with a character with a red hat MUST be a mario rip off, right?
I call it Dark Chronicle where I'm from, but it's closer to "Minigames: The Game". Thoroughly enjoyed it. No other game has a tree sneeze a gun at me.
Damn damn damn that griffon
Sirus*
yeah i'm seriuos fuck griffyn
>fuck off with your zelda clone
>It's not a Zelda clone.
>i haven't played it but look at this boxart, it reminds me of zelda so it must be shit
What the fuck?
Zero resemblence besides them both being video games and having a green hat
I remember those magazine covers.
I feel kind of guilty for abusing the Broken Dagger glitch to avoid grinding but honestly it made the game much more enjoyable to not have to worry so much about it and just get to use everyone.
I enjoyed it, but I wish chapter 7 was still accessible during the postgame. I never did any postgame stuff because I got tired of the game while trying to get all the medals.
How is Dark Cloud ANYTHING like Zelda? Are you telling me Dark Cloud 1 is a Zelda rip off because Toan has a green hat? I didn't realize Nintendo trademarked green hats. The games are nothing alike.
man I'm so glad I don't wear green hat.
I bet you're the kinda person that accuses anyone wearing a camo pattern of stealing Valor
...
>all the games, all the babes!
imagine if that tagline is used today
>obvious marketing somehow makes any Legend of Zelda game play similarly in any capacity to either Dark Cloud game
?????????????????????????????
We're living in the wrong timeline. Imagine if we had more dark clouds instead of skyward sword and windwaker (it's ok but I prefer DC).
>right now in some alternate universe someone is enjoying the newest installment in the Dark Cloud series
meanwhile in 2016
Well, Zelda games have been meme tied shovelware ever since, so I guess they're right.
Or how about this timeline
Sony funds Dark Cloud 3 instead of dogshit like
Order 1886
Beyond: Two Souls
Until Dawn
Days Gone
It was actually really easy with the exception of the sewer (which is where most people would probably try it out) and the volcano.
You just had to point it out, didn't you
Dark Cloud 1 was better.
My parents never buy me Dark Cloud 2 because the boobs in cover, and nobody make HD release for modern Consoles/Steam
Dark Cloud 2 was objectively superior in most regards. It was an actual GOOD example of streamlining mechanics.
Even better.
Well DC1 had beter music and inventory (items, weapons and gems separately)
But most things were better in DC2.
There's nothing zeldaish about Dark Cloud's box art. If you said 2, which was just a plain background with text, you might have been on to something.
>DC1
>Floor where you're locked to Goro only
>it's fucking full of those witches that glide around faster than he can catch them
it inspired dark souls if anything
>100% independent
Where did we go so wrong?
>Liking generic catgirl neko shit
I mean her origin was quite literally fanfiction-tier.
Dropping nostalgia bombs
youtu.be
Personally I prefer the original's theme.

>started playing Dark Cloud again cuz never finished it back in the days
>forgot how fucking clunky the combat is
God damn those fucking bats always get to poison me before I manage to hit them!!
If that wasnt enough, weapons are as durable as paper.
The second game doesnt have that much better of a combat but still holy shit the first one is driving me nuts.
Dat 'zelda killer' meme. Although i'll give you that Toan is dangerously similar to link, the games are not at all similar.
Not samefag, but Toan was pretty similar to link.
>signature green hat
>association with wind
>time schenanigans
>silent protaganist
>swords
One of the best games of all time.
Honestly, ranged weapons are much better than melee. Durability loss isn't dependant on the monster you hit and you can easily nail tricky fuckers like bats.
Pretty good taste bud. Extra kudos on Radiant Historia.
Is that Valkyria Chronicles 3? I heard 2 and 3 were shit compared to one. Should I give them a shot?
2 is not worth it. Too much grinding and is quite badly written.
3 has worse graphics and smaller maps, but the best gameplay, characters, story, content (25-30 hours for the main story alone, around 50 to S rank everything and do every sidequest) and arguarbly music out of all three games.
Give it a shot. Is almost fully translated (besides a single sidequest I believe) and is very easy to emulate it on PPSSPP.
>Dark Cloud 3 NEVER EVER
Does the story of 2 tie into 3? I'd rather know what's going on. The war in one was fairly interesting with the whole "not europe" setting.
My favorite game of all time.An absolute delightful game that makes me yearn for simpler days.I remember staying home from school whilst sick and spending the whole day on the final dungeon.
>mfw that twist
>weapon about to level up
>locked on a floor where you can't switch weapons and ABS reduce each time it's used
2 takes place after 1, and has a high school setting where they show cadets trying to become soldiers. There is a civil war after the Queen is shown to be a Darcsen and shenanigans ensues where the characters have to aid in the resistance. The academy also experiments on making Artificial Valkyrias (something along the lines of how Maximiliam was in his final encounter) using real Valkyrias as data to make experiments.
3's story happens at the same time as 1 (War with the Empire) and focuses on Kurt and the Nameless, a penal squad of soldiers that have to follow suicide missions or else they get executed and are given dangerous prototype weapons that could blow up in their faces and shit like that. The game is quite a bit darker than the first and overall has better writing, giving every character a sidequest where you find out why did they end up in the penal squad (there is a serial killer there, for example) and has cameos from both the first game (Squad 7) and the second (the main characters, so like 4-5 battles) where they help your squad.
You can download it on PS4 right now.
I'm gonna pick this up now while it's on sale but can I play it now or should I play Dark Cloud first?
Looks like Link, plays nothing like Zelda.
>Had older brother who was scared of this game for whatever fucking reason
>Wouldn't let my play it
>Even my Mother who babies him was all "lol dude what the fuck"
I remember this. I ended up having to return it and never got past the first hour.
you can play it now, they're not connected except mechanically.
>Playing video games for romance.
was he afraid of clowns or something? there are a lot of clowns in the beginning.
>use catgirl through most of the game since she's my favorite
>her special ability is replaced by the flying rabbit asshole
>it's not even subtle, just "oh he can go over your platforms too, haha loser"
You got this piece of shit
I'll never know.
Rogue Galaxy was good though.
