yeah stalker is good. Graphics are a little dated but the game is solid and the mods are pretty good as they vary the game quite a bit. I would recommend SOC first and then Call of pyprat as if you did COP first then SOC you'll find that SOC feels dated and you might not be interested as much.
Also if you like those games you'll love Metro 2033 which is heavily based off of Stalker but a much more story driven linear game

It's my favorite game. It's the least casual game there is, but it's not a sim. It's just a great game that perfected what it set out to do, and this is coming from the most hardcore player probably in the world.
The best part about the game is the expansive AI system that runs the game world. It's my only 10/10 game
