I "buy" games from Steam.
I need to pirate so I can play the games once Valve goes bankrupt and my Steam collection is gone.

Colombian here. There is no way to buy (legally) PC games without importing them here so Steam is a godsend. Add to that regional pricing.
Probably it's not different for your average mexician.

Steam was the best thing to happen to PC period.

PC was on the fucking deathbed a couple of years ago, PC developers were going console for bigger profits and for a while almost nothing was coming to the PC anymore.

Steam came along and showed that there was a potential market on PC, and these days even japs realize the importance of PC ports and steam still has a ton of indie shit that never makes it to console.

To be honest i also discoverd new games or studio's who i would never try without pirating

Few recent examples would be total war and dark souls,valkyria chronicles. I downloaded shogun 2 back i the day and loved it, bought it and later i also got medival and atilla( Kinda disappointed with atilla but i've atleast almost spent 1000 hours on all the games toghter.) Same with Dark Souls and valkyria chronicles.

When there is something truly good i'll buy it sure to support the studio but when it's just to check it out or you are not sure your going to the your full money out of it, i'm not gonna spent 40-60 dorra on a game I might not finnish.
