I think every Larian RPG besides the original Divine Divinity is shit.
>Best soundtrack >Good combination of ARPG and CRPG elements. >Gorgeous isometric graphics (Probably the best looking isometric engine for me)
Also, I hate controlling the whole 2 people RPG thing. One guy, or a party. 2 characters and their whole inter chit chat makes me cringe. >Also, sell me Original sin
Kevin Parker
>Larian Thread >every Larian game but the first is shit So it's not really a Larian thread is it? Also there are no good ARPG elements.
Austin Johnson
You're welcome to talk about other ones if you really want to. I was just making a statement. You mean there are no good ARPG elements per se, or there are no good elements in the game? Also, explain.
Daniel Moore
D:OS has the best combat out of all WRPGs.
You can use everything you have in and out of battlefields, so you can prep the area you're gonna fight in before you start, party members only enter combat if they're aggro'd by the enemies. So your rogue can go sneaking about and come in from the enemy's rear for backstabs midway through combat. This means that there is a separate time for both that works really well.
Also all the elemental combos are pretty fun, makes being a mage feel real nice when you can do shit like make mist and then electrocute huge swathes of land with it.
Or get banned from ever using ice magic by the guy you're playing with because you always trip him with it.
Haven't played the enhanced edition, so I don't know anything about what it did.
Christian Thompson
I'm saying Diablo-like games suck. Divinity OS is held back by its shitty Diablo style itemization and level locked loot.
Julian Hernandez
I dunno, I like their new one. But it's a completely different game from Divine Divinity, that's for sure.
When it comes to ARPG's, I'd rather play something in the vein of D2 or POE, but there was a lot of stuff in DD that was just real fuckin' cool.
Wyatt Cook
I hate the cartoon like style, I could never make it further than the first town. Everyone keeps talking about the awesome combat though, I'll have to bite the bullet. I usually don't care for graphics if they are not like that. >DoW 3 will have the same issue. >despair
Nathaniel Cox
>the original Divine Divinity is shit. as someone who abhors the godawful gameplay of diablolikes but loved DD I implore you to reconsider your shit opinion
Austin Smith
I don't get the humor in original sin, it's like ultra dry british stuff. Like when you first get to the end of time place everyone is just making dry jokes about it. It's hard for me to take something seriously if the characters don't
Liam Brown
>Or get banned from ever using ice magic by the guy you're playing with because you always trip him with it. Should have had him put some nails in his shoes.
Xavier Mitchell
but that's kinda the point, to be Monty Python: Fantasy Geimu Edition
Charles Barnes
Translation: My opinions are garbage and should not be taken seriously. Please waste your valuable time trying to convince me of how stupid my opinions are. I'd rather sell you on hanging yourself.
Noah Morales
Well I like Monty Python, at least the movies anyways. This game is like a poor copy of that. Humor is so hard to do and this games comes off as forced if nothing else. It seems like they tried to put a joke into every dialog box.
Jeremiah Johnson
DD was such a charming little romp. Fuck the prince though.
Charles Watson
>can't run him through as soon as he starts talking shit to beat the game early
Carter Ross
>Ad Hominem... tralalal I'm a fag
Talk about the games and why they actually are good. This is a board about video games, and if you are here your """precious time""" would be better spent to offer something about said video games, than insulting random people which brings nothing to the conversation or makes me care.
Now talk about the games or gtfo you massive faggot.

oh shit, I'm sorry

I agree OP. The combat system was great.I loved the variety of abilities. The story and level design were also top-notch. Great comedy throughout the game.
I tried the other divinity games but didn't like them nearly as much. In Dragon Commander but I hated the RTS elements although I still finished it. I couldn't even finish Divinity: Original Sin because it was so boring. The action points system was like a bad version of Fallout, and everything seemed to move at a really slow, plodding pace. Divine Divinity was great because things could move really fast if you used your abilities well.
Nathaniel Hill
The character progression system was nothing revolutionary, but still open enough to make interesting choices. Warrior who uses Freeze and Heal. With these two you could take on stronger enemies like orcs pretty easily and power level. If you are smart enough to utilize it to the fullest. It was a fairly open game also, in the sense of Gothic. You can go anywhere, but don't expect to not get brutalized and killed.
SCALING IS THE REAL (RPG) ORIGINAL SIN >Fuck you Bethesdacucks
Robert Wright
I'm going to attempt to play D:OS EE with two Lone Wolf characters, with as little magic as possible. Maybe one character with a point in Hydro just because rain is insanely useful and there's not a lot of alternate healing options.
Adam Sanchez
>do quest at the start with the vampire and the weed >grab up free super powered bow >level up enough to pump dex until you can use it >destroy entire catacombs with no effort
>get freeze and poison >take on any number of big guys provided you have enough magic
>get scorpion traps and that skill that makes followers permanent until death >walk around with 5 rape machines attacking things that are off the screen so all you have to do is pick up the loot
The amount of game breaking you could do was fantastic
Sebastian Anderson
Archery was fucking OP anyway. Also:
>Search for Slasher >When you see it make a save game >With reloading the special stats change >Reload until you have Freeze on Slasher >??? >Level stats and fuck shit up >Protip: Don't give to the Orcs you mongs
Nathaniel Foster
too easy i just used death scorpion traps
Brayden Wood
I remember the game crashing if you reloaded too many times (maybe just reloading the same file) but I went ahead and crashed it twice in the search for 5 charm slots on the vampire boots
Was pure mage any good? A lot of spells sounded like garbage that you'd need melee or ranged to support when you ran out of magic
Nicholas Campbell
I never actually tried pure mage. My game crashed back in the day whenever I would try to pick out the mage character. I know that it really doesn't matter what character you choose (except for the special ability). But I reckon it's pretty OP when it's leveled. The potion system should make it easy also.
