I have an OLED Vita on 3.57.

Should I buy a new Vita?

you should buy two new vitas

Sure why not?

y tho

y not

BUY IT USED THEY DESERVE TO BE PUNISHED FOR REMOVING THE OLED SCREEN. WHY DOESN'T SONY RECOGNIZE THE VITA AS A PLATFORM?

The OLED screen is overrated.
And the new Vita is better in literally every single other way it is possible to be better

I have small, feminine hands, so how's the form factor on the Slim?
And what makes the OLED so good?

How so?

The Vita 2000 sounds like the perfect system for you.

I should check what firmware my vita has. I have a first generation vita and the last game I played was P4 Golden when it was just released. Are the newer version vitas any better than the first gen?

WAY better battery life, better processor and RAM, (which doesn't matter ingame so much, but everything loads WAY faster), the back touchscreen is smaller so you don't hit it accidentally as much, better form factor, actually uses USB-mini to charge like a phone, and one GB of internal storage space so you don't need a memory card to store your game saves

>And what makes the OLED so good?

Deeper colors and blacks, which was the entire reason OLED was invented as an LED alternative. If you look at old/new Vitas displaying the same thing side-by-side, the OLED just looks slightly richer.

However, the difference is so minor that I personally wouldn't even let the screen be a determining factor in choice. It should be entirely based on which unit you like more overall and which feels best in your hands.

I actually did buy a slim Vita after buying an original Vita.

Specifically because the original Vita was TOO nice, and I was terrified of playing it for fear of scratching it or fucking it up some other way.

It is the single most autistic action I have ever performed.

Holy shit, are you literally me?

I got tired of my original Vita from 2013 having the touch screen go out and bought myself a slim. I haven't thought of using the OLED since.

Guilty

my brother gave me a PSP he found and I homebewed it or w/e and it fucking sucks. Shit controls tiny screen. Portable gaming is a mistake

>better processor and RAM

I'm afraid whatever info source you got this from is mistaken. the CPU, GPU, and RAM modules are identical in both models, as are the loading times from a game card or memory card.

The slim's boost in loading speed happens when the data is coming from the internal 1GB because integrated storage is ALWAYS faster than removable media.

They're $99 on eBay right now.. Might as well.

someone's mad they were late to the party and got stuck with the slim

Should I update my OLED or stick with 3.57 until piracy comes out?

I really want to download Tactics: War of the Lions, but I'd have to update it to the current version to access the PSN store.

Don't feel bad, user. The original Vita is an incredibly sexy piece of hardware and it's only natural to want to protect something so beautiful.

What is this about?
Is there something wrong with the OLED vita?

>tfw hands are so big and alien like that holding my vita is so uncomfortable

Should I buy another OLED or just get a slim?

I already have an OLED, but too autistic to get it scratched

Just get a slim. It's a bit more toy-like so you'll be less paranoid.

Don't take that to mean it feels cheap or has lower build quality; it absolutely doesn't. It's just as well-made as the original. The difference is that Sony designed the original as a high end consumer electronic for people who can afford nice things and made it look the part, and designed the slim to be a more financially accessible version that isn't too delicate for a parent to buy for a kid

thank you kid
