So Sup Forums, has any other playable character died in a Final Fantasy game? Or is Aeris the exception?

In Final Fantasy 6 (III on the SNES), if you do not wait until the last few seconds during a timed event where everything's about to go boom, then you lose one of the most based characters in any FF game ever. It is preventable though, if you know about it.
That's a disgusting sprite, here's a better one
>What is Auron
Do us a favor and join him, OP
Half the playable cast of FFIV, and a bunch of others, die during the course of the game.
Tellah in FFIV dies and stays dead. Also that manly motherfucker Galuf dies after fist fighting a tree made of pure evil at 0hp
Almost the entire team in Type 0 dies at the end. Only two survive out of all of them.
Don't forget about Leo
Obvious bait is obvious.
Galuf was so based. And FFIV had the best villain to this date.
I'm on chapter 7 of Type 0 and I really hope Machina doesn't survive or if he survives that he has survior's guilt and he feels like shit forever, especially since Rem is obviously not going to be one of the survivors
Everyone else is cool but god I hate that fag
It's pretty common for an FF cast to have a party member die in the middle of the game.
Minwu, Tella, Galuf, Shadow, Aerith, I wouldn't know about 9, etc.
FFIV, like everyone, several times over.
God that was such a badly written game
>What is Auron
you mean WHO is. also, auron was already dead from the start of the game. do me a favor and join him
>auron was already dead from the start of the game
Just reading this line makes me realize I would like to see Bruce Willis play Auron.
Pretty sure like half the cast died in FFII.
Minwu and Ricard in II
Shadow in VI can die when the game splits.
AND he dies in his ending.
Also Galuf dies in V, and is fully replaced by his qt granddaughter Krile (total daughterfu). She gets all his stats and stuff.
Enjoy your shittersweet ending that I'm spoiling right now. Machina and Rem are the survivors.
>Galuf fights beyond zero HP
>party members actually try to use curative magic and items to bring save him
>Exdeath was originally coded to have permament Regen status when you fought him later, to emphasize how he would just recover from any damage that was inflicted on him by the Dawn Warriors.
FFV was the most based FF game.
>FF1
None
>FF2
Josef, Minwu, Gordon, Ricard
>FF3
Desch but he is a guest so he doesn't count
>FF4
Telah
>FF5
Galuf
>FF6
None and no, Leo doesn't count. he is an NPC at best and it's like counting Cid, and nobody counts Cid
>FF7
Aeris
>FF8
Squall
>FF9
Vivi but that is in the epilogue and of natural causes so it's not the same
>FF10
Auron was already dead and Tidus dies at the end
>FF12
Reddas dies but he was just a guest so doesn't really count
>FF13
None
Galuf in FF5
I don't believe you because Rem is dying of AIDS and Cancer
I'll see when I finish the game. I'll finish it tomorrow
'n-no a-auron doesnt count because of these goalposts im trying to shift XD'
You asked for playable characters that died. Auron is a playable character. Auron died.
kys
This thread would be massive spoilers so I'm not going to spoil tag anything.
-Half the cast of FF2 die, and that includes half the player characters.
-A bunch of characters fake die (they get better), but Tellah is the only player character that dies for real in FF4.
-Galuf dies in FF5 and it's probably the most many death any FF character has ever gotten.
-Shadow dies at the end of FF6, but he can die early if you fuck up.
-Aerithpth dies in FF7 unless you do the secret event to bring her back as a ghost.
-Freya dies metaphorically because FF9 forgets she exists.
-Auron died BEFORE FF10 and passes on at the end. Oh, and Tidus was an illusion and also dies at the end.
-Rishfee was too good and too pure for this world and sacrificed himself so that you can live in FF11.
-FF12 several temporary party members die.
-13 has Fang and Vanille become frozen in carbonite at the end of it, and I think all of reality just fucking ends at the end of 13-3
-14 had them literally bring the end of the world about so they could restart it in ff14-2
auron passed before the events of FFX story, he was just never sent. him being playable doesn't make him not dead you fucking idiot. play the game
Calling it now
Prompto will die in FFXV
Doesn't Desch survive? He just hops out of the lava later.
>shadow
>character
Oh that's right, everyone thought he died in the tower but he is just alive and well in the credits
I forgot about that
>him being playable doesn't make him not dead you fucking idiot
I literally said 'Auron died' in the post you replied to. At no point in time did I ever claim he wasn't dead. At no point in time did the original question ever state that the character had to die DURING the game.
>has any other playable character died in a Final Fantasy game?
Auron is IN a FF game.
Auron DIED IN the FF game. THEY EVEN SHOW THE SCENE WHERE HE DIED. IN the game.
Auron was a PLAYABLE CHARACTER
Does your brain not work right?
Tidas doesn't die, he fades away.
That is pretty much the same as dying
But user, you can bring Tidus back in X-2!
The only problem is it involves playing X-2!
at no point does auron die IN the game you fucking idiot. i'm not going to spoon feed you, go play the game. does your brain work?
not so much a life, but something was taken that day
>I can't into English and get mad at other people for my blatant retardation
>Words only have one meaning XD
kys
>FF10
you can play seymour in one battle. some time later you kill him.
guess that counts if you are nitpicking
i'm sorry you're too slow to understand the story of the game, user. but being unsent is not the same as being alive. now do me a favor and don't reproduce
he was just giving him a massage
Do yourself a favor and stop replying. This is an incredibly obvious bait thread filled with incredibly obvious bait posts.
Use this oppertunity to learn how not to be baited so easily.
In that case you can count Zack and Sephiroth for FF7 as well as Leo for FF6 but that is just stupid
Aerith is my waifu.
she's everybody's waifu
if you know what i mean
how do you fuck up your waifus name. s isnt even NEAR t and h
FFX-2 was fun to play
It just got insufferable every time a character opened its mouth.
No, she's mine!
But that's her name.
cant you read op
FF4: Tellah
FF5: Gulaf
FF6: Shadow if you do not wait for him on the floating isle
FF7: Tifa's tits
FF8: You all died 5 years ago and everything was an afterlife dream
FF9: the fun died for the series
FF10: HAAA HAAA AHAAA
FF11: everyones characters died
FF12: dunno
FF13: niggas kid died
FF14: almost everyone besides the white haired kid and tataru dies
FF15: Noct will die
i somewhat agree.
the battlesystem is really great despite changing dresses. but even then, it somewhat rewards you for adapting to a situation.
the levelsystem was also good in my opinion
>being dead isnt the same thing as being dead
>arcade version
sounds fucking awful
It's dresspheres, not dresses. Most outfits don't even have dresses.
where's the *moans* option?
>FF12: dunno
FUCKING REDDAS YOU IDIOT
Every 4th guy in FFII
Except the Pirate Girl and Leon
I couldnt get into FF12, the license system and the hundreds of hidden shit like touching a chest 5 minutes into the game will cause someone from Sony to come to your house and molest your cat while you watch and forces to to masturbate and refuses to stop until you come with clown makeup on.
You forgot the Prince.
Death among playables is very common in mainline FFs.
FFI: Nobody.
FFII: Josef, Richard, Minh.
FFIII: Unne.______
FFIV: Tellah.____________________________
FFV: Galuf. Possibly zero to three of the others also.
FFVI: Banon, Leo, Shadow, eleven moogles, (probably Vicks and Wedge).
FFVII: Cait Sith #1, Sephiroth.
BCVII: Nobody.___________________
DoCVII: Cait Sith #2. __________
CCVII: Zack.
FFVIII: Rinoa as Ultimecia. Or Squall, if you prefer.
FFIX: Everyone that wasn't a guest.
FFX: Seymour. Technically nobody else, maybe not even him, if he was already dead.
FFX-2: Same as above. (Concerning Lenne.)
FFXII: Vossler, Reddas.
FFXIII: No one, because we can't have nice things.
FFXIII-2: Serah, because we still can't have nice things.
LRXIII: Nobody._
I would say that Aeris' death is still the best one though, because it's sudden and leaves things unresolved. Especially Cloud's guilt over beating her being a nice touch.
If you're going to count Cait Sith 1 then you might as well count Reks too.
>Squall
Why do people cling so hard to that game theory level shit.
I forgot Reks, I apologize. He was a nice guy and I certainly would've preferred him over Vaan.
Because otherwise it makes the writing in VII even more evidently flawed. Squall being dead and Rinoa being Ultimecia makes it sound 2deep4u and like it was actually well planned all along.
Either that or we're being memed on.
I honestly likes the story in VIII, convoluted as it was. That being said, I still think the orphanage bit was dumb.
I'm surprised it took this long for someone to get mad at it
I just did it for extra (you)s
>Because otherwise it makes the writing in VII
You mean VIII right? because VII has nothing to do with that
Yes. I meant VIII.
FF II has so many characters die there's a post game section of them escaping hell.
the orphanage in itself was fine, they just should have made it that the orphanage was specifically set up to make obedient child soldiers for the Garden.
But that's kind of what it was? At first it was just an ordinary orphanage, but they relocated with all the orphans to Balamb and turned them into child soldiers.
...
When does gordon die? Scott does but gordon just becomes king of Fynn.
Raqia was heaven
Somehow
Oh right, I got them mixed up
My bad
But user, he dies anyway in that novel!
And is immediately revived in exchange of Yuna's feelings for him
How many of you will shit yourselves when you realize you can avoid her death in the remake?
