It was a damn good game. I emulated it again years later, just recently and my god do the 'physics' piss me off. You just feel so clunky. I wish I could be more nimble.

There are a few parts of Red Faction 1 where you can get in a mining vehicle and drill through nearby rock for a while. It's pointless, though, and doesn't happen very often.
