other games are better
thats really it
If you're not a millennial and you're browsing Sup Forums, then you should have bigger worries than what the generation after thinks of a shitty game
>If you're not a millennial and you're browsing Sup Forums, then you should have bigger worries
Nice try, Jr.
indie shit tends to be carefully curated experiences that tell a story
in other words, """""games"""""
everyone is sick of open world shit, especially procedurally generated shit.
>being over 35
>browsing a Korean cabbage packing farm
And why is that autists on Sup Forums have incredible shittaste yet make OPs like they don't?
What are you implying?
I am implying that OP is a faggot with bad taste in videogames
Easily influenced bandwagon hoppers.
>my fav jewtuber dont like game
>I also do not like game, man it's great to be a free thinker!.
It was just a shitty game though desu.
Because shit like ftl is actually good.
No, you're implying that No Mans' Sky is or isn't a bad game. I need answers, user.
And Braid, Limbo, Minecraft, 7 Days to Die, Fez, Undertale, Stardew Valley and many many more indie games that have LOWER price and BIGGER value (both for gaming culture and price-value terms)
>you're implying that No Mans' Sky is or isn't a bad game
stop putting words in my mouth
all I'm saying is that OP probably has shittaste but acts like he knows what he's talking about
Because No Man's Sky just isnt that good of a game.
It's an indie game pretending to be a triple A game that blew out hype to massive levels and didn't even have bare-bones versions of various features that were promised.
>Explore a vast universe literally on your own
>All the shit is the same with different colour palettes and animal generation follows an algorithm that produces some very fucked up results
>Nothing actually exciting about it
>Got hyped to be one of the best games of the generation
>Full AAA price tag
Can't think of many decent reasons for indie games as the only one I've played is KSP but I can gaurantee most don't just promise loads of shit and laugh while the money rolls in
because no mans sky is only nominally an indie game, whereas actual independent devs make the only worthwhile games today.
The marketing hype failed nms..
Imagine noone would have known of it or just as a side note..
Critics would have been way better.
But the audience this game was marketed at, wanted more
The only thing that isn't indie about it is the price and marketing campaign. The team is a fraction of the size of a typical AAA team, budget is basically non-existent - financed on credit cards and minimal proceeds from Joe Danger games, they have no QA department due to lack of staff/funds, they have no PR staff - the lead programmer does all their PR (somewhat badly). How the fuck is it not indie?
Those other indie "shit" are actually wonderful games.
Better than your pedo weebshit and garbage shooters/RPGs.
>Those other indie "shit"
fez
shovelware knight
braid
bastion
revolution 60
>wonderful
what about games like Shinobi, Sonic, Mega (Super) Turrican, Excitebike 64, Outrun 2, Panzer Dragoon? why there is no more games like those?
Literally this. Reviewers would've come to a different conclusion if there wasn't a huge hatred for the game on the internet.
>Bastion
>Shovel Knight
>bad
b8
>could it be that I have shit taste?
>no! it's everyone else who is wrong!
I don't understand why 'gamers' feel the need to react so violently against big marketing campaigns. Same shit happened with Watch Dogs, which is not a fantastic game, but it's pretty alright, and does a few things better than GTAV, yet everyone acted like it was swine flu or something, in reaction to the marketing campaign. Same again with Fallout 4, which has obvious flaws, but is pretty alright. You can always predict the severity of backlash from how much money is put into marketing. Is it edgy contrarianism or something? Signalling to others how totally not swayed you are by slick marketing campaigns?

>millennials are one type of person
Yeah sure stopped them from rating DMC:DMC or ME 3 highly huh? Fuck off retard.
I think it's worse than that, I think it's people who WERE convinced by marketing that it'd be something better and they're upset.
This is their Spore moment, let them be angry.
>thinking Mongolian throat singing newsgroups have an age limit
>Signalling to others how totally not swayed you are by slick marketing campaigns?
I think there's a truth in this.
It only happens to games with a big marketing campaign backing them. I think people just want to show they are not swayed by it anymore. The bigger the PR lies (see Fallout 4 as well), the more people resist the game.
Add the Reddit bandwagon copying popular opinion from other places of the internet, and you get the internet celebs follow suit: they don't want to look like shills.
ME3 was years ago and people still sucked up marketing then. Same with the new DMC, and less people were excited for that.
Ah, fair enough. Hadn't even realised people might be viewing the marketing uncritically.
What about games actually invest money in developing the game instead of delivering half assed shit while spending millions on marketing you fucking retard?
I'm sure you know better than major publishers who have whole research arms tasked with working out the balance between marketing and development for optimal game sales
Yes I do as proved by tortanic,NMS, watch dogs and these are just 3 major example, soon to follow star citizen.
You see, why faggots like you are the bane of logic and gaming.
Watch Doges was AN OK game. Mediocre by every standard but FUN for at least 1 playtrough.
I got hyped for it... When the game came out, it was a massive DOWNGRADE from what was shown, in both gameplay mechanics and quality and in visuals.
BUT- The core of the game - hacking and making use of ur tools to create interesting and smart opportunities - ARE IN THE GAME AS PROMISED. Hell, people description in Watch Doges have more variations then "Proceduraly Generated" Pile of Lies.
On the other hand, u fucking cuck, NMS has 3 things out of everything promised.
You can learn language, you can mine, and there is a shit ton of planets.
There is nothing to explore, everything is faked ( Sean even dared call out other games on faking skyboxes, and then HE DID THE SAME THING)
So please before u spray ur internet diarrhea everywhere, google some facts u punk ass nigger bitch.
Probably the price tag.
Probably had some retardedly inflated expectations for a game that uses soulless procedural generation to spawn the game worlds, too.
Watch dogs was a broken game with loads of issues outside of the basic features of the game and that's why it was shat on not much for the gameplay itself which still was quite retarded (press X to finish the game).
I think indieshit is being pushed by the 30+ year old jaded faggots who think a 3 hour long walking sim is acceptable because that's all the time they have left after working their shit job and taking care of their ugly children
>everyone is sick of open world shit, especially procedurally generated shit.
Clearly they aren't otherwise NMS wouldn't have raised so much hype. And Skyrim wouldn't be getting a needless remake.
>millennials
>indie shit
Thank you for perpetuating idiocy today. Here is your (you)s
Watch Dogs was an awful game, if it was just a mediocre GTA clone I might've got some enjoyment out of it.
Are you over the age of 30 or something? Fuck off cunt.
It's shit to everyone of any age
I disliked the plot and the main character was about as dislikable as it gets, but the mechanics were solid. I had far more fun running from the police in Watch Dogs than I ever did in any GTA game. Convoys and other world events were great, unlike GTA's world where there is literally nothing to do outside story quests.
why are old people so desperate to hate everyone else lol
is it because they have no other way of feeling good about themselves
>my father called our generation millenials. I guess the next generation is called millenials aswell
cos they are getting closer and closer to death senpai
>I am literally incapable of comprehending the fact that people out there may dislike No Mans Sky
People didn't just all of a sudden "hate" the game.
Anyone who wasn't a gullible moron blinded by stupid hype knew that a company that made nothing but Trials knockoffs wouldn't be able to deliver 18 quintillion completely unique planets.
I didn't fall for the scam and in return I saved $60, however unfortunate window lickers such as yourself bought into it and got a mediocre dumbed down minecraft.
There wasn't even a description for what you do in the game, Sean Murray didn't want to admit it's a shallow as fuck snorefest with nothing to do so in classic Sean Murray fashion he completely dodged the question.
How the fuck can you spend $60 for an indie game?
How the fuck can you still buy this shit after the director lied constantly?
You are basically sucking Seans dick right now, you enjoy guzzling his white love juice.
And not only that, but you are shilling this piece of crap, FOR FREE!
You are beyond pathetic.
You are a corporate slave and you love sucking dev's dicks while they whisper sweet little lies into your ears.
Not him but i felt Bastion to be pretty shit. The game was full of itself and the gameplay wasnt that good.
People like it because of the way it presents itself and imo thats dumb
misleading and almost downright lying to people is generally looked down upon
I just can't get any enjoyment whatsoever out of Ubisoft sandboxes, the only thing I did have fun with were those cyberdrug minigames
Yea man, it's millennials and not post-millenials that watch everything on youtube :^)
They liked it because of the narrator and the soundtrack. It was also very polished for an 'indie' game back then
Oh fuck, I jumped the gun there.
But still, people don't just think this game is bad because youtubers said so.
>tfw I live in New Zealand and my niece has a West coast American accent from watching vloggers
Someone drastic has to be done with American media
>price tag?
that's part of it
it's a 10-20 dollar indie game sold as a 60 dollar AAA game
If it had a comfy soundtrack people would like it more
What? The soundtrack is literally the only good thing about the game.
Probably because 75% of the budgets for these AAA games are dedicated to advertising. All it tells me is that they had $100 million to spend and decided that only a quarter of that was worth spending on the actual game itself, you know, the actual product.
Anyone has a video Sean acting like a fucking cuck when asked "Why are you showing us the same planet again?"
And he was like "Um-uh oh... it just loos nice"
youtube.com
Fucking win
"Its not like we made the level for this- ITS ALL PROCEDURALY GENERATED"
Fucking liar
Because they compare what they know as good with what is current and it's the furthest thing possible from what they know good to be.
oh my fuck
Its not AS bad as in OPs pic but the colors are right
god damn this thing crashed hard
>you get the internet celebs follow suit: they don't want to look like shills.
Good post, everyone's trying to avoid looking like shills, so they overcompensate. Puts people that actually enjoyed a heavily marketed game in a weird place, because they can't talk about it without looking like they've succumbed to the marketing.
Removing jews usually does the trick, but no chance that's gonna happen when they completely own the place.
Because sites like that publish a vote based on a overall steam review score if half of the reviews are bad then the game will get a 5/10, if only a quarter are bad it's going to be a 7.5/10 and so on.
Just a way to reel in the most people as possible.
Apparently the planets they used in the trailer arent ones you're ever taken to by any of the preset courses, and require better warp drives which actually take some time and a little effort to find
Which is kinda retarded because that means if you do what the game tells you you'll never see anything as cool as what you see in the trailer
i didnt buy it because of the lies but its pretty cool, i wanted a game like this a long time ago before this was ever shown from messing around in space engine, and i didnt ever expect any more than what they showed
also people gotta realize this
>millennials
Technically, millennials are in their 20's-30's now:
en.wikipedia.org
Stick to underage if you want to emphasize young age, you retarded mother fuckers.
If it was a $20 early access game, everyone would still be sucking Sean's cock.
Every Man's Bait
7/10
>tfw I live in New Zealand
You have my condolances
testing
>end years are mid-90s to early 00s
if you were born in 98 and pretty much just become 18+ are you a milllenial? Seems around here it gets kinda debatable
>condolances
Hmmm?
