So, untill now I've always been a console peasant and I want to make the big step and go in the superior world of pc gaming. I've made a configurations, but actually i know almost nothing about pc configuration So I wanted to ask you some opinions.
You don't really NEED an SSD, but it's recommended to use one as an OS drive and supplement it with a HDD for game installs.
A good SSD is the Samsung 850 EVO MZ-75E250B/AM.
Dylan James
Samsung or Intel are your best bets. Samsung 850 is usually recommended because it's the oldest drive to still take full advantage of SATA III speeds, making it one of the cheaper ones to do so.

Get an i5 6600K, also you're gonna need a socket 1151 mobo, not a 1150 one.
Jordan Cook
>1150 socket motherboard you need a 1151 one >980TI just get a 1070, same price but better >i5-6500 get an unlocked 6600k for overclocking >ram at 2133 mhz i'd get at least 3200 if i were you >Cooler Master Hyper TX3Evo that's really on the cheap side, i'd spend 50 bux extra and get a top tier high end cooler that will also work for future builds (noctua nh-d15s is god tier)
you probably won't need a 600w psu if you go with a 1070 either, most of the time 450w is enough. just check your total need.
and windows 10 is shit
once you've had one you will NEVER want to go back. samsung 850 evo is a safe bet. you want at least 250 gb

Op here, thank you all for your suggestion and for showing me that i had the wrong mother board. About the case, I'm thinking about the "Thermaltake MS-I Case Mini-Tower", but I think that maybe you could suggest me something better.
Dominic Flores
mostly depends on what cpu cooler and graphics card you'll get. make sure that stuff actually fits in the case. for cases you don't really have to go with the expensive stuff, even most budget cases around 60 dollars are good.
if you haven't done so yet, you can put together a build on pcpartpicker.com it's got a compatibility filter that'll only let you pick you the right things (even though they're overly careful, and sometimes cases are shown as incompatible even though they're big enough)
Nolan Harris
I have a build i'm working on too. pcpartpicker.com/list/Gry68K How is it? I already have the 1060 and i'm about ready to order the rest of my parts. I keep worrying about what mobo to get since I know that it's the most crucially important part and i'm never sure if i'm getting the perfect one to compliment the rest of my build.
James Smith
Cpu - i5 6600k Gpu - whatever is High Q and low price... minimum 4G Vram Ram - 16Gb with 2666Mhz or more Skylake motherboards MSI preferably (from my expirience) Good cooling - 4 case fans - coolermaster for cpu with good thermal paste Get a HDD, wait till FEB for SSD with better speeds and more memory for the same price as now. Stay away from win10 for now. Get 7 Pro. If you going win10 then try and find enterprise. Also PSU 700 watt. Do not listen to people who say that you need less as you will probably need more power in the end.
And remember an anti static mat/wrist band when you put it together if you have carpets at home.
Anthony Wright
If you're unable to build your own PC, would it be okay to just buy it from a place that allows you to pick the parts and puts them together for you?
Tyler Gutierrez
Use pcpartpicker to make your build and yeah, you can bring them somewhere and have them assemble it for you. However i'd say you should at least watch them so you have an idea of what to do.
Mason Rogers
Yeah if its not anywhere in eastern europe. Here they tend to tell you they put in a new part that you payed for but they actually put a used part that is under warranty for a shorter period of time. Also be careful if you buy like that cause you never know what kind of twit will put it together. Its pretty easy to make your own rig, all you need is: youtube.com/watch?v=0bUghCx9iso and an anti static mat/wristband
if you are paying $1000 for a pc, do you really want to wait 5 min to start it up/shut it down, open/close applications etc., or 15 sec?
Xavier Perez
Not OP, but I'm upgrading for the first time in a few years. This any good?
Xavier Morgan
bump
Anthony Ward
I have that motherboard and its worked well for me so far. should probably get the 6600k if you have the money, as it can be overclocked and cpu improvements are going at a fairly slow pace so it will still be a good cpu in like 5 years
I used the partpicker for the most part so there shouldn't be any issue for compatibility (I think).
Lucas Myers
>just built a new pc, have the usual "new build anxiety" where every little issue makes me think something is majorly wrong >hear loud rattling when I first turn it on, freaked out >seems like it's coming from my PSU >"PSU IS FUCKED OH SHIT" >tiny piece of plastic was in the PSU fan >hear some obnoxious buzzing later >"oh fuck not again" >find out that the fractal r5's lower dust filter is vibrating, causing the noise >Nvidia's new driver re-introduced an issue with the GTX 1080 where graphical glitches appear at startup if my monitor's refresh rate is set to 144hz or higher Jesus, it's one dumb thing after another.
Noah Howard
>pcpartpicker.com/list/XJXTJV pretty much my build. Good and will play doom, overwatch, witcher 3 smooth as butter. But not on 1440p. To add get 16G ram. Future proof it. get an MSI mother board not asus never asus and some case fans if you gonna over clock get a better cooler
Justin Russell
Skyjew processors don't come with a CPU cooler.
Noah Rodriguez
Dump the 970 it has 3.5 gb vram
The rx 480 is better than it and has 8gb vram around the same price. The 970 also doesn't have any dx12/vulkan capabilities.
It is also legacy and nvidia will be dropping support.
Jack Cooper
Don't get the 970 or 960, they're shit cards and are only getting shittier. Get a 1060, 1070 or 480, any of those are way better choices.
Easton Wilson
not that guy but im a 960 for free from a friend who upgraded, i have a 660, thats cool right?
Ethan Harris
Good choice in cooler. My HP EVO 212 works great.
Sebastian Barnes
thats right bro. anything below 480 is unacceptable.
