Revision or not?
Revision or not?
Other urls found in this thread:
nah, doesn't need it
i think the problems add to the experience, a revision would most likely have modern fps style combat, characters like denton and jock voiced by some celebrity and a hans zimmer soundtrack or something. might be cool but that's not what i look for when i play my do sex.
fuck off
GMDX or Revision?
good point
GMDX
Never played gmdx, what are the differences between it and revision?
GMDX
GMDX, Revision just fucks shit up
Question, is there anything that just rebalances the augs/skills, and maybe adds a few new weapons, not totally revamps the game?
The stealth fucking sucks dick. Would be cool if they fixed that.
They did in GMDX
The GEP gun might be useful.
GMDX
My issue with GMDX is that in the attempt to improve the AI, liberty island is already much more difficult to be honest. Do a little noise and everyone in the whole island is trying to murder you.
It's not hard, all you have to do is to git gud, pretty simple pal
I don't think I'll ever play vanilla anymore after Revision
I'm trying the PS2 version currently, but that's if
It's a pain in the ass at first if you already played vanilla, because they moved the position of everything
But it's the best experience you can get from the game if you never tried it before
It's not best, GMDX is better, smaller changes to maps to accomodate rebalanced, some new secrets and patched details like Shlick giving you aug container later in the game like he was supposed to. Revision just makes everything smaller so that most PCs don't grind to halt while trying to run their epix graphix on old engine.
>everything smaller
You should try it before talking about it user
>swimming gone
I LIKE THAT MOD
If you're playing for the first time, install nothing other than maybe a high-res mod. This is one of the all-time classics. Experience it as it was meant to be. Anything that "rebalances the game" is effectively fanfiction for mechanics (even though it is true that the game has balance problems).
If you have already beaten the game in its default sate once, then go nuts. Feel free to install whatever and experiment.
I couldn't handle revision. It reminded me of that hl2 cinematic mod
So what does GMDX and Revision do?
From what i heard Revision messes with visuals while GMDX does something with gameplay?
Played some biotic mod or something like that, with revamped augs but didn't try any other mods, GMDX good?
They both mess with the gameplay.
I know the nameless mod is kinda redundant on the in-jokes but I liked it quite a bit. The music was cool.
Revision touches everything, GMDX just touches gameplay and mostly AI.
GMDX does a bunch of little changes to the RPG system, AI, and improvements to the map.
Frankly I consider it the best version of the game. It's just smartly made.
All right, thanks. I'll try out GMDX.
Did it buff assault rifles or anything but a pistol? Wanna try something new out. Every time i played vanilla i ended up doing pistol or prod until finding dragon tooth, then it's just melee and all the LAMs i stockpiled for traps. Hard to resist, too good.
Might resist picking up dragon's tooth but would like something other than a pistol for a main weapon.

They should revise the whole thing.
They could get so much more out of the story with today's possibilities.
don't bother applying high-res textures to low-poly models, it just looks fucked up and is really offputting on the whole.
install biomod and have the game balanced so that there are real choices between aug canisters, while also restoring some sections of cut content, like conversations, sidequests, rewards, and other little things.
maybe get deusexe if you can get it working, but installing it only broke my game so i didn't bother. works for most other people though.
Please no
Have you even played Revision? Every level is BIGGER. There's an entirely new apartment complex in Hell's Kitchen, for example.
Revision is a level modification, adding a few new areas and altering old ones. It definitely shouldn't be used on a first playthrough, it's something you play after getting familiar with vanilla enough to desire a fresh experience.
For a first playthrough you should only ever use Kentie's launcher, IMO. Some people may recommend Shifter or Biomod, but I think you need to go through the game vanilla at least once to really appreciate those mods.
Revision is like George Lucas' edits in the old trilogy.
