>I took a degree in game design
Why?
Why didn't you just study code and design your own game coming out of high school at age 18 like pic related?
Go out there are start your dream user, no need for a degree like that!
I took a degree in game design
She is not real
Does it matter what others do? You do you and they will do them.
Presumably because you don't care about actually making games, and just want to study their design from a more structured perspective at least, if what my friend is doing is any indication
That's okay, user.
You are either a game dev at heart, or you aren't. Going to school just proves you aren't
Some people really believe they can get rich being 'an ideas guy.'
Some people just want to do a fun course for their own entertainment.
Some people start a programming degree, realise they don't have the brainpower or work ethic to handle it, and switch to something even a turtle on acid could do.
Hypothetically, could I intentionally get a worthless degree and bullshit my way into a high paying job?
>wanting to work in an industry that people will never take seriously
>I posted the same thread yet again
Why?
Why didn't you just talk about video games?
Get out and stop posting such stupid shit OP, no need for shitposting like this!
I studied traditional software dev even though my heart is in vidya dev. at least I'll have a stable income instead of hoping my game will succeed
Yes.
You could bullshit your way into a high paying job even without a degree.
Either way, you'd need to be skilled at bullshitting, and somewhat skilled at whatever sort of work you're trying to bullshit your way into.
You've MADE THIS SAME THREAD MULTIPLE TIMES YOU SHITTER
fuck off faggot and put your name on so i can filter you
>mfw there are people who watch this who thinks this is is even remotely how the industry works
I got a good degree and failed my way into a low paying job, so I don't see why not.
What name?
Of course I don't. But it's so fun and entertaining and cute to watch.
To be fair she is written by a guy that used to work in games development over in Japan. And at smaller Japanese game companies it is not unusual for them to hire out of highschool and train on the job. This is usually only the art team, however. Aoba fits this fairly well, if highly idealized and fantastical.
All she really had to do was put together a portfolio and her high school art courses, combined with personal interest, should have built that up.
This is not, however, how big companies in Japan, or most places, hire. Odds are the company she is working for is either small scale or exaggerated for the fantasy of it. Their set up looks too nice for the type of company that usually would hire out of highschool.
Aoba is wife material
Well im going to fail at life anyway, may as well take the long route and prolong the depressing realization for a few years by studying at uni.
Bump
>Why didn't you just study code and design your own game coming out of high school at age 18 like pic related?
"Pic related" only knew how to draw, had no experience or any other skills, and got accepted into a successful big game company right out of high school.
Good luck with all of this IRL
She also isn't making "her own game".
Design and coding are 2 totally different things.
Isn't she just an artist/3d modeler?
Yeah.
She's a gifted artist. Aoba was born with talent, how lucky.
