Which is more practical, using the Punisher until the last of the shield monks are gone (half-way through the castle, I think?) and then getting the Red9, or is it better to just sell the free Punisher and get the Red9 straight away? I'm pretty sure the Red9 doesn't get properly powerful until around half-way through the castle anyway.

the punisher is the only pistol you will need, later in the game you're not going to use it nearly as much as the shotgun and rifle. the red9 and the blacktail are for pussies who don't know how to conserve shotgun ammo and get surrounded constantly.

I'm less fussed about that and more about the most optimal run. For autistic reasons.
The Punisher suffers the most out of all the handguns in the late game, doesn't it? Since there are almost no shields at that point.

it's actually the most useful handgun because the exclusive upgrade lets you shoot through 5 enemies at a time, so you don't really have to kill anyone if you're fast enough to get away while they're stunned. all of the bosses on the island will shrug off handgun rounds and there are still a good amount of shield enemies, i would say there are probably 15 or 20.

it appears captcha accidentally swallowed your image of the mine thrower and shit out some random pistol.

dont worry i got your back.

>exclusive upgrade lets you shoot through 5 enemies at a time
Sounds extremely situational.

Was there some issues regarding ammo with that?

then you haven't played past the village, because in the later levels the rooms have a minimum of 10 enemies at a time.

>not knife only run

THIS GROUND ISNT HARD ENOUGH

I WISH MORE OF MY BONES WERE BROKEN

Well the handgun is only really good for mob-tier enemies like Ganados anyway, so you'll probably be using it on mobs.

>tfw clearing REmake doing the knife and no-save run all in one
Fucking intense shit, man.

>tallest

none that i had at least on the wii version.

That's not the knife.

Dual wield these in Max Payne and everything is Swiss cheese

Isn't that the second gun from Daikatana?

This gun was so satisfying.

I've never used this weapon. Mostly because everyone said it was terrible. Like, the TMP has people who'll defend it, but I've never seen a case for the Mine Thrower.
Is it actually that bad?

But why is the red9 the one actually equipped in that pic o__o

that and the TMP are weapons to buy if you've run out of ammo and you don't have any more upgrades at that merchant. although if it's your first time playing you should get the minethrower before the castle because it makes the water room and the salazar fight much easier.

I'm going loco in the coco!

...

Thats not the flamethrower.

Best handgun? Sure
Best weapon? Fuck no, the PRL-412 is objectively the best gun in the game

>set someone on fire
>they run into you
>get flamed
>die after a minute
>turn it into a gamemode

cant wait for timesplitters rewind

Nothing felt cooler than going into the next room, hearing bad guys and then taking out the revolver and reloading it and hearing every bullet go in the chamber.

Plus most OP weapon after fully upgraded.

classic assault brick

Two shots, one gunship.

That's not the broken butterfly.

>Kicking Dr. Salvador around and slamming doors into his face

>timesplitters rewind

never ever.

Joking aside as much as I want timesplitters rewin to be awesome having recently played timesplitters 2 after many years (and swearing that all my skills have turned to shit) I really doubt it will give the experience people hope for.

its still the closest thing we have to timesplitters online play, but theres probably other ways to play online with a few people

Arma2

How does that stock even help?

Do you rest your left hand on the wood when you look down the iron sights?

nope, sorry.

On my first playthrough of Parasite Eve 2 I rationalized to myself that the starting gun, a Beretta 93R was my best option for like, three quarters of the game because I had a higher crit. chance and that 17-20 damage x 3 was a better trade off than a gun that had a higher base damage, but only hit once.

Against the shoulder, like you would with a rifle.

every single image is wrong
except this one

>Tfw no VZ58/VZ2008's ever because everyone thinks they're AK's
:(

Not bad for a humble .38, that's for sure.

Wait what?
With a rifle you put your left hand on whatever grip near the end of the gun for stability.

With OP's pic you clearly cant.
What do you mean you put your left hand on your shoulder?

...

Isn't this a bad game though?

The beauty of a simple gun like this is underappreciated by the vidya community.

You use it like this.

Against your fucking shoulder you dense twat

What the fuck are you trying to say

U wot m8s?

Ammo is only and issue if you carry it with a handgun and a shotgun like a dummy. They have common ammo types and will fuck up your chances of getting mine darts.

The TMP is easily better than any of the handguns.

Monkey gun isn't in timesplitters 2, only timesplitters 3. The original picture that started this conversation was named timesplitters 2.

tl;dr no u

Starting Handgun is what most people say is the most optimal, since the 5x crit chance for a headshot is bretty good.

Personally I used the Red9 because muh damage, and I didn't really use the other guns since Red9 dropped most enemies.

>Vekoma
>ever

Debatable.

If you go in expecting Resident Evil 4 with a dash of horror elements that might make you jump and awesome design with the fucked up looking monsters, it is awesome.

Go in expecting the "BRINGS SURVIVAL HORROR BACK TO LIFE" hype that it got then yes it is poor at that. Not survival horror at all, really.

Still really fun, imo.

My preferred RE4 loadout is the infinite typewriter, broken butterfly, lots of magnum ammo, and first aid sprays.

Fond memories of camping with a suppressor and thermal scope.

Ah, the good old days.

You going need guns to get past of castle, because boss battle. It's pretty much impossible to do a complete pure knife run on RE4. Unless you use ditchman to skip.

Only based on its ability to rape

That's not the blacktail

the TMP has terrible damage, even the standard silver handgun is better than the TMP. you shouldn't need an automatic weapon in this game, they only put it in for people who couldn't properly conserve handgun ammo. it's only saving grace is that it is a very good replacement for the shotgun if you want to increase inventory space.

I miss them too user. Scar is wonderful, not like fishgun or OICW.

Besides the AK I always like battle rifles.

If you are measuring by firepower instead of DPS like a retard, sure.

This thing was shit in New Vegas
Green box, on the other hand, ripped shit up like a food processor loaded with feces.

sniping with this bad boy

Hasn't been the same since the first game.

Nope, sorry.

>Thread is almost exclusively about guns
Why is that?

no, you continue to use both hands to grip the handle like you would a regular pistol. the stock just gives you the bonus of steadier aim. it's beautiful german engineering.

Guns are fun

>Capcom Sale
>All games except RE4

FUck steam mang ;(

for people with small dicks maybe

reminds me of onimusha

Nice meme

The guns don't have to be big.

Why is the P90 so fucking overpowered in every game its in

that's the noob gun, if you like it then you can't aim for shit. it doesn't have enough damage to compete in a lobby full of good players using the FAMAS or the M16.

the point is you only need one bullet at a time, because there are not one but two stun spots on an enemy body. so an automatic weapon is useless if you're going to use it either way, traditionally or with single shots.

Never really understood this joke, firearms are just interesting and fun to shoot.

Because it also is IRL. Tons of rounds of a cartridge that has a shitload of stopping power for how small the bullet is.

It's just a meme.

>payday 2 release
>double barrel enforcer build
>unstoppable long range death

Yes, and its ammo is relatively easy to come by. You get more ammo in a drop for the TMP than one for a handgun, and a single shot knocks enemies off ledges, detonates explosive barrels, deflects thrown weapons, kills type C Plagas and sets enemies up for melee attacks all the same.
It's more economical and versatile than any handgun or shotgun; it does most things better than them and only a few things worse (Striker is better for crowd control; Leon's Handgun with its exclusive upgrade is better at handling single Ganados.) Its DPS disintegrates tanky enemies like Dr. Salvador and bosses. It aims quickly, making it better suited for dealing with fast enemies like Colmillos.

if you're going to shoot one shot at a time then obviously you want the gun that's going to do some real damage, so it takes fewer knife swipes to kill them after the roundhouse kick. this is very basic RE4 info, jump off a bridge.

This could trigger another good question. What guns have the best reload animations? Id still stick with the farsight. loved the cyclone reload too though

...

ah feels good. I really think they botched the weapon designs when they remade perfect dark for xbox live. new cyclone looked like garbage

I always called them the grasshopper guns. Because they kinda look like grasshoppers.

I freakin love this game. first time a game really felt violent in a believable way. not like doom and quake and all that stuff

I cant wait untill bullet mags are swiped like atm cards
