>Consoles are just as power as PCs
>he thinks gaming is an expensive hobby
get a job
>buy $600 console
>buy games for it
>pay for online
>it's obsolete in 3 years
>buy $600 pc
>incredibly vast library to emulate
>can pirate new releases
>don't have to pay twice for online
>don't have to buy an entire new pc to play next gen games
It really isn't. PC gamers pay a premium for the opportunity to play with custom graphics settings and framerates.
It's like rich people buying expensive sports cars despite a $2000 preused clunker being perfectly viable for transit.
>buy $600 pc
>it's a pile of trash
>still no peripherals
>obsolete/shitty/refurbished parts
>break down within in a year
smart move
this is only the case when you're actually smart about it and can enjoy a variety of videogame genres
console: 70 dollar per game pc : 40 dollar per game sometimes even less
>console
>overpriced, underpowered machine with limited games
>30fps, no mods
>overpriced games
>subscription fees
>PC
>powerful, versatile and customizable
>has the most games out of any platform
>amazing sales constantly (or don't pay for games at all)
>60fps, better resolution, fixes and mods are available
>emulation
>any controller can be used
>can be used for other things besides videogames
>can be upgraded whenever
>is cheaper than consoles in the long run
Oh gee which one should I get? What a difficult decision right?
It really is. I need a PC for my work and I pirate games so I spend literally no money on games.
Check mate console plebs
I'm not arguing that consoles are overall better than PCs.
But saying that they're cheaper is a lie. Affordability is one of the few dwindling advantages consoles have over PCs today.
>buy $500 dollar console
>then buy 60 dollar games
>buy $1500 dollar pc
>buy a bajillion games and all their dlc for $5-10 during a steam sale
you do the math fucko
do all these consolefags literally not have a computer of any kind? because I'm pretty sure the price difference between a shit non-gaming computer and one that players games decently is less than a console
Except games only go down in price when theyre used or very very slowly after release and you pay for your online, this not making it at all cheaper in the long run.
>consoleniggers pay $60 a year to play online
>they will defend this
Don't forget the need to buy the new hot console every few years. A PC with a rather pricey investment of $1500 will last you for a really long time without the need to replace parts and still be able to play games at max settings.
Most people have a $400 console and a $400 laptop. And personally, I'd still be about $400-$600 short on a build I would I would be okay with. Ive never told anyone building a gaming PC under $1000 is OK.
>buying consoles is cheaper
No shit, they're of lower quality too.
i just checked and XBOX Live Gold´s like 20 for 3 months making like 7 a month. who the fuck cant afford this? im definetly getting an memebox next¨
60 in a year is nothing. just look at the WoW players.
If we're pretending everyone is buying the best console then let's say everyone in PC gaming is buying the newest and best GPU that comes out EVERY FUCKING YEAR
B-B-B-BUT T-T-T-THAT D-D-DOESNT C-C-COUNT, I-I-I-T IS NOT T-T-T-HE S-S-S-SAME THING
It only saves money if you're a criminal and steal all your games.
>implying anyone plays still WoW
>implying comparing a single game is a valid comparison
PC gaming is shit baka desu senpai
Games costs a shitton. You can pirate everything and pay only for selected titles for online. You can assemble average pc pretty cheap, sometimes free (if you have spare parts, or if you work in IT and have access to parts no one cares about, if you know what I mean), and it will perform better than console and have much larger library at the cost of couple missing exclusives. If something breaks and you have 2 brain cells and 2 hours to spare you can perform diagnostics yourself and change 1 cheap broken part instead of buying new system. Basically, yes, it saves a whole lot of money in the long run, or immediately if you aren't going for useless overpriced $3000+ beast pc. You 1st world rich sissy faggots will be suprised how well you can actually run newest games on older hardware which costs next to nothing.
>horror sections in a non-horror game
I fucking hate this so much you guys have no idea how much I hate this
I literally get triggered out of anger and fear because I'm a fucking pussy
>500€ pc
>have to do +100tweaks to the settings of each game for it to run smoothly
>sometimes it doesn't even matter and still fucks up in graphics or framerate
>special offender: emulators
>300€ console
>put game in, enjoy instantly, no need to touch nothing
Being toaster owner is suffering
Even more when it was a 500 euros toaster
Buying a new console is necessary if you want to keep up with new games that aren't going to come out with the predecessor to a new one once it comes out. A PC doesn't have that restriction, thus why I mentioned the investment thing. The only thing new hardware gets you (especially if you were to buy it every year like an idiot) is being able to keep up with setting modern games to max settings. But that's much more of a luxury than it is to simply want to play new games, even if it means having to lower the graphical settings on them. If the game is properly optimized, though, not even that is a problem (although, admittedly, very few games nowadays are properly optimized).
I'm still playing modern games with this $700 PC that I bought back in 2012, and I don't see myself replacing anything on it yet. On the other hand, I also have a 3DS that I bought around the same time and that I know will be outdated once the NX comes out, and I'll have to buy it if I want the new games.
Also, console games in general seem to never go down much in price. That's also something you need to very much consider, because you buy a console for the purpose of playing games, and if you get a console just to get one or two games, you are definitely wasting it away. On the other hand, a PC serves you for many other things than gaming, things that even the high-end hardware that you got for gaming can be useful for, like editing and rendering videos and what have you.
Did you forget to take your medicine, user? You are stuttering in written form. That's worrying.
If you want you can spend lots ("lots" being like 2 grand) and have a pc that will last for the next 5-10 years with 1 or 2 upgrades, or you can spend like $500 and get one that will still be decent for the next 2-5 years depending on what kind of deals you got or how many pieces you already had (most people I know have a monitor or two, and a keyboard/mouse kicking around).
If you want to get a console you're going to be paying $300-$500 for something that's mediocre upon release and then 2-3 years later you have to buy another one. Getting a new videocard, overclocking, upgrading ram, etc, etc is not even a viable option.
I didnt include the cost of extra controllers/peripherals, games, subscriptions, ingame currency, etc, etc on purpose, they're too subjective and it would get too complicated, but I think they're fairly even for both,
this. pcfats trying so hard to push the meme pcs are cheaper in the long run that they pretend a 500 or 600 dollars pc is worth shit.
if you're not spending at least 800-900 bucks you're better off buying a console or saving to build the pc at a later date
those '500 dollar console killer pc' videos on youtube make me laugh
>use PC as a television, console (gamepad), internet access device, work station, and pc gaming station.
>console faggots spend $800 on a console and an additional $80 per game played; invest in a television set to play their shitty games; invest in an additional PC to shitpost on Sup Forums and jerk off to girls that friendzoned them on facebook
hello australia
>invest in a television set to play their shitty games; invest in an additional PC
>invest
literally everyone's got a tv and at least a laptop at home. that's like saying you need to invest in forks, knives and spoons if you want to eat. nice try pcfat
>spending a grand or more on buying latest newest hottest parts which are basically rebrands of old ones most of the time
You are just paying the jews, goyim. That's not how you save money.
Shut up!!!! Consoles are comfy!!!!
Consoles*
Console - $400
Games - $10-60
If you buy 1 indie & 0,5 AAA game per month, for 3 years:
400 + 10*36 + 60*18 = 400 + 360 + 1080 = $1840
*At the moment, at a time you could get a ps3/xb360 for ~150 while it was still the main console
PC:
i5/1060 pc - $900 - $300 for PC you already have
Games - $1-$55
If you buy 1 indie & 0,5 AAA game per month, for 3 years:
600 + 3*36 + 55*18 = 600 + 108 + 990 = $1698
As you can see from these fact the pc pays for itself if you buy a rather high amount of games.

Is this build any good?
I'm the most worried about the mobo since I know it's super crucial to get the right one.
Oh like a cuck who has to pay for their internet twice to play online knows anything about saving money.
>can choose to pay more for better performance
I don't see any issue.
+$180 for the online...
yea but it's not OBVIOUS!!! it has to be all at once for me to realize how much money I'm spending Lol.
>-300 for pc you already have
Top kek you fucking retard a new intel processor requires you to upgrade to ddr4, so you are essentially buying a new everything except graphics card and case.
How much do you get for used games at gamestop?
how much cheaper are pc games at average?
we're comparing cost of entry, retard. to play your console you need a TV. you also need an additional PC to shitpost on the internet, which you haven't denied lol
why the fuck you spend all that money on one console to play only a certain number of licensed games when you could not be retarded and use your PC as a powerhouse for all video games?
>new
>new
>new
Are you retarded? You can play 60+ fps all games currently released on max or in rare cases near-max settings on ~2 year old hardware, what's with that obsession with new? Do you want to stick your butt up for jews THIS much?
Name 3 common hobbies that are more expensive
>certain pets
>shooting guns
>working on cars
>to play your console you need a TV. you also need an additional PC to shitpost on the internet
everyone's got those already you braindead fuck. do i need to spell out every single word in my sentence to make you understand? i'm literally repeating myself
>GAME
>WORK
>SHOP
4xxx series is still good and can use ddr3.
>everyone's got those already you braindead fuck.
then you can sell it, upgrade it, or wait until your shitty lappy breaks and you need a new one.
PC: Developers know you pirate everything so you get sloppy, unfinished half-assed shitty ports that never get patched.
Console: Developers know you'll spend money so you get an incomplete game with DLC out the ass.
Either way, you're fucked.
A-anyone?
>cars, bikes, boats
>bars, clubs, eating out, with or without drugs
>Traveling (vacation)
>shooting guns
actually similar in price if you spend wisely, but can certainly get expensive
>everyone's got those already
so why the fuck are you choosing to ignore its cost you dipshit? lmao
you don't get to pick and choose what should be included in cost. you had to buy a PC because it is a useful device unlike the garbage consoles which are designed for braindead dipshits like you who can't figure out how to turn a PC into a media station. the point is PC gamers don't need to waste additional hundreds of dollars on a garbage tin can so they can run shitty games at 28 FPS on medium-low settings.
>PC: Developers know you pirate everything so you get sloppy, unfinished half-assed shitty ports that never get patched.
you realize all those console-to-pc ports are gamepad enabled, allowing the PC gamers to have the console experience with better FPS, graphics, controls, and online play?
Eh, I don't really think the price difference is too drastic.
I spent 900 dollars on my pc ~5 years ago and still don't need to upgrade. Even when I do upgrade, it's not like I'm scrapping this PC, you know?
Even though the initial investment is more expensive than a console, games are definitely cheaper, free online play, and it should be cheaper to upgrade when necessary.
Is probably right though. If you only spend the price of a console on a pc, you aren't going to get a quality PC. It's better to invest a little more, and have a PC that will last.
almost everybody is going to need a PC anyway so the basics are already there: mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers/headphones, case, main board, RAM and possibly a pretty good CPU. just add a good GPU and you're done. games are in a completely different league in how cheap you can get them for PC and you dont have to pay extra for playing online. and yes, you get actual frames (plural) per second and thus save money on painkillers.
even if you have to build the PC from scratch, the expensive games and paid online on consoles are going to add up.
>if you're not spending at least 800-900 bucks you're better off buying a console or saving to build the pc at a later date
except some of us grown ups use the PCs for work as well. i am a network designer and i use Visio and AutoCAD on the same gaming PC.
but have fun with your McJob and your McLife (and McConsole while we're at it).
Having a PC is a necessity anyway. You can either spend the money to buy a nice PC that you can game on as well, or you can spend the money on a console as well as a PC for browsing/internet purposes.
>so why the fuck are you choosing to ignore its cost you dipshit?
lemme explain once more, you living abortion
a tv and a side pc are not something you buy just so you can play your kiddie games, unlike a dedicated desktop that will likely only be used by you
if you're building a decent pc from scratch you NEED to include the monitor and every other peripheral. if you're buying a console you don't need to buy a tv and a side pc because those are already around, even most 3rd worlders have 1080p tvs and some cheap laptop because they're pretty much basic household items. when you're buying a car you don't include the price of the garage, because it's already there.
if you don't get it this time i suggest a tight rope around your inbred neck
Automotive
Drug culture
Movie collecting
>sometimes
More like all the time. Just got re5 gold edition 14.00 even though i think it's a bad game just to play with jap friend
Only in the short-term. You can spend the exact same amount of money on a PC/laptop and never have to spend a single cent again. And if you treat your electronics right (PC, console or otherwise) it should last well beyond a console generation, and when the next consoles come out and you need more power in your PC, instead of buying a new $400-500 machine you can sell your old GPU and use that money plus $200-300 on a brand new one.
gasoline
girlfriend
condoms
what's that got to do with anything? not my fault you're poor and only have one computer
i'm an architect, not some poorfag netslave that probably pirates autocad
>what is the long run
Console normies are impulsive buyers and cannot manage money.
>if you're building a decent pc from scratch you NEED to include the monitor and every other peripheral. if you're buying a console you don't need to buy a tv and a side pc because those are already around,
Yet monitors, kb&m, etc are around in abundance. I'ce been given multiple for free from people who didnt need them.
$90 per game here in Canada. It certainly isn't cheap
Upvoted for this. I used my last PC for 7 years with a few minimal replacements (hard drive that died, added a mem stick, that sorta thing)
maybe the only winning move is not to play...
>mama-chan will never use her ass to milk you while sleeping just to save money on laundry
GODDAMNIT
holy fuck the delusional nerd rage coming from an autistic virgin who's contributed nothing to society and yet feels the need to tell others to kill themselves. what a joke lmao. i am a network designer, my work literally has a state-wide impact. i probably make more than your whole dipshit faggot family combined.
the fact is that you can't live without a PC. you can't have a console experience without having a PC as well. a console on the other hand isn't a necessity.
i doubt you're going to get it by now because you're beyond retarded, but fuck off and stop wasting my time you fucking dweeb lol. stay mad virgin
>nicer things cost more money
in other news, water is wet.
why the fuck are you assuming i only have 1 PC? lmao, i literally have a dedicated work laptop, a separate gaming PC, and another workstation PC i use for gaming and work.
you're not an architect, you're some college aged dweeb who has a gripe to pick with PC gamers and those who actually make more money than you, you useless bitch lol
ITT: console kiddies and autists calling others poor despite not working and still living with their parents.
>not working
>not still living with their parents
Why did you write the 2nd thing? That's a good thing.
