Star Citizen - totally not ready!

This game is nowhere near being 2-3 months away from launch, as they claim!
youtube.com/watch?v=GucYhhLwIxg

Why don't they say they've missed another deadline and delayed it?
Rushing it isn't going to make things any better either!

It's not even out of Alpha yet, they should be making finishing touches before going Gold at this point

People still talk about this vaporware?

Yeah my friend wants me to buy it so we can play together

I am resisting peer pressure, I am starting to feel like my friend wants to feel less bad for being scammed by making someone else get scammed too
Except he bought the game when it cost $30 whereas now it costs like $80!

>there will be queues for landing pads and take off slots

Honestly, I expected the hype for this game to diminish after what happened with NMS, but people are praising it now more than ever. Some people never learn.

Did they actually claim release or just another alpha version? Currently watching the demo right now.

The single player campaign is supposed to be coming out by the end of the year
The MMO next year

>vaporware
loving this meme

>This game is nowhere near being 2-3 months away from launch, as they claim!

The fuck are you talkinga bout? They never said that.

>cant even get back in the ship unless its landed in a specific way

DROPPED

...

It costs 45.

It's $55 for the single player and another $55 for the MMO but there's a bundle for both and it costs $75

Did he die?

72 CAD on my end

Which is 60 or something in Hillarybuxx

>tfw payed 30
>tfw still don't have a game years later

Absolutely no problem in Elite Dangerous. It features a single Galaxy and it's so vast that even in populated space you will never run out of pads even with NPC's and Players docking.

>that scene at around 30mins in when he warps while looking backwards
I've never seen that before, in a video game or otherwise

what is it with these games and the lack of runways?

it's fucking stupid.

Why would you need a runway in Zero-G unless we are talking about Capital Ships launching Carrier Fighters.

The Bengal has a runway.

Nah it's solid but it def won't have everything by launch.

Which is fine for people who aren't invested and just want to play with friends and wreck other people's shit

Then you have never played Elite Dangerous. Outpost stations in the more popular systems in the core (especially LHS-447) will have backed up pads. Usually though you can just switch to solo, land and then go back to open and you're good.

Outpost Stations are the only situation where your point holds true. There's never a problem at Cube or Long John Stations.

Not even in Sothis right now.

>It's not even out of Alpha yet, they should be making finishing touches before going Gold at this point

>Going gold before even going through beta

Look, it's gonna be a year or two more before they'll even have a release candidate build.

I'm talking about planetary landings.

it's like map designers don't like run ways.

this goes even for games like planetside or whatever

It's not scheduled this year. Squadron 42 is.

Don't all these ships have 3d movement? I thought they'd just land vertically

No one said Star Citizen was ready for launch.

>Don't all these ships have 3d movement? I thought they'd just land vertically

that's the problem... to me VTOL aircraft in games are becoming a sign of laziness from the developers (who don't want to bore or alienate players by requiring aircraft to horizontally land).

When did they say they were going for 2-3 months? Was this said at gamescom? I didn't watch?

Out of all the major space games that have been released in the past few years. Elite looks like it's the one with the best future, it's also done using their own engine do it doesn't feel buggy or like they just patched a bunch of things together like in Star Citizen or NMS.

But aspects of space travel, having articulated thrusters all over your ship so that you can actually move it and make various maneuvers, would lend itself well to VTOL aircraft.

When was any of that ever said?

It's not even close to a beta, much less going gold.

>that gif

SQ42 supposed to be out 2016.

does SC even have a release date?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA.

No.

It's been "TBA" since 2011.

>jamming a space mortorcycle in your space pickup truck
its fine

"When it's done."

>2011: TBA
>2012: TBA
>2013: 2014
>2014: 2016
>2015: We don't like to give out release dates

I liked some of the stuff in the demo, but the game needs another 3 or 4 years of development.

I am completely fine with it. Never paid anything to them, so i dont give a fuck, if they take their time. It can probably be the greatest game ever. Or the biggest fail ever(much bigger then NMS). I will get my fun either way.

Nice to see this game making some solid progress. I hope the Star Shills keep funding this game for the next few years so it comes out complete and polished. I can't really blame them for wanting to fund this, it is going to be amazing if it delivers. I might buy a $40 ship myself; it's a very insignificant amount of money to support something with so much potential. Just flying through an asteroid field during free week was more amazing than I expected it to be.

Patch 3.0 is supposed to release before the end of the year, not the complete game.
