Find a flaw. Not just with 2 but with 1-4

Find a flaw. Not just with 2 but with 1-4

They actually give you too much ammo towards the end.

I enjoy each RE game for what they are, but honestly I think 4 is the worst in the series.

I'm not saying 5 and 6 are any better but at least they had the co-op mode to make them more bearable.

The main flaws for me in 4 would be QTEs, lackluster bosses, Leon is my least favorite protagonist in the series, it's also the game that made the series derail from the whole "Survival Horror" genre and lean more on action.

Rebecca

Camera and by proxy the controls haven't aged well. And don't give me the "games don't age" meme. If there exist a better way to present a 3D space then that means the previous methods have aged.

replayed the fuck out of re2 a month ago, all stories, was good fuckin times

i wanna fuck claire so bad

3 is on my all time top 10 but I severely disliked 4. It felt so wrong.

I'm happy I'm not alone.

>wanting to fuck Claire
>not tofu
Shit taste

I hope the HD remake will have the creepiness ramped up.

Especially when Birkin appears.

>HD malformations
>Those animations when he goes from one malformation to the next

You know you want to see this. Hope only that Capcom won't chicken it out.

Also wanting HD Tofu.

>nostalgiafags whining about 4 again
>as always their only argument is "NOT MUH SURVIVAL HORROR GAME"

He asked for flaws and like I said I enjoy each game for what they are.

I figure Capcom planned for resident evil to change style every 3 games. 1-3 were survival horror, 4-6 were third person shootypops, and 7-9 will be outlasty first person horrors.

The port to N64. The audio didn't transfer well. My only critique.

I figured that might be what they going for as well after seeing 7 announced.

Seeing as they do spin-offs in the same style in between numbered games, it makes me hope for some first-person spin-offs, If they do 7 right.

>gives three other reasons besides survival horror
>decides to ignore those reasons and uses his maymay arrows as a counter argument for that one point

1 - terrible voice acting and pacing
REmake - this is was perfect
2 - great setting, good potential. pretty lackluster in the second half
3 - did the city setting much better, better pacing, better mechanics, better controls, better character.

Nemesis alone put 3 > 2 the only thing 2 does better than 2 is the initial atmosphere. You really felt like the city was going to shit right infront of you.
3 leaves that part out and you are trying to get out when it looks hopeless.
3 was alot more action oriented than 2 but the type of horror was slightly different, you had the ammo you were trying to survive an onslaught of shit and Nemesis' constant pursuit.
4 - Fantastic game, shit resident evil. should've been what 3.5 looked to be. 4 could've been a totally different IP all you had to do was change Leon, Ada, Wesker, Krauser. everything else -even the plot- has nothing to do with RE.
CVX - Fuck steve.

What's worrying me is that there is nothing relating to Resident Evil at all in any released footage of the game. You show me that footage and tell me it's brand new horror IP and I would believe you.

those other three reasons were stupid. and you just contradicted yourself by using may may arrows as well.

I love all these games, so here I go.

1 is really good all around, but Jill's story is ezmodo because of the fucking Bazooka. As soon as you get it, you can basically waste anything in the entire mansion for the rest of the game, and there's too much ammo for it. Also every single boss, whether in Chris's or Jill's game, dies in like three shots with the Magnum. You don't even need to fucking move from where you're standing after the Tyrant kills Wesker, you can just unload with the Magnum and it's over.

2 is my favorite because I've played it so many times and I loved the levels, but it's easy as fuck compared to RE1. You get so many ink ribbons that saving is never a problem, and you get way too much ammo for everything. The only real challenge in RE2 is the B scenario end boss, that guy is fucking tough.

3 is fucking great because of Nemesis, he's probably the toughest enemy in all the REs up to that point, and scary as hell when he pops out of nowhere. The main problem with RE3 is that I felt it was way too short compared to RE1 and RE2, it didn't have a lot of puzzles, and somehow, despite getting great CGI compared to the previous games, the voice acting was a downgrade from RE2, especially fucking Carlos, that guy was like RE1 levels of cheesy (which isn't a really major complaint since I always enjoyed the dumb lines from RE1 anyway, but I can see why some people might bitch about this). Also, it has the same problem as RE2, in that you get too many ink ribbons and ammo.

A lot of the beef people have with 4 is that it's such a deviation from the general gameplay and style of the original games that they feel it doesn't belong in the series anymore. I personally enjoy the game immensely, especially since RE2 is my favorite and I like Leon as a protagonist, but regardless of the whole "RE4 isn't RE," argument, and focusing on the game itself, everything to do with Ashley is a fucking travesty.

>Game legitimately has nothing to do with the series other than characters
>Could've been another IP
>Built from the remnants of a game that looked like it would have been a good entry to the series.
>Changed the series forever
>Brought in a new wave of faggots that wank over leon so much he's the new poster boy and in CGI movies

It was nothing more than a cash in using the series name, unfortunately it was a good game.
I don't hate the game I hate faggot like you telling me what I can't like.
It's a shit resident evil game.
It's not even about zombies.

REmake made the first game obsolete. Everything about the visual designs and the two new surprises made it feel far more chilling than RE1

RE2 and onwards tend to be far more generous with ammo

RE2 expanded the series lore in such a great way and it's criminal no other RE was as creative

RE3 had Nemesis, sexy Jill, and a more open feel to Raccoon, and it's one of the best looking games of the PS1.

RE4 had a wisecracking Leon, gothic aesthetic, and a fresh story that was completely unrelated the Umbrella Lab stuff in the previous games. I think the gameplay in RE4 is more actionized, but the tension and difficulty makes up for it imo.

CV is wasted potential, but I still liked it a lot

The issues I stated are more or less the same ones I have with 5 & 6, but I found them more enjoyable due to the co-op feature. At the end of the day it's personal preference.

But honestly if you're not going to way in on the discussion and are just going to bitch about "nostalgia" instead of giving your opinion on the games, then why even bother.

They changed the genre instead of continually expanding on it, people would have played tank controls forever as long as the story and atmosphere was decent.

4 should have been a spin off with its own set of sequels.

Its just fucked the image of the brand up for everyone good or bad, there was just no need as usual with this money hungry industry.

1: Honestly I don't have an actual decent complaint.

2: I only wish the city was explored more I guess RE 3 did that for me though.

3: I never really cared for mixing. But that's a personal thing.

4: Same as 1. I don't really have anything bad to say.

My only complaint about RE2 is the difficulty. It's absurdly easy. Have any of you played the Japanese version? There's at least 35 ink ribbons and loads of ammo. It's insane. American version kinda fixed this but it's still pretty easy. RE1 was nowhere near this easy.

I'd also say I'm not the biggest fan of the double scenario. Going through the same game for a second time with some minor changes here and there isn't the best to be honest. I wish the remake would implement two VERY different scenarios for Claires and Leon. Also, what's the point of having A/B scenarios?

It's hard for me to find flaws too, which is weird given how old these games are getting now.

By RE3 the formula was a bit stale but that's barely a criticism. RE4 is one of the best games I've ever played, but I guess the endgame gets a bit boring with enemies having fucking machine guns and the whole industrial island.

Despite being mechanically sound, it would be really easy to capitalize on the mechanics of the genre and make a game in the same style that uses modern technology. Optional areas, better enemies, maybe some control improvements, etc. Hoping that's what the RE2make is going to be.

Why does Leon have such a nice taste in jackets? Both 4 and 6. It's like the once piece of cool video game clothing that wouldn't look autistic to wear in real life.

>You know you want to see this. Hope only that Capcom won't chicken it out.
I need to see that arm eye burst open in glorious HD.

I had a nightmare I started to grow his eye thing on my hand as a kid. I put peroxide on it and it shrunk.
