internet walkthroughs, communication, and youtubbe

you're old and jaded

Loaded question. Instead of answering your question, you convince me that gaming was more fun back then.

...

what do you mean, it's pretty good right now!

Because you grew up, it's the sad truth. When you were younger you were more easily entertained, you didn't think about problems with games or prices or developers. You were just happy to have something to play. As you grew up the games took more and more to keep you entertained, you started to become more critical of them until your standards became too high. You longed for something that held your attention and entertained you like the games of your youth. But you will never find anything like that, you will spend your whole life trying to reclaim the joys of your youth in vain.

Sure, just hop in my time machine or I could just compress 25 years of experiences in one sentence.

Thats actually some sort of cake.

Was just about to say this.

Shouldn't it be more easy to explain if you're convinced that it's an obvious fact?

Cakes are made of dough. This seems more like some egg/milk sort of base, kind of like pudding.

Axel's really hit and miss, and more than likely a creep considering he had amputees and babies in one of his recent paypacks

Post more anyway, he has some goodies here and there

...

thick pancakes

Because people, example most posters on this board, forced developers to believe that Graphics are the only thing that matter in games so we don't get enjoyable experiences anymore and if we do we have to wade through a bunch of shit to get there.

Rich kids trowing money at :
Shit games that run on hype
Ruination of Franchise roots
Early Acesss games for 60$
Lies
Scams
Pre-orders and benefits
Season Passes
Piss poor dlc
DLC comprised of OP weapons and suits
0 Originality
Franchises turning away from genre into something that sells the most
(God of War into the Last of us)
Overall gaming is ruined by console community.

...

Dont listen to any of these people.

It was more fun because there were new games coming out with new mechanics.

There hasn't been a new in years that isn't a sequel/rehash/spiritual successor.

This is why VR fags were so hyped for their goggles, because they thought they'd be getting new experiences.

One thing though is that enthusiasm of video games has died down. Where it used to be a secret club for nerds and geeks is just now homogenized for mass consumption. There hasn't been a single game available with a real challenge or reward for beating the game in a long time. I know kids and ecelebs go out of their way to claim Dark Souls to be difficult, but if you've been playing games for years then the series is a cakewalk that ends up just being repetitive grinding.

Also most of the good western studios were destroyed by EA and most of the japanese studios were either merged or bankrupt.

Mods please

Full on sharia law up in here. Can't show one tiddie or butt cheek without the culture police showing up.

Man fuck those mod cunts. This place used to be free.

Because now the game companies are trying to nickle and dime us with DLC and mircotransactions, and the public at large has a main fixation on realistic games like sports or Cawadoody, and indie devs are by and large a bunch of pretentious SJ hipsters.

That combined with no more couch co-op games and being a adult makes games as a whole, less fun.

Sadly this.
Games used to innovate.
A shit tier floppy disk held proceduraly generated wireframe galaxy filled with planets u can land on. Be a trader and influence economy. Become feared pirate and explore surfrace of Inhabited planets.
ONE FLOPPY FUCKING DISK
And these cucks cant deliver a proper remake with today's tech
Games used to be about gettting gud.
Learning the nooks and crannies of it.
It was about passion from small teams with visions.
Now its lies to feed the hype machine and consumer culture.
There is no passion. Gamers became dumber. They will defend unfinished shit like it is disturbing the fabric of their life.
Its sequels, prequels and popularity chase.
Games live for 6months TOP and then are forgotten.
Good writers are dead or not wanted.
Games serve as a mod platform not a game on its own.
It is sad. But I persist. I hope something good will come out. MAybe industry crashes again like with ET.... and then it resets itself.
Maybe people realize they are eating coorporate shit that isnt worth their time or money. And then we get some actual good games again. Games with hearts poured into them

I don't know what it was but it's a work safe board so the mods are justified in deleting whatever it was. This is why image spoilers exist.

I'll try to refrain from hyperbole like some of the other posters but I still feel that games are as fun are ever so long as you look for stuff that suits your specific tastes or are willing to look outside of the mainstream. That said, the gaming community as a whole has become rather shitty as have industry practices.

Because you got old and games got shitty.

Cakes are made of batter, faggot.

Bread is made of dough. Except weird American shit like wonderbread, which is also made of batter.

No. I still want magic in gaming. Games got shitty. Has nothing with us growing old. U pay 60$ and u get a broke ass shit that requires more payments to resemble a marketed product. Not to mention weeks of patches.
Game goes beta phase, half of the game is bugged
CASH SHOP OVERPRICED AND WORKS PERFECT
U see priorities.

Image spoilers mean jack shit, those Wahhabi motherfuckers are deleting shit ARBITRARILY, at will.

NSFW is fucking meaningless when the whole theme of this board is just a videogame flavored Sup Forums board.

Tarts are made of batter, you mouthbreathing imbecile. Cakes/pies (at the least the foundation) is made of dough. Go read a cookery book before you open stupid mouth.

Discuss the video game topic not the image, since retards like you cant follow that the next step is to either prune the thread or delete the image.

Fool, Tarts are made from an unleavened pastry dough base. Pies are made with a kind of dough. Bread is made from dough, and Cakes are made from batter.

Aside from the fact that they are both sweet things, the bread part of a pie really has very little in common with a cake.

Batters are poured. Doughs are more solid, and must be kneaded or formed.

Honestly its our fault; the consumer. Our expectations for games do not allow for innovation. Ever since CoD was a thing, game dev companies have been dropping like flies and making a game where you rehash tired FPS mechanics is much financially safer than making an action rpg/kart racer hybrid featuring an anthropomorphic rooster and his gang of wacky farm marines. Creativity does not amount to financial security.

Call of Duty is a game that has been innovating, and people hated it. It's sad, but people WANT the same game.

this gen is pretty bad expect stuff like witcher 3, bloodborne, some nintendo games and some fine but not great games. That being said we grew up and technics like DLC games seem okay for children these days. Not a decision I approve but it's not for us anymore. Play some old games or looks around for indie titles. Vidya is way too mainstream to be as good as it used to be.
