My friend and I were playing INSIDE the other day. There's a part where you have to remove planks of wood off a door while dogs chase after you. You need to climb a fence if the dogs get near. My friend was playing and I was screaming because I was so stressed he would fuck up.

I don't really remember. Horror games usually only have like 1-2 jumpscares that make make you somewhat startled but I don't remember a game making me feel all that scared since amnesia and even that became more annoying than scary once you realized how the monsters worked.

The thing about horror games is that it's kind of hard to become scared when the game forms a very clear and distinct core gameplay loop where nothing too surprising can happen aside from the plot and you can even spot coming jump scares from quite a distance away in most cases.

Stanley Parable is pretty scary....

Modern Warfare 3. Not because it was scary, but because I trusted a fart too much. I was sitting on a bean bag type of chair and wearing trunks. It was not a happy day.

I don't really understand how people found the Evil Within scary when most of the time it was just unintentionally comedic. The plot of the game was laughably generic and execution was pitiful with the voice acting being so bad that I wasn't sure at times if it was intentionally bad or not.

Underhell scared the shit out of me plenty of times. Some of the scares are jumpy, but I still love the game. Awesome atmosphere, and extremely unsettling.

Silent hill 3

To this day I haven't ever beaten it I just watched walkthroughs of it. Too scared to play through myself. I had to force my way through the first silent hill by playing in a public library. The shame of screaming or sperging out due to being scared overcame my fear.

It's not exactly fear, but something about SE gives me an incredibly strong sense of vertigo or something similar. I can't play it for more than 10-15 minutes without feeling incredibly uneasy.

Last game that made me shit myself was Guild Wars 2.

Another server was trying to take our garrison and over the four hour siege that followed I ended up shitting myself because I didn't want to spend 20 minutes AFK while commanding.

They eventually took our garrison so it was all in vain anyway.

i just couldn't bring myself to play through Dead Space 2. it felt like such predictable trash after how great the first game was.

Many games have scared me now and then, but only the first 3 Silent Hill games keep me on a continuous state of suspense and fear.

I mean, sure we have Project Zero for example, but it's obvious that ghosts are around and what they can do more or less, it's all jump-scare, the first 3 Silent hill however (specially the first one with all that fog and the fucking radio) knew how to put some fear on me.

Honorable mention for STALKER labs, too bad the whole game isn't like that.

Silent Hill is hilarious in the respect that if you let yourself be inmersed (ie: play at night alone) you'll be scared shitless. But if you paly during the day with a window unconquered you just play an action survival horror
