I want Square-Enix to periodically release three-minute comedic shorts of Yoko Taro's misadventures.
With him obviously still wearing the Emil mask.

I've seen an article saying something about it being the best arpg soon to be released, supposedly better than the new Final Fantasy. That doesn't sound fsr fetched, but I haven't played either, although ive played the original Nier so I'm confident this new entry will be sublime.

>Platinum games
>selling

No you haven't

I hope it's good, the stars seem to be aligning on this one. It's almost too perfect that it's making me wary.

>Yoko Taro aka "Suda 51-lite" is just another half-baked video game "auteur" whom people mistake for some kind of sophisticated artist. All style, no substance. And his style isn't even all that great either.

>whom people mistake for some kind of sophisticated artist.
who the fuck do that.
We only know him as the madman

Of course suddenly it's praised when a PC port is announced

Like fucking clockwork

>whom people mistake for some kind of sophisticated artist

on what planet in which galaxy?

you didn't even get a change to beta test

[citation needed]

He's not a sophisticated artist. He's a good writer that explores themes you don't always see in video games and he can put together a solid story and world to carry those themes. And he does goofy shit in interviews.

I'm getting it on PS4 and I was hyped since the reveal so fuck you.

I liked when Taro used the sock puppet.

>yfw

The flower is an advanced living machine send to the Drakengard dimension to stop humans of Nier dimension from acquiring magic so they cant build the yorhas or emil, and the aliens can invade the earth

I wonder how many times you will have to fuck the shota commander bot.
I wonder what the "Ultra happy" ending will be

earth exploding

Giant babies!

It was being praised before the PC announcement, but now it has a larger audience. Oh wait I forgot this was bait

Can we ever be sure that these are even the same man?

Probably will get called shit because they don't get the Nier, Drakengard and Grimoire Noire references.

>He's a good writer

That's exactly what he isn't.

name a good videogame writer then

>it's another yoko taro circlejerk episode

Nah, it'll get called fantastic because it's a platinum game

If the Platinum demo is anything to judge the new game by, then without a doubt it will be better. Looks miles better, and we've only seen around 30 or so minutes of gameplay.

I am still, however, hopeful that FFXV's combat will intensify as the story progresses. The katana weapon looked amazing, and I am hoping that we can get cuhrazee-er with the Phantom Blades.

But yeah, even still, Nier looks to be best game released in a while

i want to pollinate zero eye

I wonder what bullshit he's planing to inject this game with.

mai nigga, i love tarogames. he's the shakespeare of our generation

Do I need to have played Nier to get this game?

Maybe, maybe not. Nobody knows.

>That guy isn't a good writer

>Well then name a good writer then!

What?

Probably?
It's not really a direct sequel but I'm sure there will be a fuckton of reference to the first game
The first's a pretty damn good game in it's own right too

>tfw you lived enough to see videogames saved
Don't lie, we all know you weren't alive yet during the mid 80's.

I'm not going to lie, the sole reason why I played DoD3 is because I heard that the real ending was locked behind beating 3 other branches, finding and beating the hidden verses, and collecting every weapon in the game. I wanted to know so badly what was locked behind those requirements that would essentially filter out anyone who didn't want to absolutely finish the game. So much so that I refrained from spoilers for years, and I am normally the one who goes right to youtube to watch cutscenes. Still have, I'm about to hit branch D as we speak.

Pic unrelated.

If we can use the relationship of Drakengard and NieR as an example, then probably not as far as critical plot details are concerned. However, your experience with Automata will probably be richer for having the first game as a reference point.

Honestly, I'm just as excited for the expanded material we'll undoubtedly get to cover the time gap between the two games. Reading Grimoire Nier and hearing about all the metal-ass shit that went down after Ending E of Drakengard was just too damn awesome.

Well then get to that shit, son. Branch D is great. Hurry before you get spoiled in this thread.

This point has been emphasized multiple times in multiple interviews. According to Taro and the boys, no, you don't have to play the first Nier to understand this one.

Haven't played it myself, but I spoiled myself the Drakengard stuff so I could understand the world it takes place in. Knowing Taro, there will be a lot of exposition explaining what has happened here and there, though you'll probably have to look for this info.

If I were you, however, I'd look up all the chimera to better appreciate the lore. Taro is a fucking riot. You'll probably get the message of the game's multiple endings, but knowing shit beforehand will probably improve your appreciation.

Do you guys think Caim was at peace as he slaughtered much of Earth's population, both directly and indirectly?
I like to think he was

I don't know if "peace" is the right word to describe it, but I do believe that murder is the only thing he truly lives for.

he will be back, i am sure
Our boy cant die that easy

>directly
I thought he kick the buck along with Angelus. As in, they died together.

>at peace
Yeah, he was with his waifu. No regrets.

No Ps3 but I would like to know story of Drankegard 3 and Nier 1, what is some Sup Forums approved playthrough playlist?

>playtrought
>nier-drakengard
none

Nope, Caim led the monsters created by the White Chlorination Syndrome against humanity as revenge for killing Angelus

Just go the wiki and read it.

This guy has some great vids for explaining all of Drakengard, and he'll do Nier soon. Most of the stuff can be found on the wiki, but his videos are nice.

Wait, Caim was the Red Eye? I don't remember reading that. Is that in Grimoire Nier?

Sauce? I believe you, but want to read more about this. We are talking about ending E, correct?

Yeah I am well aware of how shit and tedious their gameplay is but I am up for that

Normally I use game wiki to read extra stuff rather than do a full study, I tend to watch/play thing beforehand.
Also thanks for the video

the flower was right

More people have a PS4 than a PC capable of running a new game like this. Fact is more new people will be getting it on PS4 than PC

Spoiler that shit. It' disgusting.
